I came in here as I was in the area with my BFF and we stopped in to check the store out. It reminds me a lot of Fresh Market, similar pricing set up similar, but they have a larger selection of Meats and frozen food items. The set up was easy to navigate and had lots of different items, and enough different things from other stores to make a trip worth it. Now don't get me wrong I am not going to drive 25 minutes over here to shop vice going to my local (8 minute drive) store. But if I were in the area I would stop in. I liked the Balsamic Vinegar station, they also had a honey station that was similar. The wine selection was good and the person working the area was very knowledgeable and they offer once a month wine/food tasting/pairing, it didn't sound like it was on a set day but still worth going. I used to come to Fresh Thyme more often when they offered more organic choices, however they have never carried wild fish. I will still come to get other fresh items like juice and I love that you can get olive oil and balsamic vinegar in bulk (in as little or as much as you want fresh). Only one line was open and a lot of people were there "working" standing around while there was a long line. There were other employees unpacking and putting stuff on shelves so I'd think they just got a delivery and that's why no one was able to help check people out. read more

Fresh Thyme is a bright, cheery place with a wide selection of local, organic, and the like items. The space is not huge, so you can actually see most of the store as you enter, allowing you to quickly orient yourself. The deli and bakery are near each other on the right, which makes for a lot of great smells as you enter. At my visit, a Boarshead representative was on hand providing samples of their meats and cheeses near the deli. It was also neat to see that the hot case held not only rotisserie chicken, but also hot turkey pieces. Another nice touch is that in the bakery section, there is a large freezer case which carries options like vegan and gluten free breads and desserts. The rest of the store covers all the bases one might expect - produce, canned and boxed goods, a large freezer case, and more. There are flowers along the front. While the selection might not be as vast as it is at some of the larger grocery stores, there were some items one couldn't find elsewhere. Nearby parking was at a premium on my visit, so it looks like a lot of folks are checking it out. read more

Conjure a mix of Trader Joe's, Whole Foods (without the Whole Paycheck pricing), your local bulk foods purveyor, and just a little Kroger/Ralph's/Wegman's sprinkled into the aisles, and voila!, you have the grocery store of the future, today. Just visited for the first time yesterday with wife, and the experience was amaze-balls. Size is perfect, approximately triple the size of Trader's and a quarter the size of your typical Kroger. You can walk from front to back, and side to side, in about 10 seconds each direction. Fresh butcher-prepared sausages, poultry main dishes (herbed/spiced/marinated, etc.), fresh bakery, lotsa bulk grains, cereals, nuts etc., in those über-cool tube dispensers. Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is a little bit of this and a little bit of that from best practices of aforementioned big boys. Bonus Points: The vast majority of employees are literally looking to help you, and are eager to stop you right in the aisle and ask if you need assistance with finding anything. And they do it with a smile, as though they're happy to be working. What a novel attitude. We just found our new go-to grocery store. Prices are reasonable to downright surprisingly cheap. After reading some reviews, I feel dismayed!! Wake up people.... Trader Joe's junk is sister to Aldi (crap from overseas) and Whole Foods, well, read what has been said about that "chain" lately! This store offers "seasonal produce from LOCAL farms" and it's wonderful and very reasonably priced......geez! So glad I stopped in to find something for lunch.... clean and easy to navigate the store.....very reasonable prices and delicious food gathered here! Dolma on the olive bar was the best I've ever had (typically I don't care for it, but this was wonderful)! For lunch I purchased 2 Jalapeno & Cheddar Oven baked muffins ($2.49)....super fresh and scrumptious, I could only eat one! I also purchased two ripe, juicy plums and before i hit the door, a dozen Oatmeal & Cranberry cookies for $1.99! So, for about $5. I had more than enough fresh, local food for 2 days lunch! I will definitely come back when I'm in the neighborhood! I live in Union Township, wish there was a location here too! I definitely found my new favorite grocery store and ever since coming here, I have not been to any other store. They have all of the brands and products that I previously would go to Whole Foods, Fresh Market and Trader Joe's, but this store has everything I want all in one place! This store has a wide variety of products that are geared more towards those who are health conscious, meaning that you won't be finding Pringle's in this store but you will find anything and everything that is good for you and delicious! I was very impressed by their vegan and vegetarian options with them having a wide variety of dairy free milks, cheeses, yogurts and ice creams from brands that I have seen online but unfortunately have not been able to find in the area. Additionally, they have many more vegan/vegetarian meat options than any of the health grocery stores I have been to in the area. They have so much variety that allows for you to be able to try stuff from different cuisines and diet types and the best part? It is nowhere near as expensive as any of the other places I have been! It is essentially cheaper than Trader Joe's for the experience of a Whole Foods or Fresh Market. The store is bright and pleasant to walk around and shop but structured in a way where you can go in and get what you want and leave quickly. They also have a wide variety of supplements, cleaners, protein powders, makeup, skincare and pretty much anything you would need for the house or yourself. I have great nail polish remover and toothpaste from there and I know it is a lot better for me than something I would get at Target. Of course, still do your own research into the products you buy, but I have not seen any brands that I know off the top of my head that struck me as weird. Their produce section is among the most impressive parts about the store. I have been getting my produce from Imperfect Foods for my weekly staples, but whenever I ran out of anything or there is something that Imperfect Foods didn't have or I didn't want to buy from there, I always go over to Fresh Thyme for how beautiful and well priced their produce is. I love shopping here. They have two categories that are always reasonably priced: produce and bulk. My husband and I always walk away paying less than I expect. I think that is because this place is actually where to purchase whole foods, as opposed to processed foods. The produce stays fresh for a long time, the prices are more than fair, and I love experimenting with different foods from the bulk food bins to spruce up my oatmeal or use as unique popcorn toppings. Also, the workers are always helpful and in a good mood, which I think tells you a lot about the work environment. Additionally, while they are never so empty you feel bad for them, Fresh Thyme is also never so packed you feel claustrophobic (like TJs or Krogers on a weekend)... For processed foods, we generally stick to Kroger, Meijer, or Trader Joes, but for fresh fruit and veg, and grains, we go to Fresh Thyme. read more

