I've lived here for 7 years and have watched this community evolve--unfortunately, not always for the better. While there have been some positives, the overall direction, especially in recent years, has been disappointing. The biggest issue is a clear decline in customer experience. The Metro Development Group management team seems to have lost sight of what made this place successful in the first place: its residents. The very people who built the Lagoon's reputation are now being treated like an afterthought. One example is the entry process. Residents used to have a dedicated entry and bag check, which made sense and showed value for membership. That has slowly been phased out, leaving members stuck in long general admission lines. For a paid membership experience, that's simply unacceptable. Even more frustrating is the constant rollout of new systems that feel unfinished. Instead of leveraging existing member data, residents are repeatedly forced to re-register as if they're brand new. This creates unnecessary confusion--for both members and staff--and leads to avoidable issues. This past weekend, I watched a longtime "legacy member" family of five get told only the father existed in the system. The rest of the family had been removed and would need to enter as guests. That's not just inconvenient--it's embarrassing and unacceptable for a venue of this caliber. I had a similar experience myself. I used my membership card to check in and purchase a drink with no issue. Less than an hour later, the same card suddenly "didn't exist" in the system. I was forced to go through the entire setup process again. There's clearly a lack of consistency and reliability in their system. At this point, it feels like this location is being used as a testing ground for new processes rather than being properly managed. If that's the case, there's little evidence that feedback is being implemented or that improvements are being made for this community. Metro needs leadership with real hospitality experience--someone who understands how to run a high-quality, member-focused venue and deliver a consistent experience. If management is reading this: please remember what made this Lagoon successful. Invest in your residents, fix the systems, and bring back the level of service this community deserves. This was the first Lagoon in the U.S.--it should be one of the best, not one of the most frustrating. read more

After seeing this attraction posted all over TikTok and Instagram, when my mom was in town we decided to check it out for the first time. On the website, there is no indication that lounge chairs are first come first serve and free, so we rented the lounge chairs for the 3 of us in Cabana Cove. Then we had to pay admission on top of the lounge chair rental/reservation. 4 lounge chairs and 3 admission tickets added up to $280. We didn't think anything of it, because of what we saw on instagram: we were paying for an experience. Well; we definitely did! Upon arrival, the parking lot was blocked off at the end near the entrance of the park; so everyone was making u-turns in the parking lot. This park genuinely needs more greenery and trees, because it feels so industrial. It is covered in faux turf and concrete for the most part. We went to cabana cove to get our lounge chairs, and nearly all of them are covered in bird droppings. Kinda disappointing for something considered "VIP" in the park. On a hot day in Wesley Chapel, it's important to be able to beat the heat in the water. Only, the water here is completely disgusting. Imagine specs of miscellaneous debris floating around in the water, not to mention the thick layer of sunscreen on the surface of the water. Not to mention the water is ice cold, so it is nearly painful to get in the water after sweating in the burning heat. In addition to that, this is allegedly built to feel like a "beach", yet your view is quite literally someone else's driveway and garage across the pool. Yes, I said pool. There is nothing "lagoon" or "beach" about this place. Since we couldn't swim much, we decided to pass time and order food. The cocktails are pretty decent and mostly yummy. So that was an unexpected surprise. Still a bad idea to drink alcohol without a way to cool off. Anyways, the food was way below mediocre. Everything made with chicken on the menu is made with mushy, precooked chicken. The hummus platter is served with mushy vegetables. The only thing worth stomaching was the french fries which were actually pretty great. But again; the last thing I want in burning hot weather is fried food or alcohol. This is your friendly reminder to not believe everything you see on instagram! This place is good for children who don't care about these things, but most definitely not for adults. I would have been better off going to the beach, not mentioning saving OVER $280 between lounge chairs, simple admission, and food. Safe to say this will be my first and last time here. read more

