In full disclosure my son is a shift leader here, and he tells me that the food is so fresh, they do not even have a freezer in the store. The burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection (although I like rare burgers, but places cannot really make them that way due to food safety laws). Their service is fantastic and everyone is very friendly. Since everything is made fresh, you do have to wait a little while longer to get your food. The bottom line is when I want a burger and am out and about, Five Guys is my go to choice.

The Mr and I got a 9 piece that came with slaw, Texas toast and fries. Was expecting a garlic flavor to the toast, but instead only got a toasted butter sesame flavor. The crinkle fries were good, not overly fried and salted nicely. Tried their Cane sauce and it tasted like a peppery mayo, ketchup mix of some kind. Also opted to try their Honey mustard sauce which was just alright. A bit runny for me with a tender, but would be good as a lite salad dressing. The Mr who loves slaw said it was alright, just needed salt. We paired this combo with a Sweet Tea, which was also just alright, not too sweet which is good. All in all a good experience that we left full and happy enough to hope they make their way up to New York to battle it out with the other finger licking chicken chains. If they do I can see myself gravitating more to it verses others.

When I finally got my food, it was cold. Not lukewarm -- cold. Fries soggy, burger slapped together like someone lost a bet, and the drink machine was out of half the options. I asked politely if they could remake the food, and the employee just gave me a blank stare like I spoke a different language. Also, the tables were dirty, the floor was sticky, and I'm pretty sure the bathroom hasn't seen soap since 2022. I know it's fast food, but even fast food should meet basic standards. In the end, a carne asada burrito was delivered to me at the end of the line - stuffed with brown rice, pinto beans, carne asada, queso, avocado and a few other things. It was a tasty package with so many things going on that it all blended together in my mouth. Definitely a four napkin meal. I enjoyed it, although I could only finish half. As two meals the $11 tag seemed quite reasonable. I can see what people like about Chipotle. It uses fresh ingredients, is basically healthy with a little self control, and you can fit it into a lunch hour. But, if authenticity in Mexican cuisine is paramount for you, this burrito was no where near as delicious as can be found in any good Casa Mexicana elsewhere in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, or across the river in Trenton.
