On May 19th, 2026, I brought my 2024 Toyota Tundra (mileage approximately 67K miles) in for a routine oil change, which took approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Upon return of my vehicle, I immediately discovered that the air conditioning system was no longer functioning properly. Despite my concerns, the service department including the Service Representative Eric insisted that no issues were caused during the visit. However, on May 20, I was informed that the front air outlet control servo motor allegedly needed replacement, with an estimated cost of approximately $2,600 for the part and $2,500 for labor. My truck was also returned with the "Maintenance Required" still visible on the dashboard. Then on May 20th, it was returned a second time with the remote start no longer working. Given that the air conditioning system was functioning properly prior to the service appointment, I have formally filed a complaint directly with Toyota. Toyota/Dealership is willing to cover the part but they are stating I have to pay for the labor cost of over $2500 and they are only willing to discount it to $2000. I should not be expected to cover the cost of the repair since they damaged it. Additionally, during my time at the dealership, I observed multiple instances in which customers were presented with costly additional repairs and issues identified during their routine service visits, which raised concerns regarding the dealership's service team. read more

Every time I come here for a simple oil change (because it is covered for the first 2 years), it takes them over two hours. It is ridiculous, when an oil change should take at max 30 minutes. They also take people before their appointment time, which makes it inconvenient for those who do come in time for their appointment (I had a 7:30am and two people before me had an 8am appointment yet showed up at 7:20, like me, and were still serviced before I was). For purchasing, leasing, or purchasing off a lease, they will do everything possible to get every last cent out of you. Unsavory selling practices and purchasing that is unpleasant and difficult at every turn. Plan to spend multiple hours here being beat up to buy a car. Don't bring your spouse unless you want a divorce. They rip you off equally on service and over charge for parts and maintenance. Buying at Cresmont Toyota was unexpectedly the best experience I've had buying a car. There were none of the aggressive salesman tactics I thought were universal. Our salesman was Sebastian Roman. We had already been approved for a loan from a credit union. Sebastian didn't try to convince us to get the loan from the dealership instead, as was done at another dealership a few days earlier. The whole process was very reasonable and pleasant. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never did. We traded in our old car. A couple of days later, we realized we had left some CDs in the player. We called the dealership to get them back, figuring they were probably a lost cause. Even though the car had been sold, they contacted the buyer and we actually got back the CDs a few days later. I was amazed. This place always give me problems, I only go to them because they are the closest Toyota and I wanted to use my free oil change services that come with the car, this time it's gotten way out of hand,I brought my vehicle to Crestmont Toyota in Pompton Plains, NJ for a routine oil change, expecting a quick and straightforward visit. Unfortunately, I left with serious concerns about the integrity of the service and the condition of my vehicle. After the service, I noticed a strong burnt clutch smell coming from my car. I immediately addressed this with one of the mechanics. He admitted that a less-experienced technician had mistakenly driven my car out of the service bay in third gear instead of first, which likely caused the clutch to slip and created the burning smell. He acknowledged this could have caused premature clutch wear and said he attempted to remove the odor but was unsuccessful. He also drove the vehicle around the lot and claimed the clutch appeared to be working fine. However, I was not informed of this incident at all until I noticed the smell and brought it up myself. I asked for documentation of what happened, including the technician's error and the attempted remediation, but I was denied access to any internal service documentation. I was also told that my warranty will not be extended, and if the clutch fails outside the remaining ~10,000 miles, it will likely not be fully covered--only "partial assistance" might be offered. Understandably upset, I asked the service manager Dan Martin for something in writing stating what had happened to my car and how they would handle it if my clutch fails prematurely. He told me I could not receive such documentation. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable. I called the police in hopes that a report could help mediate the issue, but the manager Dan Martin then claimed he felt "uncomfortable" around me simply because I stood near a doorway trying to get a response. I did not threaten or touch anyone. The manager told me and the officer he would no longer honor any out-of-warranty assistance previously discussed and that I was no longer welcome back at the dealership. Now, I'm left with a potentially damaged clutch that could cost $5,000+ to replace, with no clear documentation or accountability from the service department. The premature wear caused by driving in the wrong gear could significantly reduce my clutch's lifespan, possibly down to 40,000 miles instead of the 100,000+ it should last. This also poses a risk of additional transmission or drivetrain issues in the future. This experience has been frustrating, disheartening, and costly. I expected professional service, transparency, and ownership of mistakes--not avoidance, blame-shifting, and retaliation for trying to hold them accountable. If you value the longevity of your vehicle and expect basic honesty and responsibility from a service department, I strongly advise you to reconsider bringing your vehicle to Crestmont Toyota. read more

Our sales person was new (Jay) but that did not take away from our experience as he was more than happy to ask questions and his manager Josh was amazing and patient with all of our inquiries and requests. I chose a dealership to work on my vehicle thinking that the mechanics that works in the dealership are professionals and they know what they're doing, and they take pride in what they do. I also paid top dollar to get my vehicle maintained. they are paid $180 per hour and i should get my moneys worth. I came here with my mom to get an oil change and some other inspections done. As first timers, we were both a bit confused and unsure of the typical routine we have to go through. However, when we were speaking with the adviser about what we wanted-- she was very friendly and answered all our questions nicely. She carefully explained to me what a multi-point inspection included which I really appreciate. Even though they are a bit backed up with their services, she kindly told me approximately how long we will have to wait. The waiting room has free tea, coffee, and water. There is some magazines and TV to keep you entertained. The lady at the front desk is really polite and friendly too. I really appreciate this place's service, but the wait is definitely a lot longer than they informed us. We waited for almost 2 and a half hours for oil change and inspection. The front desk lady told me the car is finished and we are just waiting for paperwork, but the adviser was taking forever to come out. We waited for almost another 10 to 15 minutes. Even though they have very kind employees, the service is way too slow. Also, if you check their website-- they have discounts and coupons. I know the problem, I told them I knew the problem, simple search online details the problem, said I wanted the part replaced when I made the appointment but instead took off work time and got nothing done. This is the 3rd not great service experience - deleted my last review after a call from the dealership and an apology for the last debacle. Absolutely horrible experience with this place. Wife's car has been in the shop for a month because a squirrel chewed a wire. Barely any communication to let us know what's going on. Received a call that the car was ready for pick up when it wasn't. Another call telling us the car was ready for pick up over the weekend, which is wasn't, it was still in the garage. Now service is saying we may need to open a new claim because they didn't notice all of the damage. Consistently asked to speak to a manager and they just redirected us to our service rep. We returned the rental thinking it was ready, once again for the 3rd time it wasn't and they gave my wife a hard time with a loaner vehicle.
