    Hot toasted bread (unlimited)
    Philip Y.

The Turkish bread is freshly baked and it tastes so good (with dipping sauce)so one is not enough. The hot appetizer is great. Never tried the wrapped graph leave hot. And it tasted even better. The kebab plate is popular among the patrons. I had the mixed beef & lamb and my fried had the chicken, they both were great. Love the grilled jalapeño that comes with kebab dish, it has a really good kick! Love this Ottoman-style restaurant. Highly recommended that you give it a try!

When I tell you that the Pottery Kebab (beef) dish melts in your mouth, I am not exaggerating. The beef is so soft and tender - and flavorful! This dish feeds two but I would definitely get a few appetizers to make it work. The rice and fries that come with this dish is very small, so keep that in mind. We also ordered the Beef Pide and it was also amazing! I always love a Turkish Pide. This dish is amazing and serves as a good appetizer for sharing. All the food is halal, so that is great as well! The ambiance is nice, slightly elevated, pretty quiet and cozy. I love the aesthetic and I love that it's not too noisy. Our waiter was friendly and comical and made our experience fun. There is plenty if parking behind the restaurant so no worries there either. Will definitely check this place out again and will bring friends!

If you live in the Charlotte area you must come to Gastonia. Yes, to Gastonia! In Gastonia there's something a little different, Constantine's Restaurant is absolutely worth trying. I went for a birthday meal and we enjoyed the experience all around. The food is fresh and flavorful with real Mediterranean influence you can tell the recipes are rooted in tradition and made with care. The menu has a great variety of Turkish, Greek, and Italian influenced dishes, from kebabs and mezze to hearty entrees, and everything we tried was seasoned well and beautifully presented. Service was lovely from start to finish. The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere feels comfortable and a bit elevated at the same time. It's a cozy place that works for a casual lunch, date night, or business dinner. One of the best parts of dining here is that Gastonia gets Mediterranean cuisine done well without having to go into Charlotte. Portions are generous and worth the price, and the wine and drink options pair nicely with the menu. Reservations are a good idea on weekend nights because it does get busy. I'd definitely return to try even more from the menu.

    Shrimp Casserole

I cannot say enough about the service and food at Constantine's. Sara was our waitress and explained the entire menu to us so we were comfortable with what we ordered. Her recommendations were spot on. My wife may never order anything excepts the shrimp casserole, the seasoning did not overpower the shrimp and was still very flavorful. Vegetables were done to perfection and the dish wash served in a beautiful copper pot. I enjoyed the Prince Chicken which had a creamy sauce that was not too rich. The chicken breast was rolled with cheese and delicious. If you want a nice white tablecloth meal with excellent service and food I highly recommend Constantine's.

Amazing food - from the appetizers to the main course. The decor was authentic Turkish outfits and art pieces..beautiful. We ordered the mixed mezze appetizer, The hummus was the best I've had in the US. For main entrees, we ordered the Pottery Kebab with chicken & Turkish rice - it did not disappoint and loved the presentation - it came to the table in a clay pot in a bed of fire. It was definitely worth the hour and half ride and will return. My only disappointment was the wait staff, while friendly they were forgetful - brought us the wrong dishes twice and forgot some of the extras we ordered but they were kind.

    Espresso martini

This was one of my top 5 meals in Charlotte - it was incredible! Constantine's is family owned, which I think lent to the great service. They were attentive and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They have Turkish beers and wines and a bar where you can order a range of cocktails, beer and wine. I ordered a Turkish wine and it was very nice! Partner got an espresso martini. The food was incredible! They give you bread with olive oil and butter (candle). It's also good to eat with the food, though you can definitely order sides as well. I ordered the lamb casserole. It came out sizzling and kept that heat for my whole meal. Partner chose the kebabs and really enjoyed. We also got a side of rice to share. Finally, we picked the chocolate souffle for dessert. This restaurant has a bunch of booths as well as stand alone tables. It would be good for a date night or something a little bigger, like a birthday. They had some cool looking dishes, some clay pot that looked delicious, etc. We originally had planned to pop in on Valentine's Day, but things came up and we weren't able to come. It took us awhile, but we made it and will absolutely be back!

    Adana Kebab- delicious!!
    Duri H.

I've only been here once, but it was a great experience. I went with several coworkers and everyone loved their meal. The service was amazing, super attentive, and welcoming and the space itself is really cute and festive. I ordered the Adana kebab and wow... so much flavor, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I'm honestly sad I didn't get to try the baklava. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

Delicious Sea Bass and roasted vegetables
    Joyce W.

The food was excellent. My compliments to the chef. Constantine's was a great choice to share a meal with my brother visiting from Raleigh. We both thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass and salmon with roasted vegetables. The atmosphere was perfect. It had a peaceful vibe and not noisy so you can actually hear and talk effortlessly. The menu is moderately priced and well worth it. We were completely satisfied and still talking about it the next day. I sincerely recommend Constantine's.

The food is so amazing! We got the pottery beef and it was so tender and delicious. We also had some other dishes but this was my fav. We're all so full it's hard to type haha

    Lamb Casserole
    Hannah E.

Great experience! Great customer service! The ambiance is very cultural and we loved it! My Husband absolutely LOVED the Lamb Casserole. He said the flavoring was beyond outstanding. I truly enjoyed my lamb chops, fries and rice! The only issue I had was that some of my lamb chops were way too pink on the inside and I wasn't a fan of that, but however, you just have to be sure that you let them know how you would like your lamb. The bread was AMAZING! It had such a good taste and the hummus was the icing on the cake, for sure! Overall, great experience, great food and great people!

