The only con is there isn't enough parking, but if you go during the week it's much better. Plus a great coffee shop nearby as well as a couple other fun places. There is always someone available to help if needed, and good prices too! Also love their garden selection!!

My favorite part of Down to Earth is the building. Not knowing the history of the building itself,…read moreit appears to have once been some sort of granary warehouse. All the chutes and various chambers are very intriguing, then you get into the wares the store offers. Very much in sync with the atmosphere of the building. It would seem that whatever hobby or craft you are into, they have some of what you need. They definitely have plants, containers and such covered. Next is the cookware, then canning supplies, storage containers, macrame, animal supplies, personal care... the list goes on. The neat part of it all is that it all feels so vintage yet new. A very holistic shopping experience.

It's hard not to love this place. A friend of mine said it was one of her favorite places and now I…read moreknow why. Lots and lots and lots of local companies have their excellent products represented in this store. Who doesn't love that? There's an entire plant section, and clothing, ceramic and earth and where, high-end grooming products for men, all manner of bags and carrying containers, children's and baby wear, lots of interesting scented candles around, crystals, and the like, and hairbrushes that will last a lifetime (no, seriously they will and it'll probably be an heirloom item that gets passed on). Emily was very helpful and Amanda wrapped. They were a great team. And there was some friendly chatter that was comfortable. No one was afraid to ask if you needed help and they meant it. They have a great gift wrap set up where you can get something in a box with ribbon or you can buy a very attractive gift bag and they will take care of packaging for you. All in all one stop amazing holiday shopping place conveniently located in downtown Eugene. Come find this place. You won't regret it. Looking forward to coming again.

(I checked with BY themselves.) Then Paul Schatz negotiated a price with us: I made the salesman an offer, she went and checked with the manager, came back and said ok, I repeated the offer to ensure there was no misunderstanding, she agreed, and we shook hands. But then Schatz refused to honor that price. Said that the whole conversation and handshake had never happened. A LIE! Then they said over the phone that it didn't matter because they had decided not to do business with us. BY is located in North Carolina. Found a furniture store near them and that store is selling us the same pieces and shipping them to us for more than 20% less than Paul Schatz was willing to do it. Don't ever, EVER give these guys your business. Unethical stores don't deserve to be in business.

This is the highest quality second-hand store in the area with the fairest prices. They have an exceptional eye for quality and style. Furniture, tools, electronics, outdoor items, asundry items (no clothing) - you name it. I've always left with more than I was looking for because prices and quality were so good. They are not into dickering prices, and that is okay because of the fairness of prices. I have well-furnished my house, and outfitted by shop with their high quality items. Looker Beware! They have a significant turnover of items, so make a decision to buy sooner than later! On the other hand, it is exciting to stop by every couple of weeks to see the many new items. All electronics, power equipment, appliances are thoroughly inspected. The furniture is cleaned and polished. The service is hassle-free, so you can take your time looking; they will also give you very personable attention, like family.

They were referred to my family after the passing of a family member as we needed to prepare the house for sale. Not only do they HIGHLY undervalue items but they also destroyed property moving furniture out. A 7 foot long scratch was left on a wood floor, with a witness there to see it occur. Their reaction when they were called about it was that we are paying the witness to lie. What business owner reacts this way? So when you go in there and see all the items, remember.....they take advantage of people in their grief, and are extremely unprofessional in all capacities. I would rather donate my things next time to someone grateful for it, rather than someone trying to take advantage and ruin my property without so much as an apology. Im sure thete are many choices out there....be wise
