I'm starting with this review and following up with an email to Mazda Customer Experience Center. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Wayne Mazda and feel compelled to share so that others do not go through the same frustration. I live in Connecticut and on July 30, 2025, I purchased a Mazda CX-5 from this dealership. At the time of purchase, I was given temporary tags that expired on August 28, 2025. Mike Z in finance assured me that my Connecticut license plates would arrive within 3 weeks and that all I needed to do was complete a VIN verification. That seemed simple enough.
As the expiration date approached, I began reaching out to my sales representative, Sebastian, who did everything he could to help by relaying my concerns to management. Unfortunately, management completely dropped the ball. I was told someone from management would call me on Friday, August 29, the day after my temporary tags expired. That call never came. Because of Labor Day weekend, I waited until Tuesday, September 2, and when I called, the receptionist told me management was busy with customers. I left a request for a call back, which never happened either.
It was not until September 3 that I finally heard back, only to be told my plates were ready and that I now needed to pay a fee to have them delivered. This shocked me because this is the second vehicle I have purchased from Wayne Mazda, and the first time I went through this exact same issue of waiting too long for plates, delivery was free once they arrived. At no point during my recent purchase was I ever informed that a delivery fee would apply. When I asked to speak to a manager, I explained my history with this dealership and my disappointment. The manager flatly told me that this was "a new policy" and there was nothing they could do.
What makes this worse is that Sebastian, my sales representative, was excellent throughout the process. He was professional, patient, and did everything in his power to keep me updated. The problem here is not the sales team. The problem is with management and the way they mishandle customers once the sale is complete. I am loyal to the Mazda brand and this is the second vehicle I have purchased here, but after this experience it will absolutely be the last.
Wayne Mazda needs to understand that customer service does not end once the papers are signed. Communication, accountability, and respect for the customer should be non-negotiable. Sadly, this dealership has failed me on all three. read more
