This is a delightful little shop and I'm glad that I made it in! The place is clean and well organized. I wandered for probably a half hour or so picking out rocks and gems. Amongst those were a ruby in honor of my little one's birth month, some Oregon sunstone, quartz, and a stone that is UV reactive--so I think I am supposed to put it in the sun and it will kinda glow? Unsure, but I'm looking forward to checking it out! The prices are reasonable. I saw some stones that reminded me of my grandpa's huge collection of rocks and stones (of which she gave me a bunch to go along with what I got at Flux). They also have some artwork and stuff; I bought this really beautiful shell that's wire-wrapped with beads and the employee there mentioned she made it and would be at Saturday Market, and I was bummed I couldn't find her booth because I would have bought more. The owner was also there and she was welcoming and friendly, too. They had a large agate that they were selling raffle tickets on and would raffle when they reached 100 tickets. It was just a really cool shop and I'd encourage anyone interested in rocks, crystals, lapidary, and so on to make a stop here.

So stopping at Bree's Way, which is a new-to-me store (I'm not sure it was here even four years ago when I came home to visit) was a must stop. The woman there was really friendly, but they didn't have anything that called to me. Their jewelry selection was ok but limited; mostly rings and some pendants. They sell some chains for the pendants. They also have a lot of the standard Tarot decks, some esoteric and occult-related merchandise, posters, crystals, and so on. Parking was not bad for me when I visited, but there's not a lot of parking on Alder here. And if you don't know how to parallel park, probably best to avoid parking on the street. There's a parking lot about a block and a half down the street.

The selection of rings was large, very beautiful pieces, and cool descriptions of the many different crystals displayed. Cool selection of posters, candles, teas, and tapestries. It was very cool they had a tarot deck out that you could use..we had fun with this. The woman working was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back when we're in the area

Their selection of organic herbs is incredible -- everything I've ordered has arrived fresh, fragrant, and high quality, and I really appreciate that many of their herbs are locally sourced whenever possible. Shipping is always fast, and I love that they offer back-in-stock notifications so I can keep track of harder-to-find items without constantly checking the website myself. It's clear they've put thought into making the experience easy and supportive for customers. What really makes them stand out to me is that they're more than just a place to buy herbs. They also offer books, classes, and educational resources that help connect people to the wider herbal community. Whether you're completely new to herbalism or have been studying plants for years, they make learning feel accessible and welcoming. Mountain Rose Herbs feels like a company that genuinely cares about plants, sustainability, education, and the people using their products -- and that's rare these days.

Show up and plan to stay a while. Everything about this place was fascinating. The wall of looseleaf tea was particularly astounding. They have a small magnetic display of containers that lets you visualize and smell each type of tea before you purchase. I was particularly enamored with the vanilla rooibos. I love the vintage setting in this aging building. The coffee shop next-door is phenomenal and the local home goods store across the street is a personal favorite. The trio would be an excellent way to spend a meandering afternoon and indulge yourself in fresh coffee, natural products and a few things to upgrade your home interior. Parking is really easy in the dedicated lot and the location is quite central. Prices are very reasonable and the employees were very friendly. I didn't see a bathroom so you might have to go next-door to the coffee shop. Next time I visit, I want to try the shortbread near the checkout counter.
