Had some front end damage to my bumper and headlights from an accident. They worked with me to economize the repairs so it was very affordable, and they were very prompt with their service-- I dropped it off on Monday and had it back by Thursday. I rear-ended a GMC Yukon while lost in Newton/Watertown (see my one-star review of the Sunoco which was mean to me and got me even more lost) and damaged the headlight, grill, front panel and tons of other stuff in my poor Hoobaru. Upon recommendation of two other teachers who'd gotten hit by a dumpster and a plow over winter break, I took my car to Webster Auto Body. Everyone I interacted with was super nice and efficient. They were quick about setting up an appointment and very easy to work with regarding the insurance stuff. They even offered me a ride home after the Hoobaru dropoff. Over a month later ($6100 worth of repairs necessitated this lengthy repair time), Hoobaru looks better than the day I got her! The niceness also continued...they put on my new 2009 Cambridge sticker and removed the old ones for me. I am still so impressed by Hoobaru's shininess that I'll definitely take her back there for car washes! Update (3/7/2009): Hoobaru's check engine light went on last night and she started shaking uncontrollably at random times so I brought her back in. Score! Like a fool I was backing out of my garage and broke one of my mirrors one morning on my way to work. I asked a friend and she (and Yelpers) recommended me to Webster's and I called up and spoke to Jerry the owner. He gave me a price for the new mirror and a few days later it was ready to go. Another glowing review, another kudos to Yelp (and Yelpers) for the amazing rec. My wife got into what should have been an inconsequential, extremely low speed collision where she rear ended another car at a stop sign. The problem: we drive an '05 C230 Kompressor which is designed to fall apart on contact. She hit a Murano and the Murano's bumper hit our hood in the perfect spot to basically wipe out the entire front end - bumper, fender, headlight, supercharger, radiator, bells, whistles, everything. The Murano didn't have so much as a scratch on it... We had the car towed to Webster and Billy and his team did a superb job. They worked directly with our insurance (MetLife) the entire time, which required the original appraisal and two adjustments based on additional work that was needed. MetLife even claimed to have sent one of the checks for the additional work directly to me which never happened, and they worked with MetLife to get the payment directly. Over $10k in work and it only cost me the $300 deductible....glad I have good insurance! It took 31 days to get all the parts and appraisals and actually fix the car, but I got back a brand new looking car with an entirely rebuilt front end. I even had my rental car for an additional day over the 30 covered by my insurance, and Billy not only offered to take the rental back to Enterprise but also work with them to make sure I wasn't charged the additional day. And I wasn't. I had one minor problem after a few hours from when I got the car back where it started puttering and the Check Engine light came on, so I called Billy and he told me to bring it back to him even though it was after hours. Of course, by the time I got it to him (after parking the car for about a half hour and restarting) it was in fine working order, so he thought I was crazy. Haven't had a problem since and I've had the car back for about 3 weeks. Really the only thing that could have been a little better was on the communication side. When I first towed it to him, Billy had said it would probably take 3 weeks to fix. I didn't hear back from him at all, so I called after 3 weeks and found out about all the additional work and appraisals and such. Since they kept having to wait for parts, they couldn't give me any indication of when I might get my car back, and they never really bothered to communicate any of the updates with me along the way - it was always up to me to call back every few days to get updates. But other than that, I have no problem giving Webster Autobody my full endorsement for any and all of your autobody needs. read more

Webster Auto Body has done nothing but first rate high quality work on my car. Ive visited them three times now (only one was my fault) and my car looks great thanks to them. Furthermore, in a world where good customer service is becoming a rare find as opposed a reasonable expectation, this place is an oasis of good honest people who really value their customers and want to get them the most bang for their buck. They considered my finances and discussed options before starting work, and I always felt that they were very fair. The story of how I wound up here...The cop said that the guy who decided to side swipe a whole bunch of cars down our residential one-way was probably "a little too old to be behind the wheel". Apparently he plowed through a bunch of cars and kept driving until the car was no longer drive-able, grabbed his groceries, and went into his house leaving the car in the middle of the intersection. All the neighbors said, "Uhh, yeah, it was that guy!" Anyway, I drove my car to Webster and they were cheerful and inspected the damage and compared it to the assessment from the insurance company. They found more damage that the insurance company didn't find and made sure that they would work with the insurance company. We set a time, I dropped off my car, and they got me a cab to the train station. Exactly a week later, my car was ready and it was sooo shiny. All the work looked great and they even buffed out some of the scratches that weren't part of the accident. I drove the car for an hour or two and then found that the trunk wasn't closing properly; the latch wouldn't catch. It probably had nothing to do with the work and more with the 0'F weather we were having, but I called back anyway just in case. I came back with the car and he sprayed it with a little WD40, tested the latch a couple of times and we were good to go. Great work, friendly and efficient service...This will be my auto body shop from now on! read more

My mom borrowed my car to run an errand and got hit by a truck whose driver did not yield. She was fine, but the side of my car was not. It was dented and smashed from the side of the front bummer to the passenger door. The passenger door made a popping sound so loud, that it made people jump every time the door opened. Because my mom lives out of state and it was my car, I had to deal with repairs. I wanted to find a place that would make the process as painless as possible. I decided to have my car repaired at Webster Auto Body because it was close to me and had solid ratings. The people at the shop were very accommodating, I dropped it off before I left for vacation and a few days after I got back my car was ready. I was very impressed with how good my car looked. The detailing that they did on the inside of my car was pretty awesome, it was so clean it made me smile. I also found Webster Auto Body through Yelp. I had taken the turn into the driveway a little close and my car needed serious help. My relationship with my car might verge on the unhealthy, it is almost my baby, and I wanted the best repair around. Fellow Yelpers did not steer me wrong. The experience was similar to others - Jerry worked with the insurance company and the whole process was easy for me. His team did very high quality work. I think they can't stand to see anything second rate because they also fixed up another dent from a prior incident. When I got my car back it looked better than before the accident and had been cleaned inside and out. As others have said, the down side is that Jerry can be optimistic about the time needed and not great about communicating. I did have to call a number of times to check in and get updates on when it would be done. In the end the quality of the work done is worth the inconvenience. read more

