Driving up and seeing the storefront really belies the sophistication of the interior. What looks like a factory on the outside turns into a museum and art-shop gallery on the inside. We walk in and there is a huge display of various watercolors, oils and photos all framed with many different styles of frames. This gallery really helps to demonstrate how important the choices are for framing. The selection is huge, well over a hundred different styles and types of framing for just about every need you could imagine. Thankfully, the staff really has a good eye for this and in time we had made a selection of mattings, style of glass and type of frame for our son's graduation photo. The whole experience was actually enjoyable and educational in seeing the different samples and styles that suited the subject matter. There is a lot more to this than I realized, but the selection process was easy as well as entertaining. In the end, we selected a double matting with two colors and museum glass with a dignified frame for an 8x10 portrait. ================== I was called to inform me my framed photo was ready to pick up. BUYER BEWARE: I had multiple issues with a custom frame and the company refuses to correct. The frame did not include a mounting board sized to the full opening--only a cardboard insert the size of the artwork--so the piece doesn't stay in place. I noted my artwork is 3/4" thick within the order, but the frame with the liner doesn't accommodate that depth. The art protrudes from the back, so the frame won't sit flush against the wall. They claim this setup is "very common," but I've never seen framed art that doesn't sit flush against the wall. In its current state, the frame is unusable. While offset hooks were included, this wasn't disclosed during ordering--I would have chosen a deeper frame had I known. I had two orders with this framing company and received a courtesy call to clarify the other frame, which came out perfectly, yet no one flagged any issues with this frame. The inconsistency and lack of accountability are disappointing. I won't purchase from this company again, they do not stand by their work. read more

I purchased a mirror on ebay earlier this year and it unfortunately arrived broken. I have never been very crafty, but really like the mirror and wanted to save it, so I looked up options on repurposing the broken glass pieces. I found an art project within my limit skill set, and decided to put it back together and frame it. For that, I needed a custom frame, and something that looked nice, but was easy to build, and within budget (since I didn't know how it would turn out, I didn't want to invest much additional money). I found Web Picture Frames and a simple custom metal frame was the way to go. They had a ton of options and I was able to see which would work with a mirror glued onto wood with raised glasses bubble things as a border. My purchase and my project were both successful. The mirror turned out very fun and unique (though, I don't really know what to do with it at this point, since it was originally intended as a gift). As a first-time customer, framing four identical original art prints for very special gifts, I had a million questions. We ordered a wood liner for a frame along with some supplies. The wood liner, ordered to be 20"x24", arrived about 1/2 inch too small. We expected 1/8 inch or so which is common for ease of use, but this liner was cut so small that the liner falls out of the frame. The liner itself is ok. Wonderful experience. Super easy process. I had a set of 3 frames with mats and acrylic done for some prints. First, I ordered some frame and mat samples to pick exactly what I wanted. Then using their online sizing system, which is very, very precise, which is great, input the measurements. The sets arrived in short time, and they were extremely well packed to ensure against and possible damage. Instructions were clear as how to remove the film from the acrylic, and worked perfectly. This was less expensive than glass, and incredibly light, but still looked like glass! I assembled everything myself, with a little help from the hubby to get the hanging wire and parts just right. I had a big solo show coming up, 45 works, and they all had to be framed. The cost would have been prohibitive if I went with my standard museum-quality framer.
