Our company purchased over $15k worth of game tables for our atrium. The Golden Tee game stopped working after 6 months. Watson's said they were scheduling service appointments 4 weeks out so we waited for a month for service. When they showed up our receptionist had stepped away from her desk and he left. When I called him 10 minutes later he said he was on his way to another appointment and I would have to reschedule. So we waited another month. After he finally came to look at the game he left saying he would have to order a part. We waited another 5 weeks before calling to check on when the part would be in. Only to be told they had to order a part! The game has now been down for almost 6 months. They need a new service department manager or at the least additional service people. read more

Spent $7500 to be treated poorly and to receive a non-functioning product. We were sold a hot tub. Promised a specific delivery date since the product was in stock. We were promised installation along with an electrician to do the hook-up. The delivery date was missed the sales staff failed to return our calls. Then once we got ahold of a sales associate they were very rude. Finally we received the hot tub. No electricians showed up. So we hired our own electrician. As of today the hot tub is not working. Watson's evendale is terrible, specially the service center. I've bought a (defective) pool liner, they refused to make it right. I just bought a new pool pump and filter ALSO with defective part... I tried multiple times to speak with manager.. they always have an excuse and management will never call back. I've sent pics, txt them several times and made so many calls. I've been trying to have parts on our pool replaced that are under a lifetime warranty and they (Anna Stutz) hasn't answered any of my messages in 8 months, despite 30 pics she asked me to send, & recently said not covered bc my family member passed away.. they are rude and don't care about loyal clients. ive purchased from them, a pool, years worth of chemicals and supplies, pumps, hot tub, furniture and more and THIS is how they treat clients. very disturbing and disappointing. buyer beware.. don't buy from watsons. When we first bought our hot tub, during the pandemic, we had a serious issue, it had a significant leak. We were filling it every hour in winter temps. until we got service. It was a "cold mess" and this problem was on Bullfrog, not Watsons, though Watson's service team was stretched at the time, you had to wait so long for service. We were up all night long to keep the tub from running too low. It took a few tries to rectify the situation, BUT WATSONS CAME THROUGH. We got a working tub that we have enjoyed for a while now. Just recently, in the past few weeks-pump, one on our hot tub would not start. We called and scheduled service with Watsons. We had to wait a couple of weeks for service, and thank goodness it was not leaking, the heater was working and it was warm, so waiting was not an issue. BUT despite our earlier, rocky journey with Watsons, Justin came out, quickly identified and addressed the issue, and it is up and running again. HOORAY! We have some bad history with WATSONS getting upset with our initial issues back during the pandemic and have a little PTSD, as a result, lol, BUT DESPITE ALL OF THOSE EARLY UPSETS-Justin was COMPLETELY PROFESSIONAL AND COMPETENT during his service call. His years of experience show. Fixing hot tubs comes naturally to Justin and I am sure that if the job just entailed being a hot tub doctor it would be easy, but there is likely all of the unhappy customers you are dealing with! That takes patience. We were happy with the service approach and thankfully it was an immediate fix, which we did not expect. The service people do great work! We finally got our pool installed this week after almost 3 months of issues. Either it was delayed shipments, wrong parts, missing parts, just one thing after another for weeks. They are super attentive when you walk in the door so they can make that sale, but good luck easily getting ahold of someone from the service department after that. Ordered a Bull Frog hot tub on 3/26/22 with 4 other people. We were told our hot tubs would be in at the end of July. Didn't happen. Then told end of August...one of us got their hot tub. We were then told the end of September. The problem is that we have got the run around from so many different people there that it's annoying as all get out. I would like to caution anyone from purchasing from Watson's, especially furniture. I purchased a reclining, leather, sectional in Jan of 2021. The sales lady said that leather would not be scratched easily by pets and that only I had to worry about that with faux leather. She PROMISED that the warranty would cover the leather, even with pet scratches. I made the mistake of not reading the warranty in full before purchasing. 9 months later, there were many scratches on my sofa, and it looked old and damaged. I called the company, and they informed me that damage by pets is not covered. I let that go as my mistake for believing the sales lady. Here we are in November of 2023 and a piece of my sectional no longer reclines. Looks to be an issue with a wire. There is a warranty so I'm not worried. I call and they inform me that they send someone to look at it first which will cost $150.00, then so much $ per 15 minutes thereafter. She also informs me that the fixing the wire will not be covered. She said there was nothing she could do for me. Terrible installation and setup of 12 ft. Indoor shuffleboard. The promised "professional" installation team could not begin setup when they delivered my shuffleboard because they "forgot" shims. In my experience, "professionals" don't forget tools and needed materials! Service manager was of no help. His input was to offer $100 refund on the charges and have me do it myself. What they did wrong included leaving bolts missing, one of six table legs did not even touch the floor, many bolts were loose and not tightened, leveling was a "full bubble" out. read more

