The staff was incredibly helpful the entire time! Wake board rental was roughly $48 per person for two hours. Well worth it for the experience! This was the sun west seafood festival. We love seafood and had out of town guests with us. First off, it was $5.00 to park! Then $15.00 to get in! We walked past every booth, exploring what each one served, foods, trinkets, T shirts and other hand made craft items. We settled on grouper sandwiches from burger boyz, a Hispanic twist on some of the worst foods we've ever eaten. I just wanted clam strips. (You usually get a good sized portion) not this place! 2 huge scoops of nasty, cold rice with very little flavor and it was a bit mushy. Then a tiny cup , half filled with soured coleslaw. Just a handful of small clam strips. When I say small, I mean half the size of a normal clam strips. They were ok. $10.00 for a very watered down lemonade. The food and drink cost close to $40.00!!!! Lousy food, lousy service! Now the funnel cake was from a food truck called, A fork in the road. THEY are the only reason for 2 stars. The funnel cake was fried to a golden brown and loaded with powdered sugar. Very delicious. Their price $10.00, reasonable for how thick and large the funnel cake was. The 2 young men serving were pleasant and eagerly smiled as they held up their masterpiece. There were tents set up with tables and chairs. But, there were no lights so we had to eat in the dark. There was a band playing. They were pretty good, playing rock and roll. To be honest with anyone reading this review, we will not go back to one of these seafood festivals. The food was terrible, the service was bad and the prices were ridiculously stupid! Definitely not worth the money. By the time we made it home, none of us were feeling good. We were bloated, a bit nauseated too. Sorry to say, but this was the worst seafood festival we've ever been to. read more

First of all, I don't like that you have to pay to park, but it is what it is. I don't know if this is man-made or just another inlet of water that they turned into a beach, but it's good if you only want to go to the beach for a couple hours to get some sun and walk in the water once or twice. It's definitely not made for adults to go swimming in, but great for kids. They just want to play in the water and the sand. The sand is good, they even have a handicap walk out on the beach to make it easy for those in wheelchairs. They do not have any beach wheelchairs, however, at least that's what I was told by someone who worked there. They are very few handicap parking spots. read more

Not what I expected. It's very shallow. Lots of pot smoking loud music and just not family friendly the day we visited. It's busy if you stay in the busier areas it's a little less of porn rap and swearing. I'm not a Karen everyone has a right to enjoy themselves but this is just plain uncomfortable. read more

STAY HOME A HUGE WASTE OF TIME!!!! The SunWest NON beach has undergone transformations that have resulted in its primary focus being on water sports. This has left very little room for an actual beach and water deep enough to swim in. My bathtub water is deeper than this horrible place of a NON beach. We stopped here for my husbands 50th birthday. They have wakeboarding which he loved, and a lovely beach. Even though it isn't the ocean, it looks like Pinellas county beaches. The bathrooms were clean and nice, the swim area is very small, but the people (both the staff and they other customers) are incredibly kind. We were blown away. The wakeboard operator was engaged with the people going offering helpful tips and tricks with a smile. Thanks for offering such a fun place to hang out or play in Pasco/Hernando County! To park at the beach, it is $5. The wakeboarding and the on the water obstacle course are extra $$- but WELL worth it. read more

Awesome little gem of a beach! Very family friendly with bathrooms, fresh water showers, and a food truck that serves fresh tasty hot dogs, piña colada's, snow cones, and all types of great refreshments. The beach it's self is small but not too small, perfect size for it not to get too over crowded. There's lots fun water activities for family and kids to enjoy. The water is clear with a white sandy bottom. Also parking is only $5 for all day. Great place to come make memories with loved ones on a trip to FL. read more

Went to this park for the second time recently for the Crab and Shrimp Festival on a sunny Sunday. The festival was well organized, with lots of food trucks and merchandise vendors. My husband and I stopped at a t-shirt vendor selling 50 spf color printed shirts with a fish and mermaid themes for ourselves and the grandchildren. The entertainment featured a great reggae trio from Land O Lakes, and a Justin Timberlake tribute performer, whose wife and 3 gorgeous children sat near us. This would be a great venue for a holiday party - I'm thinking 4th of July with a fireworks show - for Pasco County residents. Easy to get to off Route 19. read more

Very super fun lake to go to and the water obstacle course was awesome. The only reason I give it a 4/5 is because they don't let you go out into the lake. There's a barrier holding you back. Other than that, the obstacle course was super fun the food trucks were delicious. read more

