fun downstream paddle! the only con is that when we visited in 2020, the length of the paddle was over 6 miles before you reached the pickup site. i was really disappointed to note that the pickup site has changed to now be at the 3 mile mark, making the kayak trip just half the distance. i really wished the pickup site hadn't changed so we could enjoy more of the spring

I went to Weeki Wachee couple times. Heard so much that I couldn't resist. Honestly, I wanted to see manatees, but I was told they are not there all the time. It's like they come for a season. Anyways, on my second trip I saw them briefly, huge things under the water. They were scared by the motor boat I guess because moved very fast. Despite the manatees it is an amazing place to be. Very beautiful and relaxing. The water is clear. It is an experience! I was given two hours, it was not enough either time. Really, control the paddle board, enjoy the scenery and make it within two hours, is a little short. Maybe for people who are sporty, it would be fine. But I met mostly families and they all were rushing. Also, I was told no getting in the water, yet there were so many people swimming that I didn't quite understand. I definitely recommend. For $40 it was definitely worth it.

The water and setting was beautiful. We saw a few fish and 2 birds and that was it. There were multiple motorized boats, so it was a little frustrating when they decided to go by and then by again. I was surprised they were allowed there. You check in and are given a life jacket, then you grab a paddle (many were chipped and broken) then go toward the boats. They drop them into the water, you hop in and go. You go down 2.8 miles and get out and they shuttle you back in a jankity, smelly van. It was pretty, fun and relaxing. For our family of 4, I don't know if was worth $120 for 1 1/2 hours. If there was more wildlife, I think maybe I'd feel different.

We had a GREAT time kayaking down the Springs The staff was very friendly and helpful. We rented a tandem kayak and safely, comfortably paddled down with our 3 year old little boy. We only saw one manatee but it was well worth it as the weather and views were beautiful! It was a great way to break up our drive down the FL coast. Would 10/10 recommend and will be back :)

I love Weeki Wachee Springs and I highly recommend traveling there for kayaking. It is great experience for kayaking beginners and experts. I rate Weeki Wachee Springs State Park Kayak Rentals a 4/5 or 8/10 because it was a great experience and the staff was very helpful, but we were disappointed that we could only rent the kayak for two hours (their new time limit). If you want a shorter trip, it is perfect for you. I recommend bringing your own kayak or trying a different kayak rental company if you want to be on the water for more than two hours. Regardless, it was a great experience and we enjoyed ourselves. Make sure to bring reusable water bottles and a wet bag to keep your items dry!

Stand in statues lot of them so fun

We all love Weeki Wacki Springs. The show of the little Mermaid under water Your was amazing the Staff was so kind and nice .

Had a great time, despite the weather. Also, signs pointed which way need to be larger and immediately straight through the entry point. I must've walked back and forth from the entry down to the ice cream place when all I wanted to do was just go in the water and lay on a chair on the back. Also I was not aware I could bring in my wagon to carry in my backpack for clothes and cooler and my pool doodle and my my own chair that I kept lugging back and forth bc there were only clear signs for the mermaid show and the ice cream shop. As someone that has Afib I seriously felt like I was going to pass out bc of walking back and forth trying to figure out how to just get to the water to relax.

I can't wait to go back! We had an amazing time this weekend. I had some friends visit from out of town and we've been planning to do this for months. Luckily we made reservations online 2-3 weeks prior since it was a July 4th weekend (glad we did it was completely sold out that day). One thing that bothered me was the many motorized boats. They people on them were respectable, etc it was just a little annoying to see the motorized stuff in such a beautiful place. The water was crystal clear in the beginning of the path especially in the state park area but then towards the very and you could see the water start to change to a darker green not so clear color. Overall our experience was amazing though, next time we go I'm gonna ask about going half way and then turning around and coming back on the kayak instead of going all the way to Rogers and waiting to the bus. It'd be much easier and much nicer of an experience.

Paddling Adventures is quite an adventure to say the least. The staff was helpful, and reservations are easy to make. They do get quite busy, so walk-ins may not be an option, unless maybe it is during the week. It is easier to call in advance. You get the kayak all day from the time you reserve it. Don't be late with the return time. You will be charged $50/hour. Sometimes it is hard to gauge time when you are in the river all comfy and calm, or you are busy crashing into trees ouch. When you reserve your kayak, your kayak is either going to be a single or tandem (double). Those are $32 or $37 respectively. They also have kayaks with pedals. I'd like to try those next time. They steer and you use pedals to move instead of using paddles. You will also get a life vest that you pick. The life vests and paddles are all in one area after you check out. When you are on the river, you will see it is very clear. You will see so much nature around you. There are areas where people can jump from trees or swing from ropes. You can turn into a monkey if you really want. The water in the river is 72 degrees all year long. I thought it would be cold, but it felt so nice, and for the most part really clear. I haven't kayaked in at least 5 years. It reminded me that when you paddle, think of your paddle as a spoon (the curvy part up). Also don't paddle too fast, you will end up spinning in a circle. Also a single kayak would be easier to me on your first time kayaking. When tandem, people need to be in sync. I love nature, and this is a great way to get up close and personal. Just watch out for the motorized vehicles that are there too. It is too small of a space for all of us.

Paddling Adventure just locates next to the Weeki Wachee Nature Park and state park. We have to reserve early for summer paddling. The time slots get full easily. So reservations are important for traveling so far a adventure. The people there are very courteous and they have plenty of workers that can help you immediately. They also have the restrooms with changing room after canoe and you can change the wet clothes. The adventure center certainly wants you to sign your life away for using their equipment. Liability check is usually not provided. Each one of us is going to pick up the paddle and life vests. The life vest could use some cleaning before next person using it. There are sweat can be smell of the life vests from previous use. The aluminum paddle could be change to carbon fiber material that is not conductive during the lighting storm conditions. The pickup point can use some shade while waiting for the bus. The bus just came less than 15 minutes. If you launch your own boat will require a launching $6 fees, and pickup $10 include your boat. If you rent the kayak is $34 per downstream trip. You need to reach the final destination by 5 pm or they will charge you over $50 per person for after hour pickup. The price we paid is fair and the service is quick.