It's funny how helpful and nice the salesmen are........until they've sold you the pool. After they've made the sale, you cannot get anyone to call you back. As a matter of fact, you cannot speak with a real person EVER, unless you drive to the store. THEN, you wait for delivery........and wait.......and wait....and then finally they deliver the pool, and it sits.......and sits.....and sits.....for 5 weeks. Then, they come to install the pool. It took them 2 days to install it, and they LEFT ALL THE DIRT!! I paid $1000 for installation and they tore my yard up and left!!! They didn't even put the ladder together. They told me that for $350 MORE, they would haul away all the dirt!! I paid $1000 for installation, and you're not taking the dirt????? I will never spend another penny at Watsons. I had a horrible experience dealing with Watsons. I've canceled my order and yet to receive my credit back. The sales people there were not knowledgeable and had overcharged me for installation of something that they don't even install. If you did purchase something there, be sure to go back and look at your invoice. Carefully. Add up the numbers because they throw extra charges in at the bottom. We purchased a hot tub from their one year ago. Out of the box the waterfall jet did not work correctly and sprayed water in the air. We could not use 1/2 of our hot tub. It is going on one year later and the issue still has not been resolved. Now they're telling me that they can't seem to get the part or get a response from their manufacturer. Fortunately I know I'm just being fed lip service. there is no part in this country that you can't get within 30 days. The worst part is I've actually found the part I need on numerous websites and could have it delivered to my home in days. Whatever you do do not spend your money with these people. BUYER BEWARE!!!! I want to share my ongoing nightmare experience with Watsons in Florence, KY. We purchased the "top of the line" 27 'x 54" above ground pool that was installed a few weeks ago. 1st we noticed the mineral cartridge was broken and the 1st time the kids could swim they noticed several cracked rails. We had to drive back to Florence (a 30 minute drive) to get the cartridge replaced. The hose going to the pump was kinked and made it impossible to vacuum. The other hose broke and after driving back to Florence to replace the hoses, the new hoses cracked so we replaced them at a local hardware store. The installer only put one layer of duct tape over the bolts under the liner and didn't cover the bolts on the outside of the pool. After calling Watsons several times with a promise of a call back, whiz we have never received, we have gotten nowhere. I so wish I had gone to Lipps Pools in Florence as we bought our pool there at our previous house I guess my next step is the BBB. read more

