That's gotta be fun! For your party planning needs: March 2026

They've been here since 1947... before Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Universal, LegoLand and yep, longer than Mickey. These mermaids ‍ showed Ariel how it's done in Florida waters. Welcome to Weeki Wachee Springs... home of one of the Sunshine State's original roadside attractions. (second maybe only to orange juice stands). If you love clear water, gentle humor, fun costumes, old Florida, a little razzle dazzle and a whole lot of bubbles, you'll get a kick out of the mermaid shows. The mermaids have their own theater and the kids aren't the only ones who get sucked into the fairy tale. The vibes are so laid back, you could be lulled into forgetting how hard these underwater moves are. They make it look easy-but there's some serious athleticism and training, behind all of the underwater fun... and they do it all... while wearing tails! (like Ginger Rogers keeping up with Fred Astaire-but backwards and in high heels) The mermaid show is adjacent to the water park. They share a parking lot and a ticket window. You could make a day out of it. There's a cute gift shop... and random peacocks wandering around... plus photo ops with the mermaids. I love the history of this place-they do a good job sharing it at the show. I'll let them tell you. The show is part of Weeki Wachee State Park. When i went (March 2026), it was $13 for adults-I think $8 for kids and I believe the youngest ones get in free. The water park and paddle boarding are extra but the admission covers the mermaids and I think the river cruise is included. The mermaid shows run a few times a day-and seats fill up quickly, so get there about 30 minutes early on busier days (summer and weekends). It's so Florida-you've gotta go! Have fun!

This was a must-stop for me coming from out of state! I've been once in 2015 and was insured to become a professional mermaid (for kids parties) in my home state after watching these mermaid perform and incredible routine underwater!! I still can't believe all that they do include staying under water for about 20 minutes (with breathing hoses), changing costumes multiple times under water, eating/drinking underwater, and all while smiling and dancing for the guests. Truly amazing! I highly recommend making the stop--this is especially fun for families! There are a few entertaining shows, a couple small gift shops, and several food/drinks areas as well. The Buccaneer Bay was closed today, but I believe you can normally swim in this area inside of the actual spring. Such a fun day!!

Since we got our state park pass (we get admission for two free here), I've been taking multiple friends. The mermaid shows change (not sure how frequently). We have been twice this week and saw two different shows. After the show, there's always a mermaid by the gift shop that you can take a pic with. You can take them on your phones or pay like $5 to get an autographed pic. I think it's cool you have options! The spring beach is awesome, there's a few places to enter and now that it's warmer, they have tons of chairs out for people and some seating with umbrellas. They also have the water slide going now that it's warmer! There's a little playground and a restaurant, little boat tour and an animal show. The tour and show are also included in the admission! Each time we have been (about four times so far), we have spent a minimum of 3 hours.

Great place to spend the day! We went kayaking, saw the mermaid show, ate a great lunch, swimming in the spring pool, and had snacks all for under $200 for a group of 3.

This place is a rip off and very unprofessional, no inclement weather paid our fee sat down for 3 minute then they announced the show was canceled,l. Drove from Miami just for the mermaid show . It was for my granddaughter's birthday she is very upset . They tried to argue that the weather was bad nothing on the app says bad weather coming . Refused us any kind of compromise no money back no rain check no nothing just rudeness . Will never take any of time again to come here .

Last night was our second time visiting Weeki Wachee. The first time we came was during the day - and, apparently I got distracted before doing a review. I'm writing about it here but have no pictures from our day trip. Last night was the Halloween carnival. During the day: the line to get in is long! Come early. My grandsons went down the waterslide so many times I stopped counting. We loved swimming to the dock. The mermaid show was so iconic - it was awesome to show the boys the first roadside attraction. The show has been running since 1947!! 78 years at this point. Wild 'n Wicked Nights: we had no idea what to expect. The line to get in was even longer! Wow. Once the gate opened, line moved fast though. We started in the haunted maze (boys are 9 and 13). It was just the right level of spooky. The Other Side Haunted Manor was more scary - still okay but we jumped a few times. The Dead Bay Excursion was surprising. Fun. I'll leave it at that. Mermaid show always wonderful. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.

