Fantastic service (Patricia and Larry!) and great food at a great value! What I wouldn't give to have a place like this to go to eat near Boston. We went there twice in less than a week while visiting. It was about a 15 minute wait both times but well worth it and the people watching makes it go quickly . Get anything with carne adovado and green chilies and you can't go wrong! Oh, and that cinnamon roll... big enough for three or four to share to finish up that last half cup of coffee (we had it grilled with butter!). I stopped here for breakfast yesterday and it was great! I am traveling on business and really enjoyed the at-home feeling I got from my waitress, Bessy. Even though I was dining alone, she made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Their Gourmet coffee was SO good I purchased some to take home! The two egg plate was just the right amount of food for a long day ahead. The food was delivered quickly and it took no time to check out so I could hit the road to get to the office on time. Our visit started poorly. We were seated and ignored. We watched tables seated after us (4 of them) get drinks and have orders taken by either the waiter or hostess. When we raised a concern, immediately the manager Danielle and our server sprung into action. Danielle got us drinks and Justin came over and immediately apologized. They made up for our wait 100x's. I love Weck's and have tried 4 of their locations. Rio Rancho is the best. Excellent service! Friendly servers! So much food to choose from. The green and red chili sauces are wonderful (esp the green). I usually ordered a lunch burrito and can customize it without any problem. Also have ordered the the tostada and the BLT sandwich (the latter comes with a choice 2 sides). My husband always orders breakfast and is never disappointed. I give it one star because they have a parking lot. We went in at 11:00 am. There were a dozen empty tables, and we were seated right away. I used the restroom while my wife waited at the table, and no one had come to the table while I was gone. I'm so disappointed in this place. I asked around when I first got here so I could have a nice place for breakfast while we settled down and when we actually tried the cuisine it seemed to be uninsured and pedestrian. The menu looks good, if uninspired so it seems that the problem is in the execution. All the meals we tried tasted like cafeteria food, there was nothing special and the natural flavors of the food just did not sing out like they should. I tried talking to the staff just to make sure that the cooks were not having a bad day but they were too harried to stop and answer my questions. I asked about WiFi and they just scurried away. When we were finished with our meal they brought over a card with a handwritten password for the WiFi on it, which was too late because we were already headed out the door. I did want to like this place, superficially they appear to be likable but the proof is in the tasting so to speak, and we were just unimpressed. If you want to know what a breakfast should taste like then make the effort to go to Hobee's and try everything on the menu, you'll be surprised at how such a similar menu can taste so much better. read more

Left 3 stars because I was disappointed.. After waiting forever in line it seemed like there were not enough servers. The food was not that tasty, just huge portions of mediocre food. I ordered the pancakes and they were not soft and fluffy, hugely disappointed. If I were a body builder or truck driver wanting 3000 calorie meal it would have sufficed.. But I'd rather have quality than quantity. Village Inn probably has better pancakes. The server was super friendly and felt bad there didn't seem like enough were scheduled, especially for a saturday morning. 1 star for the wait and quality of the food. 5 star for the server hustling and making the most of her situation. Wecks is probably the best breakfast place in New Mexico. Usually when you go to wecks it pretty Busy but wait for a seat it's worth it! I am aware that Weck's is a local icon of a restaurant. It is well-adored by many in the ABQ area. On the weekends, it is difficult to even get a table! However, the experience I had a couple of weeks ago left me angry and disappointed. I had just taken my only son to the airport to return to Chicago for his next semester of college. I was beyond sad, so a group of my friends took me to breakfast to shower me with love and support. I know we spent too long at the table... but we were drinking coffee and enjoying the time together. It is difficult to get a group of moms together for a lengthy visit... life's demands often get in the way. As we sat, it became clear the management wanted us to leave. First there were the subtle hints. Then there was the offer of to-go coffee cups. Finally... the employee who came over and preached (yes preached) about the love of Jesus and how we are called to be selfless in order to receive God's love. Point taken and we left. I will not eat there again. I will choose places that are a bit more open to a group of friends who needed to cry together, laugh together and lend each other much needed support on a sad Sunday morning. read more

I've given this place 3 tries and every time has been more disappointing than the next. The last time I ordered Huevos Rancheros and boy was I disappointed. The tortillas were raw, so I used their 1 bite rule and sent it back & reordered the corn beef hash which was just ok. Our entire party had finished their meals before mine was ready so I got to watch them eat and then rush to eat my meal as everyone was finished. The manager did give me my coffee for free, how generous :( The only bright spot was our server Erica who was so gracious. I definitely don't think I will be back. This is only my second time eating at a Wecks. My husband and I live out of town in southern New Mexico. So we were excited to eat at Weck's as they rave about the food there and the huge portions. I have to say it was one of the worst meals I have had starting with the coffee. I hate to say it but its true. My husband got bisquits and gravy and portion wise there was only 2 bisquits 2 eggs and 2 pieces of sausage. When he had this at a different Weck's location the plate was so loaded he barely could eat it. I had chicken enchiladas with 2 eggs hash browns and beans. I have to say the worst chicken enchiladas ever..looked like dark meat and no seasoning no cheese just huge pieces of chicken and the taste wasn't good. Stuck between 2 corn shells with sauce on top..the hash browns got the cheese and sauce on top which made them soggy and tasteless. The beans had a flavor I have never experienced. I left there thinking I should have gotten a green chili cheese burger. read more