Found some bar stools we liked at the Sharon Road location, but had to be ordered. Was told 4-6 weeks. So we continued looking hoping to find some in stock somewhere else. Furniture Fair offered the same stools, and quoted 3-5 weeks. We circled back with Watson's who called the "rep" and confirmed 4-5 weeks, but allow an extra week if got held up in customs as coming from Canada. Since we started our search with Watsons, we decided to give the salesperson the business, as she followed up with the manufacturer's rep to confirm timing. Called today at 3 weeks hoping for an update. Was told maybe end of September or early October as the order was pushed. I explained I would have never ordered with a 10-12 week wait. No apology, just that's how it works these days and since it's a special order no cancellation or refund. I asked for a return call from the salesperson, but not holding my breath based on other reviews. Next time I'll definitely go with Furniture Fair. Today I went back out to Watson's to looked at some furniture. My husband and I were there earlier in the week. The sales person Jennifer was nice. Tonight she was not at the store. I had a few additional questions; MC the designer asked if she could help. In the middle of talking with her and asking some questions she started helping another customer. I waited for approx 15 min for her to return but she never did. The interaction left a very bad impression and makes me question wanting to now buy the furniture. My wife and I purchased an Hot Tub and was told it would be delivered within two to three weeks by the sales rep Frank Re. This is why we purchased it from them. Wife called right before the third week to check status, and was told by our sales person Frank Re that it will be in by the end of the month (August). Again this isn't what was promised. So I called today and again was told end of the month by Frank Re. I find it hard to believe they don't have dates of when the delivery will be in. People need to plan things in order to be off or add to a patio like we did right away. The last Saturday of August will be SIX Saturday's since we ordered or 5 full weeks. Calls made to contractor, multiple excuses given as to why the job hasn't been started. Due diligence not done in surveying the site despite requesting this being done. Contacted Watson's to see if another contractor could be used. Nope, they only use 1 guy. REALLY, REALLY. You've gotten the money but so far the experience super sucks. May get a pool by Christmas. No use to me by then. This is the third time I've done business with Watson's. I think it's my LAST. No sense of urgency by anyone involved. Poor customer service and bad business practices. I bought a sofa set early January this year, the boxes were in bad shape at the warehouse and the guys with the forklift smashed the couch box against my uhaul. When I finally got the boxes upstairs I realized the large couch had tears in the vinyl. A month or so later the power went out on the left side of the couch (power reclining seats and USB port). I rarely used the couch as I'm a traveling nurse and not home often. I emailed Watson's who said a service tech would call, they never did. The next time I was home I emailed again and they said I needed to send pics of the damaged boxes but I didn't have because I got a new phone and they had already promised to send a tech and the outlet and seat not working were separate issues. Another month goes buy with no service tech and the middle seat cushion is falling down. I paid around 5k for this one piece and they STILL have not sent anyone to fix it! I was looking for a ventless gas fireplace log set. Lowe's and Home Depot were no help because they don't carry an inventory in store, and they just told me to look online. Well, I'm sorry but if I'm going to spend $700 on something I want to see it in real life. Watson's had exactly what I was looking for, and a great selection! The prices were a little high, but they were running a special for $150 off and a free remote control for the fireplace, so I was sold. We walked in, talked to Michele for 20 minutes about our options, and left with a fireplace log set! I couldn't be happier. They also had a good selection of "man cave" items, like shuffle board, pool tables, air hockey, and bar sets. Some of the bar sets and bar stools were on sale for really great prices. I'm not in the market for that right now, but it would be a good place to check out if you're looking! read more

This review has nothing to do with covid ... in fact I wish I would have looked at reviews before using Watson's. We had good customer service through the sale. Then delays occurred due to the times which is to be expected....what is NOT expected is to call and leave messages and never get calls back. When the furniture got to the warehouse you still can't get it delivered... sales person says I'll call you right back and a week later hasn't called. We are constantly calling to track down answers they cannot seem to provide. M-F ....any day, pick a day and cannot get a delivery date. Horrible customer service. I'll begin this review by letting you know that we purchased a 24foot above ground pool over two months ago. It's still sitting in our garage in boxes as I type. While the service at the store was great, the installation is absolutely terrible. We were told we'd have the pool installed at the end of May because of the bad weather and the backup, which was totally fine and understandable. However, the installation team has been absolutely terrible and didn't contact us until the second week of June, they scheduled us for a day the following week, then rescheduled it for day later in the week. That day didn't happen because they had something wrong with their trailer and it was "red tagged." Then we were rescheduled for today. They are SUPPOSED to come today, although I'm not getting my hopes up because it's after 6pm at the moment, and we very well may be calling Watson's to come get the pool and refund us our money so we can buy one elsewhere. I do not recommend that you buy pools from this company. There are better places. read more