We had a great day but it was disappointing that they gave time slots to when you could kayak and could only do it during that time. During that one hour the lifeguards were late and closed down 15 minutes early because of understaffing so we didn't have enough time to kayak or SUP. Lifeguards didn't seem to enjoy their job and were not helpful. Drinks and food (especially drinks) were too expensive. Water fountains not cold. They should put in a lazy river. I went early October for a kids birthday celebration. This is a great place for kids and families, but you are nickel and dime for everything except parking. You are not allowed to bring anything you would typically bring to the beach picnic or pool even . You are allowed a water bottle that's closed empty Stanley's or containers no alcoholic beverages no speakers . The staff is kind, but it seems they are all young, which would make sense if they are from the neighborhood this lagoon is located in . There were enough lifeguards, and they seem to run things efficiently after witnessing an incident But you have to pay for drinks food for the water sports... If you are a residence, everything's a lot cheaper . we did run into a mishap when we were sold kayaking tickets and we walked all the way to the kayaking area to launch which is a good four minute walk they told us they were no longer launching at 5 o'clock on the Internet. It says 630 is when water sports stops and because the individual did not have a walkie-talkie, he instructed us to go find his boss with no description, but only a name to verify it was OK for us to launch at 5 o'clock though on the Internet it states 6:30 PM. Once we found the individual she was kind and she allowed us to kayak. We had to walk all the way back over across the lagoon to launch. I think they need better communication and more consistency in their rules and also better judgment. This place was not crowded. We had an issue with our digital tickets but Becky the manager took care of us and was very helpful and kind. What a fun spot you get to grab a chair and relax with a huge pool to enjoy and they have bumper boats, stand up paddle board, kayaks, a big slide, and obstacle course to play on for only $12 upgrade from the $30 price. There's a full bar that's a swim up bar and had a couple satellite bars around. They also have a quick service spot to eat at. It got really busy around 1230 or so. This was a really fun place to cool off from the Florida sun. My family(3) got entry, and an all day splash pas for under $100 via Groupon. The splash pass benefits are: * Access to the obstacle course. * Paddle boarding. * Kayaking. * Water Slides. * Bumper Boats. Note: If you want to do these activities, there are charges per activity; without the Splash Pass. The facility, is well kept, clean and it is HUGE! No matter where you are at in the pools, you are not surrounded by people. They have cabanas for rent for $200 dollars, seems like a waste of money, but you don't a waste time going to the ER with heat stroke. Ps..they sell out fast. We got there early before they opened, because we didn't know what to expect and we are glad we went during the morning, the afternoon crowed comes in a pack around 2:30pm, but no worries there are LIMITED passes they sell for entry. We bought tickets on group on. The climbing structure is not the same as the picture. But overall it was a fun day. The group on was worth it but I wouldn't pay the full price to go there. It's a big pool with some climbing structures and paddle boards/kayaks. You Can't bring anything food related or drink in. But you can leave and return. There's a Publix and chick filet close by. The food and drinks are expensive and it's card only! We brought an umbrella, floats, lots of sunblock and noodles! The bumper boats were fun but it's a small area. read more

We took our family here while on vacation in Florida, and it was a great way to break up our beach-heavy trip. We found a Groupon deal and paid $202 for a family of five, which included admission and splash passes. The splash pass gave us access to the water park, water slide, bumper boats, kayaks, and paddle boards--we tried it all and had a blast! We arrived right when they opened and were able to grab lounge chairs in the shade, which was perfect. They also offer water cabanas, regular cabanas, and chairs with umbrellas if you want to rent them. The pool is massive and beautiful--definitely a highlight. We grabbed lunch at their on-site "restaurant," which was more like a concession stand with typical overpriced food. Nothing special, but it did the job. Bottom line: My kids had a great time and gave it a big thumbs up. I'm not sure if we'd go again, but if they asked to, I'd definitely consider it. read more

We chose Epperson Lagoon to host our 17th wedding anniversary celebration and rented three AquaBanas for 24 guests. What should have been a memorable day turned into one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've encountered. An employee approached our group and requested that we lower our music. Although we disagreed that the volume was excessive, we immediately complied. A short time later, the same employee returned with two Pasco County Sheriff's deputies and falsely claimed that we had been warned multiple times. We had not. We received one request and complied immediately. This created an unnecessary public confrontation in front of our guests and caused embarrassment during what was supposed to be a special milestone celebration. Ultimately, it became clear that no disturbance had occurred and that no guest complaints had been made. The most disappointing part was management's response. No senior manager came to speak with us. No meaningful apology was offered. Communication was handled through a bartender, who was excellent throughout the day and deserved far better than being placed in that position. After spending thousands of dollars on admissions, three AquaBanas, food, and beverages, management's solution was to comp a few food items and call the matter resolved. The issue was never the cost of the food. The issue was the false accusations, the unnecessary involvement of law enforcement, and the disruption of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cannot be recreated. Epperson Lagoon is a beautiful facility, but based on our experience, I would think twice before trusting them with an important event. read more

The experience itself is fine. Kayaking is nice, so is the paddle boarding, and the water obstacle course is fun. The lines are long but not terrible or unreasonable. Prices are a bit high but again not terrible or completely unreasonable. The problem is the customer service. All the crew is rude and moody. Not nice at all, especially the lifeguards. I think its great to employ young adults/teenagers but they need to focus on customer service more when training or something. One particular lifeguard called out an obese kid in front of a group of 30 ish people for not fitting in his life vest properly. I understand that is their job, but again there a more professional manner to go about things that these kids are not grasping. Definitely need to improve on that. read more

