Service was great! Walking up you go over an abandoned pond. It's murky and just appears to collect rain water. Would be cool to see that restored with some coy fish. Okay so inside was nice. I liked the Mediterranean decor. Food was just okay. I did like the Greek salad though it did not look like the photo. The complimentary bread with olive oil was good. The saganaki was not what we are used to and was not melty. It was very dense. I had the Suttons favorite which is filet over eggplant with Turkish cheese. It was a miss for me. It was sliced pot roast and the eggplant tasted like whatever sauce it was mixed with. My partner has beef and lamb kabob and he said it was not seasoned much. His came with fries and taziki. I tried the taziki and it was not for me. Overall fantastic service, great atmosphere and hit or miss on the food. read more

The Turkish bread is freshly baked and it tastes so good (with dipping sauce)so one is not enough. The hot appetizer is great. Never tried the wrapped graph leave hot. And it tasted even better. The kebab plate is popular among the patrons. I had the mixed beef & lamb and my fried had the chicken, they both were great. Love the grilled jalapeño that comes with kebab dish, it has a really good kick! Love this Ottoman-style restaurant. Highly recommended that you give it a try! read more

When I tell you that the Pottery Kebab (beef) dish melts in your mouth, I am not exaggerating. The beef is so soft and tender - and flavorful! This dish feeds two but I would definitely get a few appetizers to make it work. The rice and fries that come with this dish is very small, so keep that in mind. We also ordered the Beef Pide and it was also amazing! I always love a Turkish Pide. This dish is amazing and serves as a good appetizer for sharing. All the food is halal, so that is great as well! The ambiance is nice, slightly elevated, pretty quiet and cozy. I love the aesthetic and I love that it's not too noisy. Our waiter was friendly and comical and made our experience fun. There is plenty if parking behind the restaurant so no worries there either. Will definitely check this place out again and will bring friends! read more

If you live in the Charlotte area you must come to Gastonia. Yes, to Gastonia! In Gastonia there's something a little different, Constantine's Restaurant is absolutely worth trying. I went for a birthday meal and we enjoyed the experience all around. The food is fresh and flavorful with real Mediterranean influence you can tell the recipes are rooted in tradition and made with care. The menu has a great variety of Turkish, Greek, and Italian influenced dishes, from kebabs and mezze to hearty entrees, and everything we tried was seasoned well and beautifully presented. Service was lovely from start to finish. The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere feels comfortable and a bit elevated at the same time. It's a cozy place that works for a casual lunch, date night, or business dinner. One of the best parts of dining here is that Gastonia gets Mediterranean cuisine done well without having to go into Charlotte. Portions are generous and worth the price, and the wine and drink options pair nicely with the menu. Reservations are a good idea on weekend nights because it does get busy. I cannot say enough about the service and food at Constantine's. Sara was our waitress and explained the entire menu to us so we were comfortable with what we ordered. Her recommendations were spot on. My wife may never order anything excepts the shrimp casserole, the seasoning did not overpower the shrimp and was still very flavorful. Vegetables were done to perfection and the dish wash served in a beautiful copper pot. I enjoyed the Prince Chicken which had a creamy sauce that was not too rich. The chicken breast was rolled with cheese and delicious. If you want a nice white tablecloth meal with excellent service and food I highly recommend Constantine's. read more

Amazing food - from the appetizers to the main course. The decor was authentic Turkish outfits and art pieces..beautiful. We ordered the mixed mezze appetizer, The hummus was the best I've had in the US. For main entrees, we ordered the Pottery Kebab with chicken & Turkish rice - it did not disappoint and loved the presentation - it came to the table in a clay pot in a bed of fire. It was definitely worth the hour and half ride and will return. My only disappointment was the wait staff, while friendly they were forgetful - brought us the wrong dishes twice and forgot some of the extras we ordered but they were kind. read more

