It's always cool to come with the husband and kids and enjoy family time and the summer weather. Most vendors also have samples for you to try. It's definitely family friendly and a good place to spend time walking around enjoying life, family, other people and the true essence of a farmers market - the products. My only complaint is I would like to see a few more different vendors. They have a lot of produce vendors who all mainly sell the same types of veggies, fruits and herbs. I get that it's a farmers market but some more different type of vendors (other than produce - i.e. dessert, body products, ice cream, etc.) would be a nice addition or change.

I was able to move freely about and explore the possibilities of my purchase at the various stands. I purchased eggplant and squash, cheese and pimento spread. It was all delicious when I prepared it at home. Had I planned better, I could have had a pint or 2 of MadTree beer when I was done shopping. Maybe next time.

The customer service could use some work but its always worth a stop when I pass thru. Their mums are huge ... and price of those 1/4 the size. But I came for ham seasoning my mom needed. Unfortunately you can't tell if the bread was baked yesterday or three days ago. There's a secret color code on the label and I asked the girl at the checkout what days each color meant and she said she didn't know. That's a problem when you're dealing with no-preservative items. Lots of jarred pickle and preserve products to tempt your taste buds and all from small regional producers. In summer there's a fair amount of farm produce but nowhere near what you'd find at a farmers market. They have lovely seasonal potted flowers and of course the sturdy, handmade, bank-breaking Amish outdoor furniture. They sell a lot of things like frozen vegetables, baking mixes, spices, candy (huge amounts of candy), chocolate melts, in small bags with their own label. Unfortunately this stuff seems to be bought from big wholesalers. I have seen giant Sysco and GFS trucks in the lot. They use a weird dating system on these bagged goods- just a number where 15 would be January 15 and 360 would be December 26; get it? But you have no way of knowing if that means this year. Or last year, ick. So it's a mixed bag here. Not everything is going to be local or GMO-free. Look carefully before you buy.