Coming here mid-week is the flex. I would never come here on a weekend or holiday and probably won't come here in high traffic summer (which is soon approaching). They also make this place look gigantic on the website with overhead views but I low key might buy an annual pass to adventure island just because there's more entertainment. BUT since St. Pete beach is more than an hour away, this is a cute place to play bookie during the week. Come with a friend and spend the day and catch up or makes a cute friends day and hang out at the walk up bar in the water or go on the slide or paddle boarding etc. it's cute. I'd come back. I would only ever buy a cabana or chairs with an umbrella if it's crowded or I wasn't going to my fave real beach because then it guarantees you a spot. I'd hate this place if it got too crowded plus I can see the parking lot filling up fast and I don't know where people park after that. I like that there's no seaweed and tons of hot sand to walk through BUT the love bugs are diabolical. It is a swating event out here and bees too. I have to go out into the water sometimes to escape them. There's also seagulls waiting for you to give them an opening with your food so don't leave it unattended. I wish they had a lazy river with this outline of the lake that they created as safe swimming space. But then it would be an attraction and it would be crowded ALL THE TIME lol. Had a ball! The DJ knew what he was doing. All music types were played. The Dj came out about 4p. This is a family friendly establishment but they have a lot of things for adults to do whether you are there with friends, family, alone and or with kids in the group. Definitely a vibe. If you have a golf cart you can ride it over and park it in the front. Get in where you fit in. There are a few food options to choose from but what is available - the food is great! We also got lemonades from the lemonade stand and that was delish! Freshly squeezed & made. Will definitely be back. read more

This fun swimming pool is amazing! With a lot of extra activities from a giant water slide to kayaks, paddle boards, jumping floats, to a swim up bar with awesome drinks. I had a decent time going for the first time with a group of friends, no kids. We bought our tickets online the day before and went on a Saturday morning. The parking lot was getting full so it's better to go early especially on the weekend during the summer. We purchased the splash pass to include kayaking, paddle boarding, and bumper boats. We also purchased a mini tiki lounge. Overall, the park appeared to be clean. Bathrooms were also decent. We bought food and drinks in the park. Food was just regular mediocre meals like chicken tenders, nachos, pizza, and burgers. We got drinks from the swim up bar and they were strong which was great. I purchased tickets in advance for my family while we were visiting from Connecticut. Unfortunately, it rained the day of our visit, and most of the rides had already been closed due to the weather. Before checking in, I spoke with the young woman at the counter, who explained that if we checked in, we would not be eligible for a refund because of the weather. She told me that if I emailed customer service, they would gladly either refund my purchase or extend the tickets. Based on that information, I sent an email. Customer service denied the refund but responded that they would extend our tickets. At the end of July, I emailed again to schedule a new visit, only to be told that the tickets I had purchased--including the cabana for four people and the ride passes--could not be extended after all. This was over a $200 purchase. I replied with a copy of the original email stating that my tickets would be extended, but they simply responded "no" and then stopped replying to my emails altogether. This was an extremely disappointing experience. The lack of communication, inconsistent information, and poor customer service left us feeling like our concerns didn't matter. I cannot recommend this place based on how this situation was handled. You're better off spending a fraction of the cost at a public beach and avoiding the frustration. read more

Not much nice to say other than the bar tenders were great. We drove 9 hrs down and spent 3 hrs out of the water for lightning 12 miles away. I get it and am all for safety. While we waited, concessions ran out of almost everything.... It took 45 minutes to get chicken Nuggets and there was no ice cream to be found. When we finally got the chance to get back the water, we stood in line for 45 minutes for life jackets to the obstacle course (while hoping no more lightning struck within a 50 mile radius) to find out they didn't have one available in his size and the one we brought from home (which actually better quality than what was being offered) but ours wouldn't work...we finally got a "qualifying" life vest just to get whistles blown at everything and eventually kicked off the course. Forgive my French but F!CK THAT PLACE! We bought VIP and wasted so much $$$. We will NEVER recommend this spot nor return. What a waste! read more

Our first time at Epperson Lagoon was incredibly enjoyable, it really surpassed our expectations. Every single staff member whom we interacted with was really nice, from the time we arrived, till the time our day of fun was over. We enjoyed our time by the pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas. The drinks were reasonably priced and so was the food. Kiki and Chelsea were absolutely amazing, we were really blown away by their hospitality, it was an absolute pleasure to be helped by them. They are a real asset to the establishment and I hope management is aware of how wonderful they made our experience. The bathrooms were very clean and the children's activities were so much fun. It's a great establishment for family fun! We will definitely be back, especially before Summer comes along and it's unbearably hot!!! read more