Hidden gem recommended by our Lyft driver that turned out to be great since the red tide wouldn't let us go to the beach! They offer an obstacle course that does tend to get packed and fills up quickly but is $15 for 45 minutes! Beach area is free and is a man made beach with what we believed was fresh water. They have several activities available, kayak, wake boarding etc and have a Groupon deal that makes it very affordable. Parking is only $5 all day BUT remember to pay at the pay station and place your receipt on your car's dash as they do not charge by license plate. Also, they have showers and bathrooms avaialiable and several food trucks with picnic tables by beach area. Overall great spot to visit if nearby springs are packed! read more

Prob more like 3.5 stars. Clearwater Beach or St. Pete Beach it is not. But if you're in this area it's nice to have a place to go to relax on the sand, have a snow cone, philly steak, listen to music outside, swim, play volleyball, rent a kayak or SUP (I think it's $10 for 45 minutes which seems a great way to give it a try... ) It's a former mine site that is now basically a large salwater lake. There's also an inflated water play area you can pay to access. Sunwest Park costs $5 per car load. There are lifeguards (and some cute ones at that..) They've done a bit of landscaping, there are showers and bathrooms, a covered picnic area. They brought in sand. Enjoy. Definitely a Hudson scene.. read more

We looked on Google and on the Internet but couldn't find any really decent beaches. Some local beaches have been closed, possibly due to red tide. I went to yelp and found this and was delighted. It's not the golf, it's a lake, but it's clean and healthy and all of my kids had a grand time. They've got restrooms, which is really nice. They have a number of adventure activities with your niece as well. It's a great little spot. read more

So fun! Went because the family wanted to, but was pleasantly surprised at how fun it is! Kids loved it. I think they are overpriced (that's why only 4stars) it's $15.00 per person, so for a family of four $60.. for only 45 minutes of course play. But the beach is free. First and last time I come and visit this facility. My family and I came for a day of fun but it turned into a terrible experience thanks to the poor management in this facility. Our family paid in cash for the obstacle course and my fiancé had filled out all the waivers and asked the ticket tender girl if she can leave the cash with her as the kids and myself were in the water. No wristbands were exchanged, no receipt given and no mention on not getting your money back if lightning in the area is detected. When they did cancel the obstacle course due to lightning they refused to give back the money. Manager argued that the sign inside the trailer which is barely visible states the refund policy. This is a complete joke! That sign should be outside the trailer so it is clearly visible for everyone to see!!! The manager said if they had that sign outside an angry customer might take it down! Are you kidding me!??? This in my opinion is a scam! They said the only way to get your money back is to show an out of state license and thankfully another guest in line showed her NY license and we were able to get our money back. Absolutely do not recommend this place, my friends and I went here and spent $100 for nothing, the staff seem like they don't care about their costumers and we're left confuse the whole we were there, we tried asked if we can at least do something else with our pass but they said they're unable to help us with it. I took 12 girls there for my daughters birthday party to go in the aqua park. There were 22 kids total going in the time spot they were. The employee spent less than a minute going over rules and all the kids were talking so none of them could hear her. Within the first 3 minutes of their 45 minute time spot, one of the girls in our group apparently did something against the rules when jumping and was banned for the entire time so had to sit out and watch the other 11 - which the other girls felt bad so kept coming out of the water to check on her. I tried talking to the worker who was incredibly rude and refused to even listen to me. Meanwhile she was allowing another child, who did not have a wristband nor was tall enough or old enough to be in the area that specifically said no trespassing or swimming, to swim and play in there without a wristband. I am all for following rules but employees shouldn't be picking and choosing which rules they want to follow. read more

I went yesterday with another mom, and we each have two boys ages between 9-13. We booked and completed the waiver online but still had to wait in a very long, slow moving line to get our bands to play on the obstacle course. If they could have two separate lines to process those who booked ahead and those who didn't, that would have been easier and appreciated. Everyone had fun on the obstacle course. Forty-five minutes goes quickly and seems too fast for the long drive and hen line to do it. We've done it before elsewhere where you could be on it for at least two hours, but it was bigger so more people could play at one time. Overall, it was fun, and the kids all enjoyed it. Not sure I would drive 45 minutes for another day of only 45 minutes. The kids did play on the beach and in the water after, so it was worth it for the experience. read more