The sign outside reads "Home Recreation Super Store," but the website says it even better: "Watson's is a toy store for adults." Watson's began as a vending machine distributor near downtown Cincinnati over 40 years ago, but the former J&J Distributing Company began selling swimming pools and pool tables, and before long it expanded its product lines. Now Watson's is operating out of 11 states with two locations each in Ohio and Tennessee. Watson's of Cincinnati is located in the Evendale/Sharonville area and is loaded with the aforementioned above ground swimming pools and pool tables, but much, much more. They are well known for the pool tables and also their top of the line spas, but they also sell tanning beds, game tables (foosball, shuffle board, air hockey, etc.), casual furniture, fire places, and bars and bar stools. They have some ridiculous home theater set ups (at consistent ridiculous prices) in their huge showroom and they offer home theater design and installations. They also have a new upstairs "Fitness Loft" with all kinds of treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, and home gyms. When the website called it a "toy store for adults," they were absolutely right. They have nothing but top of the line items in the store, many of which are only realistic purchases for those pulling in seven-plus figures a year. These aren't your average home entertainment products, but instead the type of things you might like to have if you have an entire game room or theater in your house. They also sell pool supplies (swimming and billiards supplies, that is), pool toys, poker tables and other equipment, and even some Crocs. Their bread and butter, of course though, are the spas and the pool tables. It's really a neat store, but Watson's is only looking for the serious customer in their store. When I stopped in and was browsing around, one of their employees out on the floor walked by me and gave a half-friendly nod and then immediately asked a much older and better dressed customer (I had on a UC t-shirt and cargo shirts) if he was finding everything okay. I'm not sure if I should be offended, or if I should just laugh it off that he was dismissing me (I'll choose the latter), but the bottom line is you've got to be "Puttin' on the Ritz," so to speak, to be taken seriously at Watson's. Their expensive products aren't just something a college kid like me could whip out a wallet for. read more

I ordered and paid for gas logs from Watson's on January 13, 2014. As of today, I still do not have them installed. They have told me that they are getting them from their store in Dayton (no they didn't) that they were being shipped from the manufacturer (no they are not because they are no longer produced) that they are coming from Dayton again and it is a floor model and I'll receive a deep discount (still waiting for the alleged logs and discount.) The service and follow through is simply awful. As other reviews have stated, they are all about the sale and show very little concern after that. I had to call and they said it was in and they would be calling to set up delivery. No call. I called just now and said they told me wrong. It is not in and they said it shows 8/7/20. I was never notified when the furniture was in and after I called to find out status, they said they forgot to call. Then I was never notified of time of delivery. Do not buy furniture at Watson's. I wish I would have read the reviews before I spent $$$. They have horrible customer service. We bought a table, sideboard, leather couch and loveseat. We waited one week for the delivery, which wasn't bad. The delivery was missing two chairs for the dining room table and after they left we noticed that one of the chairs was not assembled correctly and there were two plastic pieces missing on the bottom of the chairs (so it wobbled) and they didn't put together the sidebar which is included in the delivery. We reached out to our sales person, Megan Stulce who then set up another delivery to fix these issues. They brought the chairs, and we explained to the service/delivery guy (Joey) that we were having a tough time removing the leafs in the table. He said it was new and it may just be tight for awhile. After he left we removed both leafs and then the table wouldn't shut properly leaving a crack in the table. We contacted Megan again and she told us we would now need to call the service area. Kelly Fite in the service area requested a picture, but then nothing for 5 days. We left several messages and asked to speak to a manager (Rico) so we could resolve this issue. Rico, the manager did not return our call. After several attempts I finally reached Kelly Fite again and she explained that their policy was we would have to have another service call to see if a repairman could fix it. At this point I just wanted Watsons to pick up the table, chairs and sidebar and get my money back. No matter how much I told them this no one was listening. So we set up the appointment for the repairman (Joey, second visit) to come out and he determined the table was not working properly and he could not fix it. The service area (Kelly Fite) said we could get a replacement table/chairs or refund us, but they would not take back the matching sidebar unless we pay a $15% restocking fee. I again requested to talk to a manager who did call me back and restated the same thing. It has been almost 30 days and I still do not have a table that properly works. I will never do business with Watson's again and will continue to tell people not to shop there. Read the back of your sales receipt as they do make you pay 15% restocking fee even if the furniture is bad and it is their fault. read more

One issue after another! Terrible service by Keith, ordered wrong cushions for our $8,000 + patio set and have been waiting three months for correct ones to come in! They never call with updates; we have to chase them down! Look elsewhere as we will never purchase from them again! Well we did finally get the correct cushions but guess what...two cushions are a different grade fabric! We were finally able to pull out the cushions to use this weekend and we discovered this issue! Oh how the fun continues! More time spent on the phone and more waiting! Go elsewhere for your outdoor seating needs! Update on the replacement cushions - no response yet, my husband continues to contact them, leaves messages and no action yet from Watson's.