I love having this option for healthy, natural foods. Whole Foods is obviously more expensive, and does carry some things that Fresh Thyme doesn't. But in general, this is a great way to score great prices on fresh produce and bulk foods. I love making my own cashew or almond butter here, and it's pretty affordable compared to alternative ways of buying it. I'm able to find specialty items (for paleo) like ghee, coconut aminos, coconut . True, they do have conventional stuff at a lower price point, and the organic/grass fed stuff is still expensive, but I still do think there are many items you can get here more affordably compared to Whole Foods. This place just SMELLS FANTASTIC!!! You walk over to the produce section and you're hit with the scent of apples before you're even really there. Their milk tastes better than any other brand I've ever had either; the 2% is very flavorful and creamy. A little more expensive than the Kroger across the street, but overall, it seems to be worth it for the better taste and selection. read more

I was less than impressed. Fresh Thyme seems to be following a tired model, doing what Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Trader Joe's, and Dorothy Lane already do. There's an off-putting smell (combination of vitamin supplements and the scented patchouli candles they sell). I'm just over manufactured "charm" in a chain store. I'm certainly over high prices for stuff that's mass produced but packaged as if it's funky and fun. Am I tired and bored, or is this outfit just too late to the hip grocery store trend? These aren't, say, home-grown tomatoes and green beans (which would be worth the price) just overpriced produce shipped from California and Mexico (organic, yay! Was the semi it came in "green?"). To me, it doesn't seem like more fun to be parted from my money here than anywhere else. And it's not as if, by going here instead of Kroger, you're supporting a small business. It's a chain! Fantastic specialty grocery!! Huge produce section with an attractive presentation and interesting selection, Tempting and fresh meat and seafood case, and an impressive mix of cheeses, deli, bakery, grocery, frozen foods and bulk foods - including many grains and rices, which was different to see. Also, nice wine and beer section. The quality reminds of Fresh Market or Whole Foods and the selection is in between those two. The prices seemed more reasonable. And the layout is more open and easy to navigate - reminded me of an independent grocery - a little old school. They have a deli case, they offer normal and organic produce at much more reasonable prices, and I like their organic milk (which is still expensive). I am glad to have this store relatively close to where I live. It's closer than Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I bought some fresh chicken sausages here that were delicious grilled and got rave reviews from my family. Also bought some unseasoned bread cubes in the bakery dept. for Thanksgiving for $1.99 a bag. Great deal and much better for you than the pre-packaged kind. They also have a small but nice assortment of fresh fish. Bought some snapper and it was very fresh and delicious. Plus, the fish monger was very nice and helpful. Their seafood department looks much fresher than Kroger's. If I'm in the mood for fish, this will be my store to go to in my neighborhood. read more

More than once I have brought home produce that I found to be rotten once I cut it up. Something that happens when produce isn't properly stored. So impatient and look treat you different depending on how you're looking that day! Jeez! After eagerly awaiting its arrival, I am deeply disappointed by the cheap knock off of Wild Oats. Most of the groceries are carried by Kroger across the street and cheaper too. . The"Cheese dept." is a small sad little island of cryovac cheese. . The cashier asked me if I found everything I was looking for. I said no and she never said another word. Why even ask? They have Traderspoint Creamery yogurt, but not their milk. I looked for a customer service station to ask that they carry the milk, but this chain doesn't have one, which tells you how much they value that. A lot of people compare Fresh Thyme to Whole Foods but really the two are not the same. Fresh Thyme has a lot of conventional choices, especially candies and junk in their bulk section. The meats are low priced because they are not raised on organic feed, nor are they treated humanely. The conventional chicken is truly horrible, much like the Kroger Heritage Brand, so of course it is cheap. They carry little in the way of organic/humanely raised animal products. Pricing for organics are basically the same as whole foods and Kroger. (Best prices on organics are at Trader Joe's and Costco.) I do shop their sales and Wednesday double specials when you can buy both the previous week's advertised specials and the current week's specials. If you comparison shop you also can buy specials at Kroger and Whole Foods to round out your organic produce, and humanly produced meats, eggs and dairy. Because of it's convenient location I do buy Snowville Milk and pastured eggs there, essential oils and supplements. Basically a good store to add to your shopping if you're not into a one stop shop. read more

This was my first time shopping here--went in to check it out and was initially impressed. Prices are much higher than Kroger across the street. My disappointment comes from the quality of the produce. I bought a head of lettuce and a pint of grape tomatoes. Both looked great in the store but when I got them home the lettuce had brown leaves all the way through and the tomatoes were soft and squishy, I expected much better. Fresh Thyme has a good selection of vegan and organic options. I am disappointed by customer service though. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store and have had to bag my own groceries because they are always so short-staffed. No very customer service oriented and rarely see the same staff in the store. Also, often I have noticed "beyond expiration" dates on produce. So be very careful to look for expiration dates before you buy. read more