Weeki Wachee Springs has so much potential. Cute idea overall and highlight of the park is the cool mermaid show. Lots of talent and unique skills to put on an underwater show. Nice family park with plenty to do but you must plan accordingly. Highly recommended to arrive early as the park closes when at capacity which can be reached early in the day. Amazing natural spring with crystal clear water once you acclimate yourself after the first dip in the cold 72-73 degree water all year round. Love the slides and great for the kids and adults of all ages. The lazy river is disappointing overall. It's an extra $10 for the donut and $10 for access and really is not worth the 5-10 minutes of a very short unimpressive float down about 40-50 yards of a super lazy river. The wilderness river cruise was okay and educational with cool facts and information. Only tip that's suggested is to sign up for the cruise immediately upon entering the park to secure your spot on the cruise that leaves every hour on the hour as they will fill up quickly. We were not able to experience anything else as the ranger experience and amphitheater had no events or shows planned which is disappointing as it can make the visit so much better and entertaining. Overall, it's a lovely family oriented park and a nice natural spring but has so much more potential to be a greater and more amazing attraction.

BEAUTIFUL WATERS. Just follow the rules and you will love it. Alcohol and smoke free. Do not tie your boats off. They will ticket you. The waters are beautiful and crystal clear here. Enjoy

I had an amazing visit here in December. Even though it was off season I had an incredible time. The river guides were extremely informative and I was so thankful for all the info they provided! The entire staff is so sweet and nice. I cannot wait to return to kayak and hopefully see the manatees! The beach access was super neat and I can myself spending the day there relaxing and taking a dip into the 72° water. Florida state parks are certainly a state treasure. Definitely recommend for a day trip :)

Weeki Wachee is a gem. Go early and prepare for a full day of fun. The park offers so many fun things and on special occasions you may even see a manatee in the swimming area! Make sure to make time to see the mermaid show. It is one of a kind!Paddling the river is separate of the park and takes advanced reservations.

This was a really cute experience! We were in town visiting my in-laws, and we've been talking about this place for over a year. It was a pretty windy Monday afternoon when we made it out, so it wasn't too busy. The employees greeting us as we came in were very friendly and a great indicator for what we were in for! We came for the mermaid show, so we ambled about until we were ready to stake our place in line. We came across multiple picture points (super cute) and saw that they have a spring you can actually swim in and a beach for it! From what people were saying, you could also kayak down for 7 miles where a bus will pick you up and bring you back. That sounds cool! Once let into the mermaid theater, there are TVs that display old black and white videos of the shows from years past. Once the show started, we were dazzled. It's a really cool skill to be able to do what they do. The show they did was Little Mermaid, and the villain was the best part for me. When the show was done, we headed to the gift shop and bought a couple of things, all very reasonably priced. We also had excellent customer service while we were in there, such a sweet girl! We had a great first time at Weeki Wachee, and I look forward to coming back one day.

