We had dinner last night at WayHo--Kung Pau Chicken and Spiced Pork with Lemon Grass. Both were absolutely delicious. I love vegetables so I appreciate Chinese dishes that include lots of variety--and I don't mean cabbage, carrots, and celery! I wasn't disappointed! The portions were generous, though not overflowing, and the meals included rice and tea. Price-I can see how some say a bit pricey BUT, when you think that a full McDonald's meal can cost ~$9.00, I don't mind paying an extra $2.50 for a delicious, well-prepared meal with lots of nutritious value, to boot! The staff, which has been the same for at least a year, was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean, and by the time we left, around 7:00 p.m. on a Friday, it was full. I asked around town and people suggested this place. Maybe I'm spoiled in RI but this food was not great for that price point. The chicken fingers were over done to the point the meat was tough. I've traveled around the country & of course around the state. I've tried Chinese food from many restaurants but it have found that the Way Ho has set the standard by how others are met. The standard is the fried rice. Made with egg, bamboo shoots, chosen meat, onion, scallion, a touch of garlic, & soy sauce. I do take out from here & whenever you call in an order there is someone on the other end of the phone who speaks perfectly clear English (no heavy accent) not trying to be racist, but it makes ordering easier & much clearer. I ordered an "A special" unaware the menu had changed. She read off the order, and we were able to communicate quite easily to put in the order I intended. It avoided a surprise & different order when I got home 10 miles away. When I got home the order was not soggy from the box, still crispy. Definitely made my quiet night in better. read more

I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be so good, but now it's just awful. I have tried to return over the last couple of years and it just gets worse. I ordered the boneless spare ribs and MAYBE 1/3 were edible-I had to throw the rest away because they were just gristle and fat. The spring rolls were so greasy I had to press them between paper towels and they still dripped of grease and the pork lo mein had a strange chemical after taste. Sad to say that having been here many times as a regular tonight will be my last. My family has been coming here since it opened. Tonight the food was good but expensive but I wasn't bothered by that. What did bother me was the staple I almost swallowed that was in the rice. I called to explain and was told it was from the bag. The rice was in a closed plastic container.... no way a staple could get into the middle of the rice. The man said come down and he'd take care of it. Fighting Friday night traffic I went back down with staple and rice. Owner told me it was my fault and that I ate half. Really all I wanted was my 10 dollars back and a simple I'm sorry. Didn't get either rather told again my fault. He then begrudgingly handed me $11 dollars with a comment I couldn't hear. As I left before I reached the second door he yelled something at me. I went back in asking what he said he told me nothing leave now. I was horrified. Left again and he yelled at me again, I went back in and asked him to tell me to my face...and how could he treat customers like this. At this point he got his "regulars" who had been at the bar and back table since I first came in to hoot and yell at me to get out. To say I have never been treated like that in my fifty years is correct. I have never been so disappointed in my life at people. All I was hoping for was I'm sorry that should not have happened. I would love to rate this restaurant a 5 but that means perfection and I'm not sure anything is perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive yet the waitress was not over bearing nor pushy. The mixed drinks we had were great and the food was yummy. It is a very clean restaurant and there were many locals which indicates to me that they have a large repeat business. That's a very good sign. I would go back in a heartbeat to have Chinese food in this area of the Cape. This place was Way Good!!!! read more