Usually I hate Yelp and Yelpers because a lot of reviews are irrelevant, whiny, or reflect outlier cases that are not truly representative of a service or product. However, I felt compelled to give some serious props to Jerry at Webster Autobody. My car got crushed by some jerk running a stop sign, and my driver's side door was totaled. I decided to take it to Jerry. The whole process took close to a month, but during that time, Webster Auto took care of all the insurance paperwork on both sides, regarding supplemental damages, rental coverage, etc. (I use Liberty Mutual and the guy who hit me was from MET Life). It was all so easy. The best thing is, I could call Jerry and get an update anytime I wanted, and he was always friendly and informative. When I finally got my car post-repair, I was amazed. Not only was the repair flawless (looking better than before), they actually cleaned up all the junk in my trunk (and everywhere else) and stored it in a box for me. I also think they vacuumed everything. The interior was so clean. Hopefully I never get into a collision again, but if I do, I will without a doubt return to Webster Autobody. While the repairs took a bit longer than expected, the car looks great and they even did some (shoddy but free) repairs on my banged up bumper that was unrelated to what I took my car in for. I came out of the grocery store the other day, and there was a deep scratch on my months old car. You always dread that first ding, and I was pretty bummed. I looked on Yelp and found these guys, so many great reviews!!! I was able to drive over, and he took my car on the spot. He said the less expensive option would be to try to buff it out, and if it didn't work and more expensive work was required, he'd credit the amount on the buffing attempt. I was a bit hesitant with such good reviews, but this place really is awesome. They answered my email quickly and I was able to bring my car over within 3 days at a time convenient for me. When I dropped off my car, they had a local company pick me up to get my rental car. Seamless transition! Four days later (much earlier then I expected) I got a call that my ride was all set! They stayed open past 5 for me to be able to pick up my car after work. They even vacuumed the interior and the outside was detailed like new! I've taken my car to Jerry's twice now. The first time was because the shop is right around the corner from my house, so it was the perfect distance for my lazy, lazy self. The second time, I asked Metlife if I could go back to them because they did such a great job the first time. I thought that I had a good handle on the damage that was caused by my accident, but Jerry noticed a scratch that my untrained eye didn't see. Both times, when I got the car back, it looked amazing! My boyfriend even walked down to the shop to tell them how amazing it looked. Like a new car! And when I say that before I brought it to them, the inside of my car looked like the aftermath of that bedroom scene in Nightmare on Elm Street after Freddy throws Johnny Depp around the room a few times, I'm understating the complete disaster that was the inside of my car. Absolutely amazing experience with Webster for interior detailing. I have beige leather seats and a dog who basically gets run of the car. Needless to say, my car was DIRTY. Winter really did a lot of damage to our brand new car. Dings, scratches, a crushed hood from a giant ice shelf. Webster did excellent work. We had a lot of paint matching that needed to be done (a red color, which is hard to do), and it looks perfect. The staff were friendly and professional, and they event detailed our car for us. It looked gorgeous! I got quotes from a few places in town, and Webster took the most time to give me the quote, and I think in the end the work actually costed LESS than we were expecting, which is always nice. Brought my car here after I rear ended someone and completely demolished my front end and parts of my engine. Not only that, but I had another accident (hit & run) that I was about to have fixed (insurance quoted me $1400) but decided to pay for it out of pocket while Webster fixed my front end. NOT ONLY THAT, but I also needed four new tires. Webster did the out of pocket job for $600 and some change, as opposed to the $1400, and gave me a superb deal on some real nice tires. Although it took a month to complete, and my rental charge was out of pocket (I just signed up to have rental on my insurance policy after that hefty bill!), I will absolutely go back to Webster if I ever need body work again. Deep down, every yelp user hopes to find a review that will guide him or her to a hole-in-the-wall shop, which one would have otherwise overlooked, but that provides superior service. That was my case when I looked for an auto body shop. The raving reviews for Webster Auto were so good, I was almost a bit suspicious. Regrettably, the reality was, that I did not have a 5 star experience myself. 1) Their hours of operation are differently posted on their answering machine than what is given on their website. I showed up (after making an appointment) at 7:30 am on a Monday morning to find the place locked down. It wasn't until 7:45 that one of the mechanics (who didn't speak English) slowly started to open up. He gave me a post-it and a pen to leave my name and number together with my car keys and hinted that I would be called when the rest of the crew arrived. That didn't happen. 2) After I called twice that same day and finally got a hold of Jerry, I gave him the date and number of the written quote he himself had given me the previous week. 3) When I picked up my car four days later, they had only done half of the work I had asked and been quoted for. Furthermore, there was some sort of paint/grease on several spots that they had to polish off after I pointed it out. The work they did do wasn't bad, but they seemingly have little supervision and quality assurance at their shop. I was told that "this had been the first time in 35 years they had made a mistake" (!!!). If that was really the case, they could have offered something better than simply having me bring the car back the following week for yet another 3 days at the full price of the missing work. read more
