The service here was the best part. The person working was helpful and got our waffles done fast. There's not many vegetarian options unless you want a sweet waffle. Overall, it was good. Waffle gravy was a little thick for me and could use some more seasoning, but it wasn't a bad experience. There's plenty of seats inside the sawmill so ambience was good as well. I would like to go back and try sweet waffle. read more

Waffle TOO SMALL!!! TOO EXPENSIVE!!! No excuse. The waffle was HARD on the bottom. Employees DONT change out gloves, touch food, then phone, etc. Too LONG of a wait for food with not many people. There's better places to eat at! read more

I can't say I'm thrilled with the waffles. And considering the whole theme of this place is waffles...maybe the waffles shouldn't be hard on the bottom? Or that it's a decent proportion to the price? I don't know. My favorite part was the strawberries. Can't recommend at this time. read more

Something for everyone: sweet, savory, custom made so your dreams can come true in waffle bliss. They had add ons, special sauces and friendly people behind the counter. Great trendy food court with a host of different selection of vendors. I decided on the When chicken met waffle with xo syrup. Plenty of seating in the area. There are shared tables, bar seating and separate tables. Everything is made to order so there was a slight wait. The wait was well worth it. Excellent flavor combo. The chicken had a tang to it and the waffle was sweet. Yum! There were 3 breast of chicken pieces cooked perfectly. Loved my meal. read more

I had the Koi No Yoken, with the egg done over medium and the white gravy. It was absolutely delicious. The waffle isn't made of normal waffle batter; it's like a croissant inside almost. Very flaky and savory. The gravy was good and it didn't come soaked in it so the balance was very well done. It was my first savory waffle and I get why they're a thing. It's a pricey waffle but it came with fresh avocado and it's a small business so I don't mind paying a bit more to support local. read more

I don't usually give a 1 star review, but sorry to say that this place truly and completely, utterly disappointed me today. When you have Waffle in the name of your store, you better deliver a fresh waffle. Clearly, the waffle is frozen, doughy and dry, inedible. The chicken is not fried chicken, but frozen chicken that is rubbery and chewy. The spicy maple syrup leaves much to be desired. At this price point, this was an utter disappointment. I've been to XO waffle a couple of times, and have had the Waffle of My Life and When Chicken Met Waffle. The first was ok, but I'm not sure I would order it again. When Chicken Met Waffle was quite good and I would recommend it! Located inside Sawmill Market so there's plenty of seating. It took maybe 15 min for the waffle to be ready both times I went which isn't an issue when you're hanging out at Sawmill! read more

This was one of the places that I was really looking forward to trying when Sawmill opened up, and I was so sad when they turned around and had to close before I could make it. #ThanksCOVID So, when they reopened for take out, I immediately ordered! And they DID NOT DISAPPOINT. This is waffle heaven. This is waffles done right. None of that too fluffy spongy soggy nonsense happening here. These waffles are perfection - dense but soft, delicate sugar peaking out of every bite. These waffles perfectly compliment their flavors. I mean, who needs a cinnamon roll when you can get a From Churro with Love waffle? No one. You need a waffle. The real winner of our order, though, was the Peaches in the Air. We fought over every bite while we enjoyed this delivery safely in our backyard. Highly recommend! Let's keep these guys going in uncertain times. These are waffles to be treasured. read more

I have visited this place many times inside of Sawmill Market. My family and I are always excited to enjoy one of their delectable waffle desserts. The staff is always so courteous and cheerful. We usually devour the Fresas Mi Amor, which is strawberries and whipped cream. Or the From Churro with Love, that has cinnamon sugar, caramel and chocolate chipotle cream. Yum, just talking about it right now makes me want to go out and get some! My family and I always get these flavors but I am pretty sure that if these dessert waffles are scrumptious then so are the other flavors. I definitely recommend this place, whether it's for dessert or for a meal you definitely will not be disappointed. read more

I went to Plata coffee for a iced latte and decided this morning that I was in the mood for waffles after glancing at the menu at XO waffle. The menu is exquisite! There are so many creative ways that this restaurant has created their menu and even if you're not in the mood for "waffles" per say, there are saltier options that don't even seem like typical waffles. I ordered the "Fresas, mi amor" and it was delicious. The waffle itself was cooked to perfection and the strawberries and cream were a sweet addition that was not TOO sweet. My only issue with this restaurant are the prices and the wait time. It is quite expensive for one waffle and I ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for the waffle. While I do understand that they have a lot of orders, it also was a little frustrating because I had not planned to spend such a long time waiting. Overall, it was very good. I likely will return if I have a craving for waffles!! read more