We wanted to do a kayaking tour but (unfortunately) didn't plan far enough ahead. So they did not have any boats available as they had all been rented in the morning. But the staff was very nice on the phone and told us it was at least possible that some boats might be returned sometime after noon. No promises but we were in the car already... So we took a chance and decided to head up and see what might happen; and to just head into to the park and have some afternoon fun if it didn't work out. For a while we were thinking it wasn't going to work out and were deciding whether to make a reservation for tomorrow. But it was out lucky day! A couple of kayaks were returned and we were ready to roll around 1pm. Now the boats have to be returned by 5, but we figured 4 hours should be plenty. It was closer than we thought it would be - because we were having a great time! We stopped several times to eat, play, and watch manatees! It was awesome. We wound up having to go more quickly at the end, and that was a little exhausting. But really that was our only complaint. The staff was great, they help you get in, get out, and take you back to the parking area. Next time the only thing I would change is to make a reservation and get there earlier to spend more time on the river. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Awesome place. Beautiful water and park. The kayak paddle,3 miles, was great. Manatees are gone about March 20th for the summer season.

    Dog swimming areas?

You cannot launch from boating in Florida's launch with any animal. Technically you could launch from another site because I have seen Kayaks with dogs on board. Considering the fact that we have seen Gators and water moccasins it is probably not… Read more

Is this river exclusively for non-motorized kayaks and canoes?

no. Sadly (in my opinion) we have to share this river with motorized boats but it is all a "no wake zone" and is usually well patrolled by FWC and rangers, so it's safe for kayakers.

That was weird Then she didn't tell us we had to pay for parking at the dock neither did the guy that was at the dock when we got there! I overheard him telling someone after we were done for the day he said that they can park at the rental place and walk so they don't have to pay but we were already unloading and done with our rental. We got back to the car and had a $50 ticket. I would be fine with paying but I didn't see any of the signs or where to meter even was. I also told her I wasn't swimming and she said to get in the water you have to have an wetsuit which costs extra and I kept saying I'm not getting in the water but I she just ignored me and then I saw SO MANY PEOPLE not in wetsuits so that was irritating. And the wetsuits were in terrible shape they had holes and stains all over it she handed it to me and I was like thins is what I paid $100 for ? And she was like yeah they are all old. Thank you! I can't believe I saw the baby manatees. I literally cried. Cons: I was surprised they just let us out with no real guide! It was cool but I'm surprised they trusted us. We kinda got lost the first 90mins and didn't know where we going but eventually we got to the area where the manatees were gathering. A bit crowded and I felt bad everyone so close to the protected species. Overall a super a cool experience. We went during manatee festival in January so it was a bit crowded but not overwhelming. It was a beautiful day with beautiful site seeing. Def recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine smiles, warmth, and encouragement. I was personally a bit nervous since I hadn't paddle boarded much before, but every step of the way we felt supported and truly cared for. Hearing about the family's passion for protecting the ecosystem and the manatees, along with all the helpful tips they shared to optimize our experience, was absolutely incredible. When we got to the dock, we were guided so kindly - Mike even held our shoes in his truck for us! When he noticed me struggling a bit, he took the time to give me multiple tips on how to better move in the water and maneuver the board, which made such a difference. We saw so many manatees, including mama and baby pairs, which was unforgettable. When we returned to the dock and shared how excited we were, Mike went above and beyond once again by recommending another nearby location we could walk to where we ended up seeing even more manatees up close and personal. I would 10/10 recommend Manatee Paddle to anyone looking for an incredible manatee experience. I am so grateful to Mike and his family for making our day so special. THANK YOU!!

From the moment we showed up, they made us feel like family. Aidan was the first one to greet us, and right away you could tell how passionate he is about the river, the wildlife, and making sure every single guest feels confident before heading out on the boards. He has this calm, encouraging way about him that instantly puts you at ease--even if you've never stepped foot on a paddleboard before. He gave us tips, shared fun facts about the area, and somehow managed to keep the whole group laughing the entire time. Mike is the backbone of the operation--the guy making sure all the boards, paddles, and gear are in perfect condition, the one double-checking that everything runs smoothly so you don't have to worry about a thing. It's obvious how much pride he takes in the business, because everything is organized, well-maintained, and set up to give you the best possible experience. He's also just genuinely fun to chat with before and after you head out--one of those people who makes you feel like an old friend after five minutes. And then there's Mandy, who is truly the heart of the operation. She's warm, welcoming, and on top of everything. From making the booking process super smooth to making sure we had everything we needed for the day, she's the reason the whole experience felt so seamless. She checked in with us multiple times, gave us great local recommendations for after our paddle, and just made the whole day feel special. What really stood out to me was how much this team cares--not just about giving people a fun day on the water, but about the environment, the river, and the wildlife that call it home. They take time to educate guests about respecting the ecosystem, and you leave not only having had an amazing adventure, but also feeling like you've learned something important. I've been on plenty of tours and excursions, but very few have left me with such a lasting impression. These guys aren't just running a business--they're building memories for people, and they clearly love doing it. If you're anywhere near Crystal River, don't waste your time looking at other paddle board companies. This is the one. Between Aidan's energy, Mike's behind-the-scenes dedication, and Mandy's incredible hospitality, you won't find a better team anywhere. Do yourself a favor and book with them--you'll thank me later.
