Slow Braised Short Rib of Beef

I could've sworn I reviewed Webb already, but if not, here we go. Webb is an undeniable jewel in Gastonia, and I find myself there at least once or twice a month. This restaurant has genuinely shifted the dining landscape here. Before Webb, I had to drive to Charlotte for a solid meal. Now, Charlotte drives to Gastonia for Webb. Let's talk food. I am a die‑hard fan of the short rib, it's my go‑to cheat meal, always paired with a glass of Nobilo. Other dishes worth mentioning: the pork chops, the steak, the crab cake, any of the brunch selections, and the burgers. Honestly, I could keep going. Webb is consistent in excellent service, elevated dining, and it's exactly what Gastonia needed. Say what you want but Webb was the first step to the downtown revitalization process, they set the tone for all of the amazing growth Gastonia is experiencing today. Go to Webb, you will not be disappointed.

I absolutely enjoyed our Sunday Brunch here!!!! First let me say it's an old movie they turned into a restaurant. Just love it. If you get asked if you want to sit downstairs or upstairs I would totally say upstairs. The ambiance and views up there is so nice. Certain seats you can see right down into the kitchen and other seats give a great view to a movie screen which movies are playing. Love it! The service was great. Very attentive and super friendly. Started the meal with some drinks of course, so cute the drinks named after famous movies. Got the cheesy bread, this is a must please don't go and NOT order this. I could have just ate a plate of these and been satisfied. The bread was so good and packed with oozed out cheese! I went with two what they call first plates for my meal..the meatballs with polenta and fried green tomatoes! The meatballs were good, I enjoyed the polenta, was creamy and had good flavor. The fried green tomatoes, BOMB. They were seasoned and fried perfectly. Then came with charred corn which was soooo good and topped with smoked pork belly! Soon and the plate sat in front of me you could smell the smoke, killer dish! Rest of the table had, a burger, the big short, a omelette stuffed with short ribs and topped with kimchi, and charbroiled chicken with brown rice, pesto and blistered tomatoes. Everything was very good. On top of the fried green tomatoe dish, I also loved the short rib omelette. The short ribs were so good! Sweet, smokey with Asian seasoning. Stuffed in an egg, yea can't go wrong! The restaurant is in Gastonia a little drive from Charlotte, but I would make that drive again and again, spot is that good.

What went well? EVERYTHING This is truly a unique dining experience. I hope to be able to come back again in the near future. The service was as you would hope for what you'll spend on the experience, which was terrific. The wait staff took the time to give us the history of the building, as well as any detail we required about the menu. The ribeye was the BEST steak I've ever had in a restaurant-- hands down. Thanks, Dalton, for a delightful evening.

Always a must when I am in town, the food and drinks are amazing and nothing you can get anywhere else. Ambiance is wonderful and even the bat is fun!

With almost 2,000 reviews already I'll, I'll try to focus on what others haven't said. So yes, amazing experience. Haley (sp) was our hostess and provided a warm welcome. I told her it was our first time so give us a seat based on what she thought most fitting. Did not disappoint thanks Haley! We were seated on the second floor overlooking the first. There are three levels on the second floor. The level on the bottom has cozy round booths they feel secluded, very nice if you're going for romantic evening. Our server Kayla knew the menu well, didn't steer us wrong. We had the meatloaf and salmon after selecting cheesy bread and duck cigars for appetizers. Cigars were good but I would definitely try something different next time. Cheesy bread insanely delicious. My strawberry lemon drop: delicious. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the men's bathroom trash was overflowing at the end of the night. We'll definitely be back for my son's college graduation. I'll update my review then.

As usual a wonderful dining experience. This restaurant is worth being a destination spot. It is widely known for special occasions but it is fabulous if you want to just have a great meal I love the upstairs seating. It's quiet and not crowded Prices are reasonable. Service is top notch. Attention to detail and delivery but not intrusive Fried green tomatoes, cheesy bread are a good start. Then wedge salad is the best I've had Onion soup is amazing I had the lobster and shrimp pasta. Plenty of seafood and sauce over perfectly cooked pasta. Service is excellent fast and caring. My food is always perfect ( like Hell's Kitchen) Valet parking is a plus A must try