An overall wonderful and enjoyable experience for the family. Weeki Wachee is a great "starter" for those that are new to natural springs and want to get their feet wet (no pun intended). Tips: - As a good rule of thumb, get there early. We went during the last days of the summer (during Labor Day weekend), and a third of the lot was already full right after opening (9 am). - Parking is free - first-come-first-serve, so if you want a good spot, see first tip above. - There's a website that will give you an idea of what you can and cannot bring into the park (definitely recommend bringing an authorized cooler for snacks and beverages, although there are food and refreshments available on site). - The admission covers access to the general areas of the park, wading area of the natural spring, and mermaid shows. Everything else comes as an additional fee (ie. the lazy river, boat tour, etc.). - The beach area is a first-come-first-serve area (you don't have to rent the loungers, but the umbrellas might come with a rental charge). - If the mermaid shows are on your to-do-list while you're here, make sure you get to the show at least 15 minutes prior if you want good seats. The ushers will cap off when the auditorium reaches capacity. It's a great show covering the history of the Weeki Wachee Springs, so I definitely recommend attending if you have the capacity to do so. Make sure you dry off before coming here though. The Weeki Wachee Springs State Park is a great park to take the family to cool down and enjoy some water activities. As a disclaimer, my review is covering the park side of the overall Weeki Wachi Springs. There is a more "active" portion of the park in which you can cruise the entire length and tributaries of the springs. About a 40-minute trip from north Tampa, Weeki Wachee Springs sits along the main Route 19 corridor in Hernando County. The environ of the natural spring does not lend itself to be apparent, however, there are signs and displays directing visitors to the park. As you park, you may notice that there are two "entrances". There is the park entrance (which this review is covering) and another entrance for canoe, kayak, and paddle board rentals (I believe this entrance leads to the more "active" portion of the park). It was a wonderful experience. The park does a great job at maintaining its tidiness, although sometimes the trash containers may fill up quickly during peak visitation. It was nice to see through the clear water in both the wading areas and lazy river. The water was extremely cool, but refreshing (do not let this discourage you from getting in - I assure you that your body will acclimate to the springs and it's going to feel great afterwards). As it is a natural spring, there is naturally loose debris of vegetation floating around - so don't be alarmed. There are amenities such as bathrooms, rentable lockers, umbrellas, and cabanas to augment your experience. The lazy river portion came at an additional $10 fee per person for unlimited rides. It's a short and slow journey, but the water in this portion is crystal blue. It is deeper than the wading area, so just prepare yourself if you have anxiety about treading into deep waters. There's also plenty of large fish in this portion which is pretty neat. The mermaid show was spectacular. The show times were limited, and we were barely able to squeeze in to the showing. The center of the auditorium probably offers the best view and presentation of the show, however the extreme ends of the auditorium still offer decent views. Although it might not be for everyone, it was a great experience to learn some history while enjoying the spring. We definitely recommend this for families and couples!

Pretty affordable springs, 19$ per adult. The water is naturally super cold, they say it's about 72 degrees but it really felt colder. I suggest wearing a wetsuit if your not use to cold water. The boat tour was actually the best part to me as you were able to see a lot of fishes aand the water was clear. For the springs part that you actually go in, the water was not as clear but not sure if that's because recently there was a passing hurricane. Goggles are a great idea. You are allowed to bring your own floating devices or can pay to rent one. They have a mermaid show, which there pretty famous for, but the inside of the area is freezing like so cold your body is shaking. You must have shoes on to see the under water mermaid show. We had went after we were in the water so that didn't help the cold water plus the freezing cold show. Now we know

Had a slightly traumatic experience today. My 7 year old got stuck (for 5 to 10 minutes) in the big slide which is pitch dark all the way through (fun but not when you get stuck) and he wasn't helped promptly. Full story - I was up there at the slide entrance and i could hear him screaming that he needs help. There was a staff up there (looked like a teenage kid) who had a walkie talkie. I assumed he would have informed the people in charge as soon as he got stuck. I kept talking to my son to lie down and try to push himself down and he kept responding saying he's trying everything but is still stuck and it is getting very uncomfortable. After a while I checked with the staff whether someone is coming to help. And then I see him telling on the walkie talkie "the boy is stuck on the slide can someone help?". I was shocked. It must have been a good 5 minutes (no watch, just guessing) and he just thought of informing?! By the time someone could come, my son finally managed to push himself down. I told the guy "you should have informed quicker" and his response was "talk to my manager". I thought "ok no use talking to the teenage kid he probably wasn't trained how to react in these situations". I went to the manager and told her "please train your staff to inform quicker" her response "he probably was sitting down, we cannot do anything about this" i go "No he was lying down this time.. first time he was sitting, but this time he was lying" she repeats "he probably was sitting; we don't promise how long it takes to slide; you eventually get down and that's what matters". Is this an empathetic response? I mean i get you have to stick to boiler plate legal language at times, but im not trying to sue anyone here. Im just looking for "i understand that must have felt scary, ill talk to my staff on acting quicker". I felt like I was talking to a robot both with the teenage staff and with the manager. Anyway, my husband intervened and helped the communication and both the manager and the teenage staff eventually apologized and i really appreciated it. Takeaway - If you're not staying in Holiday Inn, NorthShore Aquatic Center might be as fun for a fraction of the cost If you're staying in Holiday Inn, avoid the blue slide or go shirtless (another staff pointed out that might have helped) I see other reviews as well about untrained and disengaged teenage staff. Should have read before I visited!