We went to this park on a weekday while we were on vacation. The park was very clean, and we enjoyed relaxing in the white sand while the kids played in the water and built sand castles. The best part was the Aqua Park. We paid $10 per child for a 45 minute session and our children (ages 9, 11, and 14) loved it! SunWest Park, or "the mines", is a great local beach for friends and family. Parking is a breeze and the parking lot is right next to the beach... making carting 10,000 lbs of kid's beach stuff and toddlers as easy as it's going to get. There are also giant inflatable obstacle courses in the water and food trucks. Overall, a great experience! read more

In theory this place is awesome. Cable park is a nice addition. The people running the actual cable seem to be in no rush to get people on the boards because there's a long lag time between riders for no apparent reason. "Like Swimming at a Very Large Clean Lake with Sand" We decided to stop and check out Hudson Beach Park-Definitely do not recommend THAT BEACH... SO WE LEFT THERE and figured we'd check out the new SUNWEST PARK. It just opened this year. (They still aren't done developing it yet. So far, so good!) The Parking Fee is $5 (Exact bills Only-no change given at the machine.) The Entire Park Grounds are smoke-free. No Tobacco Products allowed. No Alcohol of any kind allowed. (May be subjected to searches.) You can bring in food, but no grills of any kind allowed. (There was a Best of Philly food truck and a Snow Ice truck.) The Lake is spring-fed, but connected to a saltwater channel that extends from the Gulf, so it is mildly salty. Very comfortable water temperature. Pretty clear also. There is a humongous white sandy beach area encircling the water. (Some parts aren't open yet, but there is plenty of room.) There are lifeguards on duty. There is a large swimming area, roped off, about 4 feet deep and a deeper area (maybe 8 ft) roped off for experienced swimmers. There are showers right at the beginning (middle of the parking lot) and bathrooms at the far end of the parking lot. Umbrellas & Beach Chairs (without logos, except sports & school) are allowed. You must be 48" tall to play on the inflatables on the water and it costs extra. You can also rent kayaks and paddle boards for a fee. Overall we loved it (especially after Hudson Beach). Not having a designated smoking area will probably keep us from returning as much as we would like. I don't want everyone smoking on the beach, but at least a little area away from everyone would be nice. Hopefully in the future, they will be building more shelters (there is one by the bathrooms) and have grills available. read more

A place with water is just nothing to shout about. It's not shaded and the water is a quarry of warm nasty water. Plenty of kids there. No place to get drinks or food. It costs only 5 to get in but go to the real beach. read more

I'll start by stating things I read online BUT DID NOT witness: long wait, dirty & smelly water/ beach area and rude staff. First, we paid for reservations online for a week day slot & completed the waivers online as well. As stated on the website, they suggest that you arrive 60-90 mins prior to the start time to allow for parking & check-in. We arrived 45 mins prior to our start time for the aqua park and it took us 5 mins to check in. Quick & easy...so I advise everyone to arrive early as suggested. It took us longer to get through the parking ticket machine. It seemed that the cars before us were not aware of the $5 fee. We did not smell anything foul nor trash in the water or in the area we visited. The area was beautiful & clean. The orientation was about 2-3 mins & all staff members were great from start to finish. Only downside...I wish they offered longer play time options aside from the 45 mins. read more

This is a fun place to bring kids that are a little older and want to do the obstacle course. It is a different experience than the gulf beaches around here but still gets a lot of people. If you are wanting beautiful beaches and gulf views then this is not the place to come. read more

We went last summer 2019 it was amazing. We just went again spent $120 on are whole family. It was not good. There was spider webs on the monkey bars and the worst of it was the best part was the biggest attraction the slide and big jump was so deflated it was not useable. the kids were barely making it up. I tried once and said forget it. I asked about it getting inflated then the girl said she couldn't leave. Then I said this is crazy so she said she's get someone, they never came. I talked to the very young manager at the end and he said since we used are time...... I was like you have got to be kidding. I didn't even ask for a full refund I just wanted some kind of maybe voucher for some of the cost to come back. He said it was the weather and it happens! They need to run a test on the equipment before sending paying patrons out. read more

This review is for the wakeboarding. I was excited to try a new cable park since it's only 20 minutes from where I was staying. I've been to 18 other parks around the country. I didn't even end up going after looking out and seeing what features they had. They had one decent looking rail transfer rail then 2 kickers, a ramp kicker and a small up rail and a lot of empty riding with nothing to hit. Come on get some more rails. If I want to hit kickers I'd ride boat. read more