Webb Custom Kitchen - Gastonia 10:45am Mothers Day My son asked me where I wanted to go for Mother's Day. I had been to Webb a few times. I thought he would enjoy the theme, environment/vibe so that was my suggestion! Of course they didn't let us down lol! He was looking up the movie that was playing on the screen with Barbara Stanwick and a young Kirk Douglas. We loved the music they had playing as well so many memories wow what a throwback! We were seated upstairs and had a wonderful view of the screen, not to mention the activities in the kitchen down below. Really it's the best seat if you call for reservations! We ordered off of the brunch menu for main dishes, I told him he absolutely had to try a couple of the appetizers! We had fried green tomatoes, and the angry lobster to start. Both were absolutely wonderful and exactly what I expected so definitely consistent. We ordered two Benedict dishes. I got the crabcake Benedict and he got the eggs with ham. Everything was very good, but when it comes to crabcakes, I can't lie. Nothing compares to 131 main so the size of the Crabcakes - I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong. They were fresh, but too thin and the flavor and texture were not to my personal preference. The crab kind of got lost in all the other ingredients. I would definitely try a different dish next time. I ordered a side of bacon, perfectly cooked and great flavor. Along with the side of their mac & cheese, which has always been a favorite. I love the combination of cheeses that they use. It's such a treat! Lastly, we had to have their Parmesan truffle fries. Again consistent, excellent! They are always busy so reservations are required versus recommended to be honest. But we parked for free across the street because we were there early. Sadly, neither one of us had room for dessert, but their desserts are so good and the helpings are huge. Maybe next time!

What an incredible experience! I can see why this place comes highly recommended now. From the moment you arrive at valet until the time you depart, Webb really makes an impression. Every staff member we interacted with was wonderful and the atmosphere in the balcony along with the food itself just cannot be beat. This will definitely be our go to for special occasions! Also, huge shoutout to Olivia for offering such incredible hospitality! She really paints a picture when describing the dishes and went above and beyond to make our anniversary feel like a truly special occasion. I honestly could not be more impressed with our dinner here.

Very cool vibe that gives off a fancy, old-time theater feel. Definitely coming back. Porterhouse Club (5/5): The strip side of this 40oz porterhouse steak was phenomenal. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The crust was also perfect. The filet side was a little overcooked and not nearly as good as the strip side but overall, I loved this. Not much of a "challenge", but still fun to get my name on the wall and come home with a steak knife. I wish the knife was engraved or something though (it was just a regular steak knife you could buy from the store haha). NY Style Cheescake (5/5): Rich, thick, and creamy. This was a sizeable portion of very good cheesecake. Potato Cakes (4/5): Pretty good potato cakes with a lot of bacon and cheese flavor packed in. Could've been a little crispier. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Another great experience at Web's last night. We had our family there and it was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their steaks or tenderloin and all was cooked toe ordered and was exceptional. The meals were perfectly prepared and the service was phenomenal. As always we enjoy a great meal at Webbs. Our server gave a history lesson about Webb's for those who didn't know about the history. The restaurant was very clean as you would expect a fine dining experience to be. Great job Webbs Custom Kitchen...

The upscale steakhouse restaurant was converted from old movie theater with movie clips still being playing behind the kitchen. The dining atmosphere was excellent for patrons. I chose Spiced Ahi Tuna (cooked rare) as my dinner and house Cab (Copper Ridge). The whole dining experience was so great at a very reasonable price. It is great place to dine at Gastonia.

Is Webb Custom Kitchen open on Monday?

    Yes, from 4-9:30.

My wife and I just got back from Napa and have a bottle of wine that happens not to be on the menu. Can we bring it and simply pay a corkage fee?

    You most certainly can.

They used to have a sign that said "No WiFi, talk to each other," But didn't see it this time around. Anyways, Linebergers is a great spot to eat at if you are looking for some good food in the Lake Norman-Mooresville area. This is a fairly casual steakhouse, so if you don't dress up you won't be the odd ball in the room, but you certainly have a choice. Every server is fantastic. They are friendly, they treat you like family, and are quick. To my knowledge, almost every entree comes with a trip to the salad bar. They have the BEST salad bar. DO NOT SKIP ON THE SALAD BAR! They also give you warm rolls with "Texas Roadhouse style" honey butter to start. I highly recommend the prime rib as an entree. Don't get me wrong, it's not the absolute best prime rib I have ever had, but it is up there. It has great flavor, is seasoned well, and is tender. Their creamy horseradish is just ok, but that does not ruin the quality of the meat. The last couple of times they put chopped onions in my mac-and-cheese, which was weird and didn't taste good at all, but luckily this time there were no chopped onions. Both my older and younger cousins got the mac-and-cheese also, and one said that the cheese was too bland, while the other said that the cheese was too strong (sharp). Me personally I think that it is on the more bland side, so Linebergers can take that advice and apply it into their recipe, but nonetheless it is still good. They have the best dessert called the "Lake Norman Mudd Pie," which is essentially a layer of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, and Oreo pieces. It is a good treat to have every once in a while, but is rich!! But, if you want a sweet treat, I would recommend opting for that. As a summary, the hospitality at Linebergers is unbeatable and has some pretty solid food (don't forget about the incredible salad bar). Once again, if you are in the area, do not miss out.
