I went with my family, and we walked around the outdoor nursery for a little while. My one year-old had fun playing in the gravel. I do not know much about the average cost of plants to know if the deals were good or not, but the plants themselves looked healthy and vibrant. I shopped for some groceries inside and was honestly disappointed to find so few local products. Because it is a farm market, I guess I just anticipated more things from local farms. I definitely found some! Just not as much as I was expecting. And then I was shocked at some of the prices. I understand being a local business can be tough and expensive, but sadly the prices were high enough that I I don't believe I would go out of my way to return, but would stop by for some produce if I was in the area. I will say that I bought one of the best watermelons of my life. It was just a quarter wedge, pre-cut. It was perfect in every way. My baby and I ate the entire thing in one sitting. They also had some produce that is not as normal to find, such as yellow, zucchini, and passionfruit. I grabbed a yellow zucchini because it was big and robust and bright yellow, and I had never tried one before. Oh! They also had a good price on beets-- which were legitimately three times the size of those at chain grocery stores.

I walked in through the doors of the Church and found a smallish set-up with tables stocked with wares from various farmers and food producers. Fab Ferments was my first stop where I had utterly sublime Kimchi. Their juniper caraway saurkraut was super tasty too. I spoke with one of the two business partners of the fermented food operation and it was a pleasure to speak to the fellow who made the food I was enjoying so much. His affected hippiesque speaking style was appreciated, not overwhelming and lent authenticity to the experience. I was, after all, chowing down on rotting vegetables. But rotting in a truly remarkable way. Flute music was being played by another guy at a nearby table, and it seems that music is scheduled for proper marketing ambiance. The website lists some of the products to expect, but microgreens, honey, various root vegetables, gourmet cookies, spices and herbs, apples and other stuff I'm forgetting are there for your shopping convenience. As with most farmers' markets, bring cash. Wednesdays from 4-7:30pm. Street parking and probably lot parking available, though I walked it.

I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip out, as there are obviously larger more extensive farmer's markets out there, but if you are in the area and need to pick something up, you can definitely find some good stuff here. Parking is available behind the Redmoor on the 2nd and 3rd parking levels (follow the signs). My friends and our toddlers had a lovely visit to Blooms and Berries for Fall on the Farm! It was…read moremy first visit and I was honestly a little skeptical that it would be worth the money as it's a pricier experience than I typically budget for, but it really exceeded my expectations. I would recommend arriving right at open as there were no crowds on a weekday and we were able to enjoy all of the parts of the farm with hardly anyone around. The hayride through the pumpkins was a hit and the pumpkin installations were beautiful. Our favorite part of the day was the corn box, the kiddos really loved that sensory experience. Again, it probably would have been different if more crowded. The bounce pad was also great, there was a slight line but the staff person was moving people though with songs were played so everyone got a turn. There are really things to do everywhere... from there we loved the worm hole tunnel, horse tire swings, and water cycle display. Really there are things to look at (windmills, animal figurines, tractors with moving parts) everywhere so our kids were super engaged. Last, we enjoyed the petting zoo and our kids liked the giant tunnel slide too. Outside of the ticket cost, we didn't purchase anything but there were many opportunities to do so (train ride, petting zoo feed, pumpkins, and treats/ foods/ plants from the market building. We still had an awesome time without spending extra and there was tons to do. They do have dynamic pricing so some days are more expensive than others. They also offer different deals and attractions depending on the day such as free train rides or half off for toddlers, so I would recommend checking out their online calendar ahead of your visit. The farm was very clean and we found a parking easy. I definitely want to do this every year as it was such a big hit!

This market is located by Lunken Airport and has a huge parking lot devoted primarily to the market. It is open Monday through Friday from around 2pm - 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am - 3pm. Right now there are a few nursery vendors there selling plants, but that's it! When the season really gets going there are going to be lots of vegetables, fruits, produce, organic made goods, and if we're lucky some local meats! I found some cute little basil plants there today that are so cute and in great health. They made my car smell so yummy!

Despite this fact I have been frequenting it, and very happy with what I have taken home. The farmers here are required to be selling things they grow themselves. I have gotten some of the best tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, watermelon, onions, pears, and a beautiful mum (which was much cheaper than at big box places, and much nicer). The prices are reasonable, generally cash only. Bring a reusable bag, or the usually have plastic. Parking is behind where the vendors are set up.

It's not fantastic but you can cover all of your bases. The honey man is just awesome and while the honey is pricey, we feel good supporting him. All of the items are high priced, but you're paying for quality and to support local business so I'm okay with that.