On my recent visit I was seeking something local and wondered if there just be a Greek option…read morearound. Well I was pleased to find just the ticket in the heart of Gastonia, in a strip mall, it was  Akropolis Cafe. A charming family-owned eatery that's been delighting locals with authentic Greek cuisine since its establishment in 2014. Located at 3070 E Franklin Blvd, the cafe offers a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy a variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The history of Akropolis Cafe is rooted in the love for traditional Greek cooking and the desire to share it with the community. The founders, a family of Greek immigrants, brought their treasured family recipes to life in the heart of Gastonia, creating a culinary destination that celebrates the rich flavors and aromas of their homeland. I do love good Greek food, and fresh,  authentic, and local sealed the deal. We'd been vacationing and traveling for over a week so we decided to get some takeout and eat in.  Akropolis Cafe's menu features an array of delectable options, including classic Greek appetizers like hummus, tzatziki, and dolmades. You can also indulge in hearty entrees such as gyros, moussaka, and pastitsio, or opt for lighter fare like the fresh Greek salad or the vegetarian-friendly spinach pie. To satisfy those with a sweet tooth, the cafe offers traditional Greek desserts like baklava and loukoumades.  I was surprised with some of the non-Greek choices like mozzarella sticks, burgers, BLT, Pork Chop platter, fish platter, (tilapia, no thanks) chicken salad but the Pita Pizza looks good.  We settled on Greek Salad, Spinakopita, Tenderloin Shishkabob, Tyropita, pita bread, hummus, tzatziki, Greek rice baklava and fries. I've been eating and cooking Greek food for decades and have had my share of the real deal and these folks at Akropolis Cafe do a very good job and I would definitely eat here again.  Note: I noticed in my search to find this place I saw lots of very positive reviews and saw quite a few complaints that didn't reflect on their food but repeatedly mentioned DoorDash deliveries that were disappointing. FYI Bottom line: Akropolis Cafe is a real gem in the Gastonia dining scene, offering a delightful combination of authentic Greek cuisine, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Great Greek food, friendly people and reasonable prices, try them today! Highly recommended!!  Hours:  * Tuesday to Thursday: 11 AM - 3 PM, 5 - 9 PM * Friday: 11 AM - 3 PM, 5 - 10 PM * Saturday: 11 AM - 9 PM * Sunday: 12 - 3 PM, 5 - 8 PM * Monday: Closed To explore the full menu, make reservations, or learn more about Akropolis Cafe, visit their website at:  https://akropoliscafenc.com. So we checked locally and discovered a new (to us) Greek restaurant. My wife and I arrived about 7:00 PM on Thursday, after having made an online reservation. When we arrived, plenty of open booths , so we were seated and brought menus. Any new Greek place we must try their Spanakopita so we ordered one to split. We also decided to split a Greek Salad and a Moussaka. Our Spanakopita came quickly. We divided it and tested. Hmm. Not bad, but not what we're used to having. We actually prefer more filo than here. Her salad came and we divided part of it also. It was crisp, cold and yummy. After a bit my Moussaka arrived. To our surprise it came in a custard bowl and looked like a Shepherd's Pie. Unusual since we've always been served Moussaka in squares like a Lasagna. It was fantastic, a perfect blend of meat and vegetables. Of course next we needed dessert. My wife couldn't decide on the Baklava Cheesecake or the Caramel Cheesecake, so she got both! I liked the Caramel but so sweet I had to drink water with it. Good food, nice ambiance. Service a bit slow and told us they did have a military discount, but somehow forgot to use it. There appeared to be huge dividing panel that maybe closed off larger room for special events.

My Husband got his lamb chops medium well and they were perfect too. I savored every bite of it! The steamed broccoli was also seasoned very well and they were not too soft and not too hard either. The Baklava sundae was also a very good amount. Me and someone else shared the dessert and it was fulfilling. (Not pictured) The coffee, cheesecake, hummus dip and more entrees ordered. - The coffee was very strong and bitter. - The cheesecake was really good and all the different types & flavors of the drizzle was good too. - The hummus and pita bread was very good as well! Great taste to the hummus! The ambiance was calm, modern, yet elegant and classy! The service was also top notch. I do like that you have to reserve, because that makes the experience more personal and I loved that part about it! We went to the restaurant after our church service on Sunday around 2PM and when we were leaving, there was just one other party there, that had a reservation but it was so quiet, you would not have been able to tell. If you like something quiet and intimate, this is the place! The restrooms were very clean and beautiful as well. It did not smell very well so possibly some air fresheners would be helpful, but overall, the good outweighed the bad. Everything will never be perfect but this place was a definite 5/5 rating!

We had the misfortune today of wasting an 1 hr. roundtrip drive to experience the worst gyros possibly ever made. New management, NO manager on the floor, young people working their first job here. I don't know what side of the planet one would have to travel to suffer more offensive gyros like these. Unlike the original lamb gyros, these were some hybrid, air-injected, whipped-up meat molded back together to give the appearance of meat. One did not need teeth to bite through this mush-meat substitute with zero flavor. I tried three small bites and threw out the meal, as did my wife. The sandwich came out lukewarm and the fries barely warm. We spent $26.00, took a few bites, and walked the food back to the counter to throw it out. We asked to speak to a manager; nope, none here. We politely informed them how poor the food tasted, and that is when we found out about the new owners. We told them we were offended by the product, and they just walked away, not their problem. There was not one table with customers; how could they serve non-hot food? We informed them that we would never be back; embarrassing product. We were wiping our lips an hour later after the few bites, attempting to get the taste off our lips. It tasted like some type of grease fat - disgusting. As I write this, I see my previous review of 3-16-2024. This is HOW far this new restaurant has slid down the hill. They are currently doing a carryout business; this will NOT last long. The ONLY thing that gives this a 1-star rating is the fact that it looks like a restaurant and the walls are still standing. Could you make any less effort to run a business????
