I stopped here today to see what's out in their nursery. Pretty much the same as others, pansies and a few other cold variety spring plants. I'd been wanting to check this place out and finally made it a couple weeks before Halloween. We have a tradition of eating dinner in a pumpkin every fall, that is not in a jack o'lantern pumpkin, but in a pie/sugar pumpkin that's edible. Try to find those at the grocery store and it's a no go. We not only found the right pumpkin at Pipkin's, but tons of different squash (edible and decorative;) the Asian pears that are never in stock at Kroger; plus all kinds of wild mushrooms. Besides lots of produce, Pipkin's also has a ton of decorative items outside, plus bread and desserts from local businesses, unique salad dressings, vinegars, pickled and fermented items, candies, spices, and other items. read more

A very nice little market. As the name suggests, the central section of the store is dedicated to a great selection of produce. Samples of some of the fruits and veggies were available too. Other grocery store products are available, and it's nice to see the many local options of each available, including breads and baked goods, ice cream, and more. They even carry the Kindervelt soup mix. Across the paved parking lot from the market is a nice garden center full of lovely plants and flowers. read more

Cute, small and expensive. It's been awhile since I've stopped in here and decided to check out their fruits & vegetables and the garden center. I picked up a couple of herbs and then grocery shopped. Most everything is much higher than the chain stores, even for mass produced shelf products. But the produce was better quality and I found a few speciality items I don't find in big box stores. Also, it was nice to shop in a calm store - without tons of people, loud music and lots of flickering lights. read more

Cute little mom and pop style market, and garden center. I had such high hopes for my visit. The market is only about half produce. I was expecting the produce to be more local. The remaining portion of the market is other grocery items. Many items are organic or healty. Other items are grocery staples. There is a small selection of dairy and meat. Prices are on the high side. Many of the same items may be purchased at chain grocery stores for less. The garden center is outside. With all the signs about the garden center sale, I was expecting a much larger disscount. I'm sure the garden center is beautiful in the Spring and Summer. There were some gorgeous displays that did not appear to be for sale. I received absolutely no customer service during my visit. I passed by three employees. Not a single person greeted me. I expect to be ignored in a grocery store like Kroger. Customer service is what keeps customers coming back to small businesses such as this. Between the higher prices, and the lack of customer service, I left generally disappointed. read more

I love having Pipkin's nearby!! It's great to be able to pick up a few needed fruits and veggies quickly. I am always happy with the selection and freshness! Plus, they have much more than fruits & veggies! They have breads, staples, local baked goods, and dairy items. You can even find local meats! During the summer, I enjoy browsing in the garden area. I always buy my herb plants here, and I like to look at all the wonderful pottery! In the fall, near the end of the growing season they have good sales too!! read more

I am so proud of Pipkins for doing the right thing in requiring masks for customers. I find that these days it's difficult to grocery shop and feel safe. I've been shopping at Pipkin's for years and they have a great selection of produce, decent prices and wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable employees. Ooo I found the Newtown Farm Market of the north! I'm obsessed. An amazing selection of not only a wide variety of quality (!) produce (zi came during apple season and was so pleased with their offerings!) but also a great assortment of packaged goods too. As if that isn't reason enough to stop by... they have an amazing selection of freshly baked Breadsmith and Sixteen Bricks breads. And of course they also have plants and garden accessories. read more

I am so glad that you require that a mask be worn in the store. I do not want to be infected with the virus and the absolute best way is to wear a mask. I love Pipkins and shop there regularly. Love Pipkins! Their produce is fresh and the prices are great. One of few places where I can find fresh bean sprouts. I like that they have a nice selection of "foodie" ingredients available also (spices, jams, unique sauces etc). They offer some local treats like Sixteen Bricks breads and Babushka Pierogi. I got all of my annuals and herbs here in the spring. Good prices and knowledgeable staff in the garden center. read more