The bar featured some drink bucket specials. They have a wide variety of food options from Greek salads, fries, pizzas and burgers. They feature clean water stations. I loved the variety of seating here from shaded, umbrella and even the reserved island area. Plenty of things for the kids to do from the small water park, covered concert stage and TVs to enjoy sports. Prices are fair and definitely got our $$$ worth being there for over 4 hours. Highly recommend getting here early to grab the non reserve seats. The staff was well trained and the entire lagoon, dining areas, sand and restrooms were clean.

By 5:30 PM, we had already made it to the very front of the line. A teenage employee told us there were no double kayaks available, so we kept waiting. Earlier, I had specifically asked what time they closed, and he said 7:00 PM. Then at 5:50 PM, he suddenly announced they were closed and walked away. When I asked for a manager, he first brought over another teen who claimed to be some kind of leader. Only after I insisted did they finally call a girl who said she was the manager. Her attitude was basically: "We don't care. Go complain to corporate." Absolutely pathetic service. They took our money, wasted over an hour of our time, misled us about closing, left a family with children and two elderly parents standing there for nothing, and then acted arrogant when asked for help. The whole place is clearly badly managed and staffed by people who do not care at all about customers. 1 star is far too generous. This place deserves 0. If you care about your family, your time, or being treated with basic respect, stay far away from this disgusting, arrogant mess.

I've lived here for 7 years and have watched this community evolve--unfortunately, not always for…read morethe better. While there have been some positives, the overall direction, especially in recent years, has been disappointing. The biggest issue is a clear decline in customer experience. The Metro Development Group management team seems to have lost sight of what made this place successful in the first place: its residents. The very people who built the Lagoon's reputation are now being treated like an afterthought. One example is the entry process. Residents used to have a dedicated entry and bag check, which made sense and showed value for membership. That has slowly been phased out, leaving members stuck in long general admission lines. For a paid membership experience, that's simply unacceptable. Even more frustrating is the constant rollout of new systems that feel unfinished. Instead of leveraging existing member data, residents are repeatedly forced to re-register as if they're brand new. This creates unnecessary confusion--for both members and staff--and leads to avoidable issues. This past weekend, I watched a longtime "legacy member" family of five get told only the father existed in the system. The rest of the family had been removed and would need to enter as guests. That's not just inconvenient--it's embarrassing and unacceptable for a venue of this caliber. I had a similar experience myself. I used my membership card to check in and purchase a drink with no issue. Less than an hour later, the same card suddenly "didn't exist" in the system. I was forced to go through the entire setup process again. There's clearly a lack of consistency and reliability in their system. At this point, it feels like this location is being used as a testing ground for new processes rather than being properly managed. If that's the case, there's little evidence that feedback is being implemented or that improvements are being made for this community. Metro needs leadership with real hospitality experience--someone who understands how to run a high-quality, member-focused venue and deliver a consistent experience. If management is reading this: please remember what made this Lagoon successful. Invest in your residents, fix the systems, and bring back the level of service this community deserves. This was the first Lagoon in the U.S.--it should be one of the best, not one of the most frustrating.