The lagoon is nice for a relaxing afternoon, but for the money we spent, we would've gotten more value from Adventure Island which is the same price and allows us unlimited trips during the season. We rented one of these not so private floating cabanas and were inundated with kids who didn't belong there, jumping around and slip sliding into the empty ones. On multiple occasions, we complained about the issue, but nothing was done. It was $300 to rent this for the day, I feel like it was a waste of money. The food and drinks are good but overpriced. We spent another $300 on food for 1 adult and 3 kids. The view around the lagoon is houses, so you're constantly reminded you're basically in someone's community pool. I think if you live in Epperson, this is a nice idea, but I don't think it's worth the money of a day trip if you live somewhere else. read more

The Lagoon is always a great experience if you want to sit poolside and have a great time! Pro tip for navigating the FL heat and avoiding being surrounded by tons of children: go in the evening, and thank me later. I love that they offer a "Late Day" pass which is valid 3pm-close, my friends and I arrived at 5pm and a wave of families were leaving once we got there. The main con is PARKING--surprise, surprise; however, it is the summer, so anything involving water in FL is bound to be packed. We walked about a mile, which wasn't horrible, but I'd recommend adding lights to the far parking lots or having security escort folks using the golf carts. Where we parked, there were none, and I felt unsafe walking as a woman with no security in the pitch dark, regardless of being in a safe area. I used my phone flashlight, which helped a bit. Unfortunately, the adults-only Cabana Cove area was sold out (con of going the day after school lets out in FL), but my friends and I still enjoyed ourselves in the main area. We moved closer to the bar so we could easily order drinks, and that kept us away from the vast majority of the kids and gave us a great view of all the water sports activities, so we were thoroughly entertained throughout our time. We ordered 3 margarita flights--the May special made them only $12 for 3 full drinks (blackberry, mango, and lime were the flavors offered). I also ordered 2 frozen Miami Vices. If you love a sweet drink, this is THE ONE--so tasty! As for food options, we had the pizza, although not pictured, my friends and I did not enjoy it. The fries, however, were great--seasoned and made hot! Overall, The Lagoon offers a fun experience, especially if you visit in the evening. Just be prepared for parking challenges, and consider bringing a flashlight if you park in the far lots. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Epperson Lagoon on the last day of our trip. The lagoon itself is beautiful and well-kept, but our experience was a bit mixed. We bought day passes online (with a military discount) for about $76, but didn't realize we also needed to purchase a separate Splash Pass for the activities, which cost another $20 per person. When we arrived around 4 PM, we were told in person that the Splash Pass wristbands were required to participate in the activities--so we paid for them. But once the activities started, we noticed a lot of people joining in without wristbands. It felt unfair, considering we were specifically told we needed them to join. One of the activities was also cut short due to weather, and although the skies cleared later, the lagoon never fully reopened. Overall, it's a beautiful place, but the pricing and inconsistent enforcement of rules left us a little disappointed. Just make sure you know exactly what you're paying for before you go. read more

Overpriced for what you get! As our Uber driver stated, "You are paying for this? It's basically someone's backyard." This lagoon wasn't crystal clear as you see on the website. It's quite dirty and unorganized. The "lifeguards" don't even care people are cutting in line or kids are being bullied on the obstacle course. They told us all the "cabanas" were sold out yet we saw 6 unoccupied. Didn't see anyone servicing the cabanas that actually had people in them so not sure what you get besides somewhere to sit. Food is only located at one place and took about 30 mins to get a pizza and fries. I would suggest to bring only what you need because there is only 1 locker area. The bar staff were nice and the drinks were fairly inexpensive. I heard this place was once as advertised but have gone done the past few years. This place is not what it's made out to be. We paid for a day pass with the splash pass($42) , and they didn't have the full obstacle course. Then there was no more open chair seating left whatsoever, but there is a ton of umbrella chair seating so we sat there. they made us move(and other people by us) or we told us to purchase the chairs for $50. You might as well just go to a waterpark in Orlando at Disney or volcano Bay for $70-$80 and not be told where you can and can't sit and only have one slide in the whole area. We had no problem with moving chairs, but there was none available whatsoever. Definitely yet not worth the money. read more

