Another outlet of the great Weck's local chain: you're going to have pro-level efficient service and you're going to have a table-visit from a manager who makes sure everything is okay. The food is going to be solidly good with a notable willingness to customize sides to your preferences and you're going to get a decent portion for your money. As everywhere, prices have gone up - what are you gonna do? The rooms are large and clattery, with happy groups gathering to eat and servers bustling all over everywhere. The back room in this particular outlet is kinda on the crowded side, but there's often a wait at peak times (Weck's is well regarded by locals), so you're just happy to get seated. There is a small menu for those on low-carb/keto and other diets, but it's super-easy to customize one of the regular dishes (a 4-egg omelet, for instance, can easily sub tomatoes or beans for the usual hash browns and the usual toast can become a low carb or corn tortilla). The service is always very efficient and nice and the food is good and plentiful. Today, however, we were sat for the first time in the back little dining room. It was way too tightly packed with tables. We were sitting back to back with people, and it was hard to negotiate around the chairs, and I could tell it was hard for the wait staff as well. A friend of mine, who was local to the area, suggested Weck's restaurant for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Election Day 2024 of all times. But I was here and hungry. It was a good suggestion for sure. Weck's restaurant is a nice sit down restaurant for individuals, families, and friends to get together for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I met my friend at the restaurant at about 9am and we entered together, along with her 2 kids. The ambiance was loud since apparently this place was quite popular on a Tuesday and it was a national holiday to most people. Virtually all the tables were taken except one. So we had to wait a little bit before the staff could clean it and we could sit down. We probably spent about an hour here having breakfast at 9 AM in the morning on holiday. It was loud, but it was good. My friend and her 2 kids and I sat in the middle of the room but next to the wall next to the parking lot side. Once we got settled, we got our menus and proceeded to decide on what to order. We had to get that additional time because there was too much choices to be had here. We decided on our items that we wanted and we told the server. The total time probably was about 20 minutes to wait for our orders to come. We spent a total of an hour or so dining and enjoying each other's company wow my friend was parenting in between talking to me. I guess that's how parents are with small kids. And so, it was just delightful breakfast spot in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was glad that my friend suggested it otherwise I would have said McDonald's or something. Lol. The overall experience here at this Weck's restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico was definitely an interesting one, especially when you're dining with two young kids and their mother. I felt like a third wheel, but it wasn't. The restaurant itself was clean, even though it felt like a madhouse. The servers were hard at work, trying to give everybody their orders and at a timely fashion too. This place feels like an IHOP or a Denny's with a better decor and ambience, but just more popular. The prices is here are standard I guess. The total tab for this experience came out to be around $66 for four people and that's without gratuity. Which isn't bad actually. The menu itself was self-explanatory, although they had lunch items on the menu as well. So you can come here and enjoy whatever you want at any time of day, which is pretty awesome too. For the most part, though, it was an interesting time spent with my friend and her two kids, especially with food being served. If you like breakfast food, and in the area of Albuquerque, New Mexico, consider coming to this restaurant because breakfast is always an important meal of the day and I totally recommend coming here. Just be aware that it can get busy on a holiday or a weekend, so plan accordingly and you'll be OK and get a premium table before the lunch for breakfast or dinner crowd comes knocking on the door. If you're like me, Uber and Lyft will always be helpful when you're on vacation and don't like to drive, either a rental car or your own. That's how I got here to Uber. I left here with my friend and her two kids since she wanted to give me a lift to the Albuquerque museum While she still had to go vote in the presidential election that morning. Not sure if the public transportation system of Albuquerque, New Mexico has routes to stop near or at here, so as bad is to check out online if they actually do have a service to take you here to get your purpose, lunch, or dinner here at Weck's. And so, I definitely recommend coming here, because it is like Denny's or IHOP, but different but yet familiar at the same time. Sure they serve the usual favors, from pancakes to sausage links, to omelette, but they do it with love and compassion. The atmosphere was positive and chatty with patrons seemingly happy. My son ordered the waffle combination and he loved the waffle and bacon. I ordered a bowl of papas with red and an egg on top. Well, we love breakfast and we have been coming to Weck's on Juan Tabo for a while. Just today I realized I have not left a review, so here it goes. The place holds a lot of people and it still gets packed and busy from opening to closing. Good natural light. Modern quirky decor. Always clean. Service is always excellent and blazing fast. And the food is to die for! If you're new to this place, be mindful of the portions. They are big! Which is convenient when you're very hungry or get half of it yo go. My favorite dish is the New Mexican Benedict with red and green chile. This is a very filling dish with perfectly poached eggs, juicy carnitas, great sauces, and crispy hash browns. I ordered a make a burger today and when they brought it out by my fault I forgot to ask for mayonnaise. I waited for the return of the waitress for about 15 minutes finally I asked a girl that was cleaning tables if she could bring me some mayonnaise. Meanwhile I'm eating my crinkle french fries which were cold and hard which is an issue I needed to ask the waitress about again the slow return of the waitress. By the time the waitress came back she took an order for fresh french fries and brought my mayonnaise. By then my hamburger was cold. My fault. I waited another 10 minutes for French fries. When they arrived they had a strange aftertaste as if they've been fried in old oil. I did eat a few just to try them. Financially I don't treat myself out to restaurants very often but I was feeling as if I deserved something special today. I was sorely disappointed not only in the food but the service. Just to let you know it was not very busy in there when I went at 1:00 p.m. the last time I ordered this hamburger it was really delicious the service was great and the waitress at that time asked me if I needed any extra ketchup or mustard when I ordered. I'm hoping maybe