Great produce, and quite a bit more. I'm not a gardener, so the outside stuff doesn't interest me, but, it's very popular. I like their variety of mushrooms, the freshness of the fruits and vegetables, and the fact that their produce is locally grown when it's in season. Pipkin's had always successfully convinced me that it was a garden store. It does a pretty good job of this given all the pots, plants and gardening paraphernalia in view as you drive down Cooper Rd. Then I started hearing things... crazy things.... local produce! Shadeau Breads! Madisono's Gelato! I must go to there. Oh, Pipkin's. Why did it take me so long to find you? I got everything I was promised and then some. There are seemingly endless varieties of hard-to-find ingredients... tahini, white balsamic and other vinegars, medjool dates available in bulk, organic salsas just to name a few. I also found Shadeau bread (deliveries come in around 11 am), Ferrari's cheese bread, and other local favorites like Clearbrook Farms preserves, Madisono's Gelato and tons of produce. And the produce! First-crop-of-Spring Asparagus was available on my most recent visit. I also got some sunchokes and baby artichokes. They make a point to list where the produce is grown and the seasons when it's available. Don't miss the herbs & spice cooler. I got 2 vanilla beans for $1.29... I don't know if they're Madagascan, but since they were $10 less than what I paid for vanilla beans last time, I don't care. I can't wait to head back and find some more seasonal favorites. I noticed a 'suggestion box' around the produce area... I probably won't hesitate to turn in a few requests. read more

Pipkin's Fruit and Vegetable Market in Blue Ash is one of my favorite places in the area. Unlike anything I've really seen, especially for its small size, Pipkin's has all of your fruit and veggie favorites, and many more you've probably never heard of. Honestly, what are Jicamas and Escarole, and what's the difference between Chayote Squash and "normal" squash? The fruit and vegetables at Pipkin's are always fresh and of the highest quality, but unfortunately there were no fruit samples during my most recent visit. Pipkin's also has a variety of breads and organic foods, a small selection of gourmet foods, chocolates, and a bit of your everyday grocery items. This old-fashioned market is always busy and is open year-round, but it is not limited to just fruit and vegetables. On the market's exterior are various decorative items such as pottery, wind chimes, a few plants, and some more food items like melons. On the other side of the parking lot, meanwhile, is its Garden Center, filled with--you guessed it--plants and flowers. If it weren't for the high gas prices, I'd call Pipkin's a must visit for everyone in the Greater Cincinnati area, but instead I'll just recommend it for the people that can make it there without giving up an arm and a leg. read more

Pipkin's has been here for years! Picture whole foods before whole foods was ever around. It has a great local family feel to it. You always feel welcomed walking into the place. Best during Spring, Summer, and Fall. If you are in walking distance to this place make a fun half day trip to it because it's a nice little place to walk to. You can find bread from Cincinnati's OTR bakeries, Madisano's ice cream, chicken from local farmers and beautiful flowers! It has become my go to grocery. I had high hopes for Pipkins. I stopped in here a few weeks ago after months of wanting to check out the hype. Boy, was I disappointed that I wasted my gas to get here. Compare to other fruit markets, I really did not think that there was that great of a selection. Some of the produce even had mold growing on it. Also, the prices were not that great. I would pick Findlay Market or even Country Fresh Fruit Market in Anderson over Pipkins. read more

passing by pipkin's you wouldn't expect it to be like this. All you see outside is garden and planting supplies which are great! but my main interest was the inside. it's not a big place but it has things you don't expect to find at such place like the bulk bulgur (coarse and fine) rice (long grain and basmati)... many types of hummus other than what you usually find at kroger's! now talking about the vegetables and fruits there, they look so fresh and they're reasonably priced. I went there asking for figs since I love them but I hardly ever find places that sell them in Cincinnati. and they told me they had some figs earlier that week but they sold out quickly but they will be bringing some soon. so they offered me to leave my name and number and they will give me a call once they have them. how awesome is that! I also found a big bag of fresh basil for $1 and a small container of sun dried tomatoes for only $2.60 I really loved this place and I'll definitely be back I only wish they have other branch that opens year round closer to Hydepark where I live! read more

While I absolutely love their fruits and vegetables, my favorite thing about Pipkin's is their nursery. Pipkin's is my go-to for flowers for my yard as well as herbs and vegetables for my garden. The things I buy at Pipkin's always grow well - the quality is unbeatable! After buying plants I always head into the market for soem delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. One of my favorite things about PIpkin's is that they try to get local produce whenever possible. And when they do get it - they'll post it on a sign out front! read more

This place is addicting, and conveniently located on my drive home from work, which is nice since it gives me a break from sitting in rush hour traffic. Pipkins offers a wide range of local and high quality produce at very good prices. Fall is my favorite time to visit with their outstanding variety of apples from New Paris, OH--including the most delicious Gold Rush variety. They also offer a decent selection of ethnic foods (bulghur in bulk!) and fresh bread from Shadeau bakery (this stuff makes the second best toast ever). read more

I live near this great produce market. Pipkin's is filled with delicious local hand-selected fruits & veggies, in a relaxed and friendly family type atmosphere. I especially love their fresh spinach, but my all time favorites as a citrus lover is their heirloom California oranges and #1 is Minneolas aka tangelos. read more
