I read a similar review that the person working was not wearing a mask. This was my experience as well, although they did make customers sanitize upon entering and had a capacity to the amount of people that could be inside so I'm a little confused about their covid protocol. Definitely wouldn't come in as a high risk individual and I am skeptical about returning, especially with Lane county being at high risk. I really like this little metaphysical shop! I'm a traveling spiritual healer and mystic and I go to a lot of these kind of shops all over the Pacific Coast down to San Diego and every where in between. I have taken friends here that have found amazing specimens in the large case of gemstones, that they couldn't live without. I get my smaller stones I incorporate into healing's at a great price and give them as gifts on my journeys. Cashier was not wearing a mask, despite the statewide mandate. Sign outside said some BS about love and kindness, all healthy individuals welcome, masking is a choice. Drove off the beaten path for this visit. Wish I could say it was worth it... I was hoping for more I guess... When I walked into the shop it was very cute. I just couldn't get past the static they were playing. Usually you're greeted with fragrance and soothing music. Not today! She had the radio up extremely loud playing some sort of rock. Which is fine if it's not poorly tuned in. The gal at the desk acted like I was an inconvenience. Not even a hello, can I help you find anything, or even a smile. Be aware of what you're being charged. This place is a great local shop with lots of cool treasures. They have books, bags, curios, incense.... so much to choose from! Their stones and crystals collection is diverse, ever-changing, and well-priced. The journals could do with some price reduction, but the selection is diverse enough and of high enough quality that I don't mind very much. The store owner and his employees are very pleasant to interact with. My only recurring problem is that I've been overcharged at least four times that I'm aware of- by both the owner and a woman who works there. Overcharged in this case meaning that I was charged at least a dollar over what I bought in each instance. I have social anxiety, so I don't feel able to argue when this happens. I've reported this happening at least once- and when told I would receive a discount for my trouble I was overcharged yet again. In short-lovely shop. Just make sure you have confidence in your numbers and your purchase. Stand up for yourself if this happens to you. I'm sure they won't mind you correcting a mistake-- I just have trouble doing so myself, which means that I may need to stop buying from this store in the future. read more

I finally made it to Stargate and was impressed with the large selection of items in such a relatively small space. However, I didn't immediately know that anyone was even behind the counter because she was too busy on her phone to acknowledge a new customer. I said "Hello" to her, but got not so much as a breath in reply. I browsed in silence, trying not to eavesdrop on the other customers who'd come in with a recent purchase that broke soon after they bought it. That apparently easily damaged merchandise, along with the shopkeeper's/owner's (?) generally crappy attitude, did not inspire me to want to return to spend more money on the many items on my list. Usually, I get fairly positive vibes from folks who run occult shops and feel more at ease asking questions or engaging with them on products. With the old lady behind the counter at Stargate, I just wanted to get the oils I came for and look for other shops where I'd feel more welcomed. read more

Although this shop is small, it's packed with calming energy and spiritual supplies. The combination of incense and meditative music creates a nice atmosphere. Most of the books are older but that's great since you can't find most of them at other bookstores. The selection of crystals isn't that large but it changes ever so often. They also have plenty of other items to help on your spiritual journey. The owner is a hospitable, experienced man. I plan to continue visiting this shop. read more