I visited a friend in Tampa and she wanted to go to this place and it was a complete bust & waste. The drive north from Tampa was long, about 45 minutes. When we arrived there wasn't a line but the staff up from in the box office did make entry a bit confusing. We had VIP passes. We ordered food and drinks at the bar, the hip & jazzy mixologist who moved from GA was so kind and helpful. I had the Lagoon burger, w/ garlic aioli and fries & a really fruity and STRONG drank. The live DJ was decent and the NBA Finals was on so that was nice to watch. We enjoyed the open setting float devices while eating lunch. Food didn't take long but since we arrived after 6pm on Friday evening we didn't have much time to enjoy the VIP amenities and were NOT allowed to swim after 8pm & this information wasn't displayed on their website nor were we told this upon entry. More than $200 was paid to have a nice time and the best thing we received was the customer service from our lively mixologist, Cocktail S. After waiting more than 30 minutes to speak to a Supervisor we were even more frustrated so we left. I wouldn't ever return. read more

The obstacle course you're only allowed on in 30 minute increments so you have go, get out 30 minutes later and then wait 30 minutes and go back. But it gets old quick. Overall for the money, the experience is average. The prices are all over online. on Groupon it's $40, $35 with the discount but it has to be days in advance. On the website it says the price is $45, but you save $10 per ticket at checkout.. however ours was not discounting it, so we waited to buy at the place. There they charged us $65 per ticket, but said they couldn't honor the online price or military/ teacher discount in person. They also didn't have a customer representative available when we tried to call about the issue, so we had to pay the $65 per person which seems really expensive. Once inside the kids really enjoyed the amenities and the food/drinks were of expected price and decent. The workers did not seem well educated on the functions of the park outside their roles, it's basically a bunch of really young adults/ kids running the place with no real adult management involved.. which lead to poor communication, misunderstandings and delays. read more

Epperson Lagoon is acres of a man made crystal clear water lagoon. This was your luxury hotel pool on steroids. It is not a resort. It's a luxury water park. If you enjoy water parks then you have to go to Eppperson. The area offers a variety of activities, areas for lounging, drinking and dining. For additional fees there is a huge obstacle course, paddle boarding, kayaking and a VIP area. For the price of admission you get access to a huge area of clear water with different depths to suit your style. There is a beach type area with chairs where you can set up and enjoy the water, or shallow areas if you want to grab a drink & chill. There is a large bar with food. The exterior of the bar has pool access so you can swim right up grab a bevie. You can't bring in any food or drink. There are several dining options. There are rules about what comfort items you can bring (no pop up tents) VIP was worth it. But if you're going with 4 or more then get a cabana. You have a private bar, private pool and close access to restrooms We stayed at the suggested hotel on their website which we also enjoyed. We stayed over a long weekend and enjoyed other things in the area. Lots of places to shop, eat & stay. read more

Don't leave your hotel if you have a slide or a pool. When we visited, it was extremely busy. If you are an adult looking for R&R, prob not the right place... Water was not comfortable. Low 70's. Bring a towel. They don't rent or offer complimentary towels. Food is decent. Try the hotdog. Arrive early in the day as the place fills up quickly. Reserve a cabana. Parking is free, the drinks are really decent priced, and the pool is fun. This is just a giant swimming pool. You get nickels and dime for the all the rest. This is great for the resident & people that live near by. I don't live close. I paid for admission, then umbrella, then for the fun obstacle course that you can only do one time. My group did all the stuff and was bored in 2 hours. You need to bring your own towel and an empty tumblr. No outside food or drinks. There are water fountains to fill up your tumbl but you have to find ice. Tip your bartender. Their food price is reasonable. You need to buy your tickets in advance or run the risk of selling out. The drive to this place was smooth I didn't have to jump on to I-4 or 275 or 85 so that was a plus Honestly, for the total price I paid I would've been better off going to an actual water. Yes, I have to pay for parking but I can bring my own food & drinks. I can ride the slide as many time as I want. I had a good time. There is lockers but I had a water proof Fanny pack that was nice it's worked. I carried my phone and keys their. Wear water shoes & bring tons of sunscreen. The downside is trash. I went on a sold out day and stay until 4 most people were gone but trash was all over the place & at one point in the pool. read more

I just want to say that the actual facility is amazing anything and everything from the swim up bar areas kayak, paddleboard, inflatable adventure park in Beach Lake lagooon where there's tons of shallow area for children. I love the turf area in order to watch games the VIP cabanas, and the floating cabanas were absolutely gorgeous. Such a good time! I booked an aqua cabana 2 months prior to my birthday event... the night before my event I received an email my pod was damaged during a recent rain storm. Brianna took the time to email me to help reschedule but with my birthday coming up and a hard time coordinating my friends I could not reschedule my event! Brianna took the time to walk me into the park and set up a little area for me. We had a blast!!! I will be returning with my kids and we will frequent this part in the future!