A group of three of us had a positively horrible experience at Way Ho recently. The place was empty and for good reason. Before the fire, years ago, Way Ho put out an excellent meal and most people we knew spoke highly of it as a place for dinner. Not now. Since rebuilding, most of the staff is long gone, the food is terrible and the service is worse. What this place serves for sushi is simply uneatable. The vinegar rice is awful, the fish not fresh, the ginger is of the lowest quality, and the wasabi is all dried out. In our opinion, anyone eating here has stumbled into a disaster. Food was good but a little pricey, but customer service was lacking. Both of us ordered beer, and I thought it odd that a waitress would bring two large cans of beer to the table unopened. When we popped the tops, beer exploded all over both of us. Looks like someone shook the cans. We just sat there covered in beer with a soaked table until we finally had to call the waitress over. Her response? You want another beer? We asked for napkins ate our food, drank the half of our beer that was left and when the check came we were shocked that they hadn't offered us anything, taken anything off the bill or even apologized. The Way Ho restaurant on the Bourne rotary has seen the last penny I'll ever spend there. Last Friday night, they accidentally gave my pickup order to someone else. The other customer opened the bag and the food boxes to determine that it wasn't his order. He brought the bag back in to the restaurant. The restaurant owner seemed pleased that the mishap was remedied and re-stapled the returned bag, expecting me to pay for the order. I told him I didn't want to take the order that the other customer had admitted he opened and asked him to refill the order. He took the bag of returned food with him and was about to go into the kitchen with it. I asked him to leave the bag behind (I didn't want him to simply repackage the returned food.) To my great shock and dismay, the owner refused to refill my order! It was clear that I had to take the returned food or nothing. I walked out. read more

2 of us went and had an ok dinner. When I took out a Gift Card to pay the bill, the owner, Benny, came over & said it was "expired". It was six months old. There was no sort of expiration date on the card. I told him in Massachusetts you can't sell a gift card with an expiration date. After a lot of back-and-forth and him causing quite a scene, he said "fine" and took it. There was a $20 balance left on the card after our bill was paid. He actually wrote on the card in permanent marker "Expires XXX" - a week later! He then walked over to the bar which was across the room and started ranting that I was trying to use a card that was "years & years" old. I could hear him across the restaurant. I promptly got up & told them what actually transpired. He yelled "don't come back again" as if I ever would. I only write reviews when things are really bad. I guess I expected way too much from this place. I should have known when there were NO CARS in the parking lot. Anyway the rice had a burnt flavor to it and the bottom of the rice tasted sour. The shrimp dish had 4 small shrimp & tasted funny. The only thing half was decent was the hot & sour soup and the chicken wings. My daughter got Kung Pao chicken & it was absolutely disgusting. Needless to say I will never go back! read more

I had a superb lunch here recently, the best won ton soup,a perfect crispy chicken wing,delicious vegetables,but unfortunately under cooked frog's legs which I took home and cooked myself. Yesterday I returned with a friend. My friend , at the servers suggestion, ordered a dish composed of four main ingredients according to its name. What was served was a large brown heap of unidentifiable ingredients. I did spot a slice of celery and some peanuts. My friend attacked her lunch with gusto, but quickly lost enthusiasm and offered to share her dish with me. I accepted the celery and a peanut. I was stunned by what was served to me. What was supposed to be szechwan shrimp was 6 cocktail size boiled shelless shrimps swimming in a thick neon pink sugar sauce, no heat, not a shred of vegetable, vile and inedible. The broccoli in garlic sauce was completely raw broccoli florets and nondescript brown liquid, no garlic, also inedible. The won ton soup, mundane, but edible. There was salt and pepper squid, also under cooked and under seasoned but edible. I left Way Ho hungry and angry. My tab was $56! My friend, who is known for her thrifty ways, accepted my uneaten food to take home. read more

give this one a miss! wish I could give less than one star. : ( we have gone to WAY-HO a number of times in the past and when dining in, the food was generally good even though service was slow, with take-out being a bit hit or miss. last night's take-out was inedible. no exaggeration. beef teriyaki that had a sour sub-flavor and no teriyaki flavor, broccoli that was yellowed and tasted of mold despite the garlic sauce it was in, my husband said the fried rice was OK, but only OK. I didn't bother to call and complain because they obviously do not care and I will not be returning. there are better places in the vicinity. find one. read more

Granted we ordered on Xmas eve but the order was wrong & incomplete. When I called to correct the situation, they refused to reimburse. They offered to give us what was missed in a future order, but we only go there twice a year. Due to bad business practices and screwing up our order, we will no longer eat there. read more
