f I can give Webster LockSmith a "0" star I would. Let me first start by saying that I was a long time customer of Webster LockSmith during the 80's throughout the 90's and early 2000, during the time when I resided in the Bronx. I would purchase all of my cylinders and locks from them. And I would always recommend them to my family and friends and business associates. I always regarded them to highest standards because they were always very helpful and friendly and that feeling and image stood with me throughout the years. I always remembered the good environment and friendly customer service that I always received and I think that is why they were able to grow and expand to the building next door. I have not been there in awhile and this Saturday 9/29/18 I got stuck with my Mercedes Benz truck due to the remote key battery dying and I could not open my truck. My first thought was to go to Webster LockSmith and so I took a cab there. I know that they have always been very helpful in the past, but to my shock the rudeness, lack of help and lack of customer service I experienced this passed Saturday stunned me. One of the owners did not recognize me as a customer, but I did recognize him, as I remember him and his father Mr. Mike from back in the days. When I was on line he, the owner asked me if he could assist me, so I explained to him that I got stuck with my truck and could not open the doors due to the dead batteries in the remote control keys. I was stunned with his answer when he told me arrogantly "wait on line for the guy with the Yankee Hat," I found him to be so unprofessional and inappropriate and I do not remember him being like this in the past. I tried to express my concern because I needed to get this done as quickly as possible since I already had appointments scheduled with my customers. I saw that "the guy with the Yankee Hat was with a customer" so desperately I reached out to another worker and I explained that this was a matter of urgency and my truck is double parked on Fordham Rd and I needed batteries for the remote control of the truck, he told me that he could not help me, so I waited for the man with the "Yankee Hat" finally once he approached me he told me that he could not help me because he could not be responsible for any damages to the key. He told me that if I could open it than I could select from any batteries on the wall. I am a reasonable man and I understood and so I asked him please tell me how to open it because my truck is stuck in the street and I will take full responsibility and to my surprise he told "no" that he could not, meaning that he could not even tell me how to do it, open the remote even though I would be doing it myself. He than walked away from me to the back. This is how Webster LockSmith treats a customer !!! Customers that made them who they are today. Maybe the owner he is a "fat cat" so now he does not care. I was stunned because this is not the Webster LockSmith that I knew. I am a business owner and work throughout the City and I will make sure to spread out the word to my customers which are building owners and private home owners to not do business with Webster Lock Smith. I am appalled and disappointed. I would like to also mention how the owner was more concerned about the delivery of his lunch that he received, he walked away from me, instead of trying to help a customer in a time of need. I had to have my wife come from Westchester County to bring me the secondary copy of the remote. What made me write this review was when I arrived home I went to You Tube and typed how do I open the remote key to the Sprinter Mercedes truck and what I learned was that all I had to do was lift the access door with my finger tip and the batteries were there. This got me so furious because something so simple, they could not tell me how to do it, they also told me that the remote could get damaged and I found out that it has nothing to do with the remote control because the batteries are a separate compartment from the remote control itself. In my time of need they could not assist me with something so simple. I was compelled to write this review because I find it to be personal, as I previously mentioned I had always regarded Webster LockSmith to high standards in the past. I had been a customer and I have seen them grow throughout the years and giving others reference to go to Webster throughout the years. I will never set foot in that business again. read more
