I looked around in the cafe area in the Eugene Public Library lobby. There was a small hidden door open and a small rack with books. I walked in, and wow, just books crammed in every possible spot on a large number of shelves. In the front are primarily children's books and some locally featured artwork on cards and bookmarks for sale. As you walk more, there's a variety of genres and even DVDs, Blu-Rays, and even some manga. It is worth walking in to find hidden treasures or books/media you didn't know you needed! The bookstore does have some specialty media and antiques/vintages. Unfortunately, I did not get a good view because of the worker fixing the chair, but it is in a locked glass case on the wall. I wasn't greeted, and there were 2 workers trying to fix an office chair, in the cramped and small bookstore. I believe it is run by volunteers. The checkout was relatively quick and easy. There is a set menu price for all media, and they accept cards (using Square) and cash. Overall, I would love to stop by again and find some more neat books. They are decently priced, especially when you find a book that is unique or one you might have had on your list for a while!

They have a good selection, a cozy and friendly atmosphere, and all the shelves are well-organized. Like a LOT of white comic boxes. Organization is not the prime directive here, but the selection, new/used/valuable is good and the staff is the right amount of nerdy knowledgeable with out being nerdy elitist - you know the type... "Oh, you just started collecting TMNT and don't know about Groo the Wanderer..." Prices are retail for new stuff. A sleeve and board will set you back $0.25. Collectables are priced in line with the Overstreet guide, but they can be a little optimistic on the grading, so margin hard. I have never sold any used comics to them (hoarder!) and I cannot speak to pricing there, but they are legit is every other aspect that I have dealt with this on. The man who owns the store came by and started talking to my wife, challenging her as to whether she really reads or not. Then started asking about our religion and proceeded to tell us how bad it was and how he didn't want to be associated with it. Somehow he thought that her band was secretly connected to our church. Then after telling us how he really felt, he encouraged us to come back and buy some books and that even though he thinks our religion is gibberish, that he actually has a lot of customers from our church and wouldn't turn down the money. Needless to say we did not purchase anything from him and I am actually shocked that he thinks this type of behavior would ever be acceptable.
