Too often at big box stores the plants are not watered regularly and are not healthy, break when planting or transporting because of being too dry. The produce is so fresh, reasonable, and the concept is easy: drive up, park right by their stand, make your selection, pay and go! The peaches are so sweet and flavorful. And our grandmother requests the tomatoes frequently. They also had a assortment of green beans, potatoes, corn, peppers and a few types of melons. Now we live a bit far away, but in an online search for a place with a good selection of healthy house plants, Knollwood came up repeatedly. So we drove down & were amazed by the terrific selection of not only house plants, but also pots, gifts & beautiful Christmas decor! The place is huge and it's FULL! And the products they're making for Christmas are stunning. Even my somewhat curmudgeonly husband was impressed. And their prices, especially for house plants & pots, are way lower than other competitors, even the big box places. The plants are healthier, too. And the best thing was the help we received. I was seeking advice for plants I might not accidentally kill, and the lovely young woman who helped me (I think her name was Kirsten or Kristen??) was so knowledgeable. She asked some good questions, then gave me advice on what to choose, and then while I was shopping she thoughtfully placed two gifts I had already chosen into pretty organza gift bags!