This was one of my top 5 meals in Charlotte - it was incredible! Constantine's is family owned, which I think lent to the great service. They were attentive and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They have Turkish beers and wines and a bar where you can order a range of cocktails, beer and wine. I ordered a Turkish wine and it was very nice! Partner got an espresso martini. The food was incredible! They give you bread with olive oil and butter (candle). It's also good to eat with the food, though you can definitely order sides as well. I ordered the lamb casserole. It came out sizzling and kept that heat for my whole meal. Partner chose the kebabs and really enjoyed. We also got a side of rice to share. Finally, we picked the chocolate souffle for dessert. This restaurant has a bunch of booths as well as stand alone tables. It would be good for a date night or something a little bigger, like a birthday. They had some cool looking dishes, some clay pot that looked delicious, etc. We originally had planned to pop in on Valentine's Day, but things came up and we weren't able to come. I've only been here once, but it was a great experience. I went with several coworkers and everyone loved their meal. The service was amazing, super attentive, and welcoming and the space itself is really cute and festive. The flavors are bold and reminiscent of a true Istanbul dining experience. That said, their service leaves room for improvement. Despite having plenty of servers on the floor, getting a request fulfilled seems to fall on the shoulders of just one or two. The food was excellent. My compliments to the chef. Constantine's was a great choice to share a meal with my brother visiting from Raleigh. We both thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass and salmon with roasted vegetables. The atmosphere was perfect. It had a peaceful vibe and not noisy so you can actually hear and talk effortlessly. We started with the balloon bread, which came out warm, airy, and perfect for dipping into the mixer mezzo--every bite was packed with vibrant, fresh flavors. The tabbouleh salad was bright and refreshing, while the grilled saganaki cheese was perfectly golden and addictive. For mains, the pottery kebab stole the show with its tender, flavorful meat and aromatic sauce, and the kebab assortment let us try a little of everything--juicy, seasoned to perfection, and beautifully presented. I truly enjoyed my lamb chops, fries and rice! The only issue I had was that some of my lamb chops were way too pink on the inside and I wasn't a fan of that, but however, you just have to be sure that you let them know how you would like your lamb. The bread was AMAZING! It had such a good taste and the hummus was the icing on the cake, for sure! Overall, great experience, great food and great people! read more

A group of 8 came to eat dinner here on the Friday of a holiday weekend. No problems getting seating, as the restaurant is quite large inside with plenty of booths and tables. It has very pretty lamps and even an area to take photos with authentic garments. The food was a work of art. Not only was each plate beautiful, the amount of food looked deceptively as if they were small portions; however, the portions were actually quite large. I shared an appetizer with the gal next to me called a Moonshine pastry. It was a pastry with 3 different Turkish cheeses inside. It came with honey to drizzle on top. I have to say my most impressive part of the dinner was when they delivered the complimentary bread and the lighted candle they brought with it was actually butter for the bread ! Ingenious !!! How very cool ! And it was tastey too ! I also got the grape leaves and they had very good flavor. For dinner, several folks got the lamb chops and enjoyed them. I love lamb so I tried the Mountanjana - stewed lamb with figs, apricots, and currants (warning: it also has walnuts for those with a nut allergy). It was delicious ! I suggest getting a side of rice to eat with it. One person got the Chef Special Bohca from the Ottoman menu. It reminded me of a Beef Wellington and they seemed to enjoy it. We were tempted to get the Ali Nezdek Kabob, however one member of the group was from Turkey and stated the texture was odd. She also warned us against the "pizza" - Lahmacun because it was served on puffed bread, like the complimentary bread with toppings on it, not flat and crisp like it is supposed to be. The vegetable couscous was one of my favorite things on the menu. Highly recommend! It had great flavor in a tomato base. A friend got the Prince chicken and she enjoyed it. Now for desserts : A friend got the cheesecake and liked it. I got the chocolate souffle and adored every bite. So very rich and decadent. It had a fudgy bottom and was served with a side of chocolate ice cream. My descriptions of dinner have enticed the interest of my husband to come again so that he can try it. After reading about how incredible this place is we decided to drive from Lake Norman to check it out for ourselves and OMG it was incredible!!!! We ordered the kakbob assortment, pottery special which came on fire . We also got a bunch of appetizers and the dessert was top notch. My husband had the baklava and of course I had the chocolate souffle. Lastly every single team member at the restaurant was so kind, knowledgeable and fun - it was truly an experience. We had lamb chops, lamb ribs and meatballs. I don't recommend the lamb ribs because they were a bit fatty and not served as shown on the menu. The baklava was not fresh and portions were small. Wow - Don't believe everything you read. We were so excited to dive out to Gastonia and try what we thought would be a divine experience. That quirky Charlotte Food Critic Guy, "Andrew," truly has no idea what he is talking about. I arrived to find this place busy with locals. The parking lot was a bit frightening, and the surrounding establishments were violence-prone. Service was extremely slow and limited. They were apologetic. We were excited and looking forward to trying the traditional bread, which we quickly discovered lacked taste. The experience was essentially like eating pieces of paper. I'm not joking; this is sad. Let me try to find something positive: The falafel was incredibly, psychotically overpriced and with a disproportionately small portion. We ordered the appetizer sampler, which was embarrassing. The waiter told us to get the meal made in this clay pot set on fire and banged with a hammer--the probability of returning, not likely - not happening. The Main courses were Rotten meat, not Halal, and rotten potatoes. They had the chutzpah to serve us cold rice. How can this place have nearly 5 Stars in the name of Allah? No way!