they'll see this message. There is a reason you shouldn't talk on a phone in a restaurant. It's loud and disrespectful of others close by. Wecks is a staple in town everyone knows that. However, I went to the Juan Tabo location in Saturday for breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised with their new fit menu. They have some new low carb options for people carb counting or on KETO. I had the high desert egg white omelet with some fruit and it was very satisfying. I'm sharing this because I know some of the low carb folks would enjoy this and may be staying away from Wecks while dieting because this place is good but hard to keep carbs low. Of course this place was super busy and it's a pain to find parking and get seated all the usual. So no change to experience here, don't come here if you're in a rush or want to use your phone. They have since kind of signal blocker so you don't get a good cell signal in the building, you'll notice it at some of this other locations as well that you phone stops working when you walk in. This place has a good system. The most moist carnitas too. I love the cleanliness here. And the decor of the fully belly is not only a fun design for the entrance but a true statement of how you leave. I had to get half my food to go. Lunch started with the pair of us each getting a cup of their soup of the day, which was an excellently flavored Florentine tomato soup. The inclusion of pasta shells gave it a bit more body than your standard "out of the can" tomato soup. For an entree my lunch partner & I split a beef lunch size quesadilla that was accompanied by chopped lettuce & tomato, a dab of sour cream, and a little bowl of salsa. Quesadilla had beaucoup ground beef in it, making it substantial enough to be a decent amount of food for each of us. The melted cheese layer was pretty thin. Just enough to make it's presence known. Drinks were a glass of water with lemon & a diet soda. I also ordered a brownie, since they had them available, as a treat for later. It was shockingly large!! It measures 6"x4" big and is quite dense. The size makes it look like a small cake unto itself, which it is. At a couple bucks for the mondo brownie, it's a deal of the century contender. Interior of the restaurant was bright from lots of windows & looked clean to me. The plethora of senior citizens dining there during the early half of lunch time serves as a bit of a litmus indicator of the value offered by the Weck's breakfast & lunch gang. Well this place has went downhill. I have been eating at wrecks for decades now and have watched their service, quality, and value dip little by little in the past few years. When we called to order curbside pickup the woman taking the order would not accept asking for things off the menu. She had to rearrange and dissect every order to the point of repeating it four times for each item. When we got everything home the food was cold as a stone. We live a half mile away and we're there on time. I was given a small styrofoam container 4"x4" as an order of papas with everything red. There was not even a tablespoon of red chili in a small container with a dried out egg and specks of meat over mostly papas. The chili could barely stain the potatoes. This is not even close to the papas that I remember and did love from days long gone. My wife's breakfast chicken enchiladas and waffle came in containers that were not spilling everywhere by the time they get home because the order does not fit in the cheapest container they could fit it in. All the food was cold. The quality has slowly crept downhill and now I notice how far down it has went. There are plenty of places to get a bowl of papas from for $10 that give a bowl of potatoes with more than a token amount of toppings. Vicks blows wrecks away just need to drive over there from now on. read more

This is our every Sunday morning regular stop. Love the friendly staff (especially our favorite waiter Sean) and the managers always ensure customers are satisfied. I'm also impressed to see managers cleaning tables and moving business right along. The food is consistently large in portions and is always delicious. Second time I've been to Wecks and in both cases I haven't been impressed. This time it mainly had to do with the wait. We sat down and our server, Shawn, came right away to take our drink order. This came out right away and then we ordered. I ordered the original papa plate with 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, and Christmas (red & green) for sauce. My in laws ordered their plates as well. It took 20mins, possibly more to get our food. Apparently the cooks didn't work on the order when they received it. Our server was kind enough to bring us some chips and salsa so that help. However, I do wish we had received our food on time and one of the orders didn't come out with the correct type of sauces. Mainly it was the little things that made this experience less than great. During the Thanksgiving week, my family and I ate at the Wecks located on Juan Tabo in Albuquerque. As a visitor to Albuquerque, this was one of the better meals I had in the week I was in town. They told us it would be a 20 minute wait for a table and the wait ended up being closer to 40 minutes. Once we were seated, Chazz was our server and she was amazing. Very well versed in the menu options and it was clear she was experienced at her job. She was super pleasant, attentive, voluntarily accomodating without making us feel like we were inconveniencing her in any way, and she had great energy. The service was excellent and the food was good. My only concern was that the bathrooms could've been cleaner. You can tell a lot about what goes on in the kitchen of a restaurant by how clean the bathrooms are. Overall, it was a good experience. I would eat here again if I come back to town. read more

It's very popular, and as soon as we walked up we noticed that there were people waiting, but I doubt we even waited ten minutes before we were seated. This particular location is large with lots of tables, so I doubt anyone has to wait long. Our server was very sweet, and despite how busy it was, checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. My friend couldn't finish her strawberry lemonade and they asked if we wanted a to-go cup, which you don't encounter in very many restaurants. I had the breakfast enchiladas, which consist of two chicken enchiladas smothered with red chile and scrambled eggs, with sides of pinto beans and hash browns. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this meal was absolute perfection. The enchiladas were bursting with chicken and the hash browns were exactly the right level of crispy. Their red chile is fantastic. It definitely has some heat but isn't so spicy that it numbs your mouth. During the meal, I actually commented to my friends that their red chile is so good I could drink it, which may be only a slight exaggeration! My meal was very filling and kept me full until well past dinnertime, which was great because we had a full day of Albuquerque adventures planned. The prices here are also extremely reasonable especially when taking into account the great service as well as the quality and portion size of the meals.
