I've done this trip twice on my travels to Florida, once in 2017 and again in 2025, those are the only two times I've fished in my adult life and it's a fantastic experience. The deck hands are great with inexperienced fisherman such as myself. Lines get tangled, can't get the fish off the hook, etc. you don't even have to say anything and he's on it helping you out. Super friendly staff, would 1000% do this again. I do recommend arriving 20 minutes early, bring a hand towel, sanitizer, a lunch (nothing big, you don't have much downtime so don't bring snacks, just a sandwich will do), water (they say you can bring beer, but honestly I wouldn't. You're in the sun for 8 hours straight and it's not a good combo), sunscreen, a hat and a great attitude. It's a great time! Highly recommend!! Bonus: You can take your fish to the Lazy Lizard restaurant just down the street and they'll cook your fish for you and give you 2 sides for $20. We caught a bunch of grunts fish, had them do it blackened and it was delicious! read more

Poor trip very few fish, I guess that's why it's fishing not catching! I have been out on the Thunder boat over 10 times all with great luck till a couple weeks ago! Capt Chaz was not on the boat so maybe that was the problem but we were under way more than we fished. Over 2 hours, first stop very few hits, tried moving south more 7times before we had to return ride of 2 1/2 hour return trip. Total amount of fish for the whole boat didn't total 100! First trip I didn't get at least 60 by myself! I don't like to file the poor reports but only fair because I do give give great reviews when merited. Felt so sorry for the first timers but hopefully they will try again. will try again in a month or so and update accordingly! read more

Four of us went out Saturday and had the time of our lives. I recommend bringing pliers to remove hooks because you're going to catch a lot of fish. This is the most serious fishing party boat that we've done. Emphasis is definitely on fishing! We will make a habit of going out on the Thunder for sure! read more

I have fished a number of party boats over the years and consider Thunder to be fairly unique. It fishes the shallower water of the gulf north of Tampa. Capt Chaz has fished this area all of his life and knows how to put you on the fish. The boat can only take out 30 people so you get more individual attention than on larger boats. Capt Chaz doesn't hesitate to move if the fish aren't biting at a spot. read more

We travel from Ocala, Fl to fish on the Thunder Party Boat. It is well worth the drive to Hernando Beach. Capt. Chaz and First mate Curtis are awesome. We always have a great time on the Thunder and we will definitely be going back again. read more