After seeing this attraction posted all over TikTok and Instagram, when my mom was in town we…read moredecided to check it out for the first time. On the website, there is no indication that lounge chairs are first come first serve and free, so we rented the lounge chairs for the 3 of us in Cabana Cove. Then we had to pay admission on top of the lounge chair rental/reservation. 4 lounge chairs and 3 admission tickets added up to $280. We didn't think anything of it, because of what we saw on instagram: we were paying for an experience. Well; we definitely did! Upon arrival, the parking lot was blocked off at the end near the entrance of the park; so everyone was making u-turns in the parking lot. This park genuinely needs more greenery and trees, because it feels so industrial. It is covered in faux turf and concrete for the most part. We went to cabana cove to get our lounge chairs, and nearly all of them are covered in bird droppings. Kinda disappointing for something considered "VIP" in the park. On a hot day in Wesley Chapel, it's important to be able to beat the heat in the water. Only, the water here is completely disgusting. Imagine specs of miscellaneous debris floating around in the water, not to mention the thick layer of sunscreen on the surface of the water. Not to mention the water is ice cold, so it is nearly painful to get in the water after sweating in the burning heat. In addition to that, this is allegedly built to feel like a "beach", yet your view is quite literally someone else's driveway and garage across the pool. Yes, I said pool. There is nothing "lagoon" or "beach" about this place. Since we couldn't swim much, we decided to pass time and order food. The cocktails are pretty decent and mostly yummy. So that was an unexpected surprise. Still a bad idea to drink alcohol without a way to cool off. Anyways, the food was way below mediocre. Everything made with chicken on the menu is made with mushy, precooked chicken. The hummus platter is served with mushy vegetables. The only thing worth stomaching was the french fries which were actually pretty great. But again; the last thing I want in burning hot weather is fried food or alcohol. This is your friendly reminder to not believe everything you see on instagram! This place is good for children who don't care about these things, but most definitely not for adults. I would have been better off going to the beach, not mentioning saving OVER $280 between lounge chairs, simple admission, and food. Safe to say this will be my first and last time here.

Location: Adventure Island Date: June 27, 2026…read moreService: Waterpark Today I went for the first time ever to adventure Island Park. Unfortunately the park close early this evening due to weather conditions. The ones I said ensure that all the customers left the park safely and promptly. I was with a group and we made sure we stick together and listen to all the required announcements. Call and Jade assisted me at the snack shack where they have pizza and soft serve unfortunately they did not have any software available at the time when I was there or they didn't have any pepperoni ready either they just told me 15 to 20 minutes wait. Matthew at the front gate assisted taking a picture for us with the group We appreciate that Thank you very much. I managed to pick up a souvenir from my family before exiting the park.

What I like about the park is that there is enough activity for the kids to stay busy and my kids love being in the water also they have a regular pool and a wave pool. There is floating donuts for free to use in the lazy river and the lazy river is pretty long so you don't get bored. The wave pool is a good size and can fit a lot of people, also they have plenty of lifeguards on duty not just in the wave pool but I'm all the water activity areas and also security just in case things get out of hand. The rides are pretty fun and most of the time the lines where not that long of you can purchase a 'fast pass' type to get ahead in line. What I did not like about the park overall, the parking fee is $40 just to park when it should be included in the entree fee and also I didn't like that they did not try to fix our situation with groupon by letting us in with proof of our purchase untill one of their employees decided to look for my name and bam! He found my tickets. Overall, I am not sure I would comeback We waited a long time to get this issue resolved and no one tried to do much. I also noticed that the trash bins in this place were completely full and food trash was falling from the trash bins causing for the birds to get the extra food and fight over it. Overall, this park had a lot of lifeguards and security but it looked dirty and trashy. If you come in the summer time the place will be packed with lots of roudy kids.

There are restrooms here that make it easy to change your children into their bathing suits. They also have shaded picnic tables. The splash pad and playground is gated so you can let the kids run around inside while you sit and chat on the outside of the gate at the shaded picnic tables. I would highly recommend bringing swimsuits and all your water stuff if you decide to come here, because the playground part is quite small and in the same area as the splash pad. They aren't separated, so your child will most likely get wet whether you want them to or not if you come here, better to just prepare for them to get wet. The splash pad has one of those buckets that fill up and then dump all over the children, which I find kids absolutely love. There is also a ropes climbing part that they can get to a crows nest, so I would say the ideal age for this play area is between four and 10. I have a five year-old and a seven-year-old and they loved it.