Can I say woah! So as a self proclaimed sweet tooth expert, I was beyond pumped to try this place! The location is prime, situated with some other must tries in Sawmill Market! The menu is extensive, but the choices make it hard to choose! My daughters and I were looking to have some dessert so the options were plentiful enough! We decided to share a "Fresas mi Amor" and a "I'm bananas for you"! People! These were the bomb I think what makes them both is the waffle. These are not your average waffle! The have a crispy outside, but with the chewy somewhere between a donut and a pancake. This allows the waffle to hold its form and not get soggy! The ice cream on the banana, the walnuts, Carmel and bananas dance a lambada in your mouth. The Fresas is like a smooth waltz on your palette! I recommend you try both, and then go from there! 4.5 stars The first time I came, we got the "From Churro with Love" (cinnamon sugar, whipped cream, topped with caramel and chocolate chipotle sauce) and the "Fresas Mi Amor" (strawberry slices, whipped cream, and pink XO syrup). Both were tasty and the perfect size (with all the other delectables we tried). The churro one was probably my favorite- the sweet and the little bit of spice complementing each other perfectly. The slight crunch of a done waffle and didn't take much time for it to be ready at all. What more can I say. I think the "I'm Bananas for You" would be next on the list. In October/November, they had a pumpkin spice waffle (my fave!)- "Pumpkin Spice with Everything Nice" with pumpkin whip, caramel, and candied walnuts. This one was a little smaller than the other ones with only a slight hint of pumpkin (like most pumpkin things are). The first waffle featured fried chicken and syrup and was disappointing. The waffle was just bland, the chicken was tough and chewy, and the syrup was super sticky. The more desert-based waffles are a bit tastier, but you're really just enjoying the toppings. Such as ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate, strawberries, etc. The wait time was more than double what was originally provided, resulting in an over 30 min wait time. We had a show to catch, so had we known, we'd have gone elsewhere. They also messed up one of the orders, adding an item we previously asked to hold. Considering how pricey this place is, and current reviews, I certainly expected more. read more

So overpriced for what u get. $2 for the tiniest drizzle of Nutella I've ever seen. $1 for a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. The waffle wasn't even that good and was definitely frozen. They robbed me and my bf of $12. Should be called XO Awful. Go to churro y corn instead much better price and quality for something sweet read more

Worst waffle of all time. I was expecting a light, airy, crunchy waffle...instead, I got a doughy, heavy waffle. Gross. The batter had gritty undissolved granulated sugar throughout. Not the mouthfeel you want in a waffle. Very off putting. Also-fill the iron so the waffle is whole. The egg was cooked fine, and there was a good amount of avocado and green onion. The red sauce, which is a bechamel with adobo, was tasty, just sparse. Good price point too at $10, IF it was good, which in this case was not. I want a real plate for something that has dripping gravy and egg...not a piece of paper on a baking sheet. I cut through the paper with my plastic utensils. Not going back. read more

If i could give this place less than 1 star i would. Another waffle location that charges 2x the amount for 1/2 the quality of food. The staff also retains poor attitude as if you're bugging a teenager to do a chore. The ambience is great tho. Only good thing about the location. Save your money read more

These waffles are soooo good. Depending on what you get you're probably going to average like 10$ per person which in my opinion is well worth it. They took a little while to come out but it's fine because you can roam around the building at look at everything. Loved it 10/10 would recommend. read more

This place was adorable! Love their little setup in the corner of Sawmill! The customer service was kind & welcoming. I tried their Peaches In The Air waffle & OMG if you have a sweet tooth like I do this will satisfy & then some!! My wife and I decided to have an early breakfast before hiking the Petroglyphs. Our first experience with XO was excellent, their white and red XO sauce is one of the best béchamel variants I've tasted in a while. No grainy taste and a subtle heat with the red option. Their approach to waffles is also very unique as it's dough based rather than batter giving a fresh take on an old favorite of chicken and waffles. Another visit is definitely required to savor more of their offerings. read more

