I sent several photos in of rugs, picture, and houseware goods for consideration. Legacies took the rugs and picture. A rug and picture sold. I was told they had too many lamps on my first visit; the second visit they were taken. I received one check and cashed it. When I checked in person to see what else had sold, Donna told me I was to expect another check in the $40 range the first week of November. That was inaccurate. I talked to Stephanie Aldridge, the manager, who tap danced around my issue. I asked her to talk to Donna about the mistake. I asked her for an accounting of what I had sold. She thought I asked about cashing of the first check; that was not the question. I knew the first check came in and it was cashed. She made a mistake and didn't acknowledge it either. She said checks are mailed the first of the month, but to expect them when the mail delivered them. I have one more check for $15 to be delivered in December. Stephanie finally agreed to send me the accountant's statement of date, piece, cost, payment, which should have been sent as a matter of course. This is basic business. One has to keep business transactions straight and accurate. Legacies doesn't contact the customer when anything sells. You have to wait until you receive a check or ask in the store. There is also a $2 charge for every check sent, which is unnecessary, particularly with relatively small payments. I asked Stephanie to let me know when the last date was to sell the remaining rugs. She didn't answer that question. I told her I didn't want the rugs donated and that I would pick them up on the last date. She decided to simply put the rugs in her office and I could pick them up, which I will do. I have done business with a reputable consignment shop for years. They take everything I have because they know it is quality merchandise. I am hardly the only person who has had trouble dealing with Legacies. I suggest you find somewhere else to consign your items.

PROS: -Fantastic pricing! Remember: the blue tags mean the price listed on the tag is HALF OFF. (I only found that out halfway through.) I thought $130 for a tall bookcase was pretty good, but once it was halved, that's just ridiculously good now. -Really friendly service. They clearly know the line between "being helpful" and "giving you space to explore". They popped in every 20 minutes or so, but they mostly kept their distance to allow us to sit on and discuss all of the different furniture. -Different ways to get your furniture. They don't offer delivery themselves, but they have a company they suggest using and all the details about how to use it. They have show models you can take home that day and other options you have to order in and wait for. Good options. -Good clearance selection. It's definitely a hodgepodge of stuff, but it's a CHEAP hodgepodge of stuff. They have lamps, chairs, couches, gazebos, auto parts (?), and more. It's a whole bunch of random stuff. CONS: -I'd love to see their pick-up hours extended for out-of-towners. They close pick-up at 6pm, and we weren't able to make it out of work and make the drive to get there by 6pm (traffic at rush hour is intense!). We'd have to come in on the weekend or take a day off work. -Otherwise, nothing! We didn't come away with anything, but they had a great selection of items, and I think this was probably one of the best places to start our couch shopping. We'd be back if we were looking for adding new furniture.

You could tell from the start she was so enthusiastic about the products and loved her job. She begin by telling us about their outside product lines which include customizable couches, and then practically gushed when she got to telling us about the things they make themselves. After seeing the gorgeous urban live edge tables I could see why. I am now dying to have them make me a table, and maybe some shelving, and more. Also, all of the artwork featured on the walls for sale is by local artists! After chatting with her for a bit she directed us to the 7 floor sister store 2 doors down. Urban Timber, located in an even larger store next door sources salvaged logs from our area, as well as Upstate NY (my home!). They involve the customer in every step of the process from picking their piece of wood, to measurement, shape, and even the base. The wood is completely dried and finished on every side making it a lifelong lasting product. While the prices are not inexpensive, you are truly getting a value for the high quality you are receiving. It is an investment. At the time of our visit a nice gentleman gave us a tour and if we had the time he wouldve taken us upstairs to where they make the tables. A sign out front mentioned free delivery.