I took my friend to Sawmill Market for her birthday and needless to say, it was not a happy time. Echoing previous reviews: this waffle is clearly not fresh. We are thinking we are waiting to get a fresh waffle but it was clearly frozen and reheated. The chicken looked like a fish plank for the Walmart frozen food section. I didn't even finish it. Super cute spot! We got 2 sweet waffles (banana and strawberry), and both were really good. We got it and ate on the patio on a weekday when it was pretty empty, so it was nice to enjoy some sense of normalcy in this strange time. So another venture in the sawmill to try all the delectable i have waited so long to try. Today XO waffles. I opted for a savoury choice for breakfast. The "waffle of my life" lovely crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside waffle with egg (mine over easy) with ham cheese and their XO sauce. XO sauce is like a bechamel with the option of white so a normal creamy sauce or red with chipotle. Had to get the red! Great combo of flavours cannot wait to try a sweet one next time. On a personal note the waffle is sweet even with savoury toppings which was not to my taste but will not deter me from returning for a sweet waffle read more

Tried this for the first time yesterday. It was kinda gross. Beautiful presentation though and the place was clean. I inquired before ordering about the ingredients. The counter person said their "xo sauce" had artificial dye in it, so I opted to forego that portion of the strawberries & cream waffle. But she also told me it was served with real whipped cream (it was totally artificial) and real maple syrup (nope, fake too). The waffle itself was massively over sweetened and also had an artificial ingredients taste. The strawberries were fresh but tasted like chemical preservatives. The whole thing was just a pile of artificially flavored "food." I wouldn't go back unless they started using real ingredients. read more

The service was friendly, and the staff made a positive first impression from the phone call all the way through our visit. For our family, the total came to about $80, which felt a little steep. We ended up eating inside since the patio tables were either occupied or unavailable (due to a sleeping homeless person). One of my favorite touches was the collection of retro waffle makers displayed along the walls, which added a fun, nostalgic charm to the atmosphere. I had to pick between savory and sweet, and the menu is huge with lots of options plus build your own! I went for savory and got it with goat cheese and spinach (built my own). It was delightful. The blue corn is just a tinge sweet so was an interesting mix. The waffle is a decent size but is super filling and dense. I'll have to try some sweet waffles or some different waffle bases next time! That said there are lots of gluten free options as well, so if that's for you, then don't hesitate to come check it out you won't be disappointed. There is indoor and outdoor seating, though in general the place is small-ish and can get crowded during busy times. Parking is also a bit of an adventure, but so is anywhere in that area. The staff is super friendly as well. All in all a great experience and I will be back. I can't believe it took me so long to get here in the first place!

We couldn't secure a table on our actual anniversary, but managed to get one a couple of nights later, and it was well worth the wait. From the outside, Antiquity is understated. Step inside, however, and you're immediately welcomed into a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in Old Town Albuquerque. Owner Steve, who has been running the restaurant for nearly three decades, greeted us personally. His passion for hospitality was evident from the moment we arrived. While we waited briefly for our table, he took time to learn about us, ask what types of food we enjoy, and offer thoughtful menu recommendations. The restaurant itself is charming and authentic, with an old-world steakhouse feel that perfectly complements the historic New Mexico setting. Many of the tables and booths are arranged to create private, intimate dining spaces, making it an ideal choice for special occasions. We were touched when Steve seated us at what he called the "anniversary table," complete with a small scattering of heart confetti, despite our celebration having technically passed. Service throughout the evening was exceptional. Rather than relying on a single server, the entire staff worked seamlessly together. Water glasses were never less than half full, empty plates disappeared almost instantly, and every member of the team seemed genuinely invested in ensuring guests had a memorable experience. Even the kitchen staff engaged warmly with diners, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. As for the food, it exceeded every expectation. We started with oysters on the half shell, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I upgraded to the special salad, a beautiful combination of greens, apples, strawberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, bacon, and a creamy mini brie, all brought together with a delicious pear vinaigrette. For our entrée, we chose the Châteaubriand for two. It was expertly prepared, carved tableside, and cooked perfectly. Every recommendation we received was spot-on, and the meal was so impressive that before leaving, I made another reservation for later that week just so I could return and try more of the menu before our trip ended. Antiquity offers beer and wine rather than a full bar, which was perfectly fine for us and fit the restaurant's classic, understated character. This is not an inexpensive dinner, nor should it be. What you're paying for is exceptional food, genuine hospitality, flawless service, and an atmosphere that is increasingly difficult to find.
