But I now think the Johnson Creek Menards is much better. Recently, we were shopping for a shower surround at Menards. There were two guys working in that area and they were very knowledgeable on the different brands and options. We were impressed. Also, Menards has great displays set up and you can actually see product. The next day I stopped at Home Depot in Delafield and was disappointed that they did not have any real shower surrounds on display. Also, the HD employee was not very helpful. The Johnson Creek Menards is my go-to store.

I stopped in at Menards to get paint and supplies. I needed the same color paint as we had about a…read moreyear ago. I showed a picture of the paint can and details from a year ago and they were easily able to match the same color. The staff was friendly and very helpful on what base paint I should use. I appreciated their knowledge on what kind of paint/brand to use. While I was waiting for the paint to be made, I easily found the brushes and supplies I was looking for. Everything was well organized and easy to find. It only took 5-10 minutes for my paint to be ready. Overall, great experience. I'm super happy with the quality of the paint and how my project turned out. Definitely my go-to paint shop.

8-9-2019 Went to Waterfront WI Fastenal to get some Grade 8 bolts. Walked in greeted right away…read more Told the associate was looking for grade 8 bolts 3/4 by 7 inches. Associate asked me if I had an account? Which I answered no just want to pay cash. He said he cannot sell me the bolts unless I have an business account with them. Yesterday I was in Port Washington WI and purchased similar bolts at a Fastenal with out any questions. The young man reiterated he cannot because of policy. He was nice and polite. Too bad this Fastenal doesn't believe in the little guy. Considering what I paid yesterday for bolts in Port Washington I figured I would be spent 150.00 with Watertown today. Their loss. It's very helpful to have a second mind to help you figure out the things you need. All in all, these folks always have what I need and if not, they go above above beyond to ensure there is a workaround for your project. Found myself on the other side of Oconomowoc and decided to purchase my Scott's 4 step plan for my…read morelawn. The display was marked just as the sales flyer with the promotional price. When the tran was totaled, it was $50.00 higher then the ad price. The sales clerk could not figure it out and called another sales clerk for assistance. She as well could not figure it out and another salesman was called over. He seemed so disinterested that he just walked away. I decided to go to Ace Hardware and was in and out in less then 2 minutes at the same sales price. No manager to be found and lack of training made this a poor experience.

You'll more than likely be dealing with one of the owners when you need some help finding a part or figuring out a problem, and they'll help you until things are all figured out. The first omen was seeing a man with no mask on. There is a state requirement about masks.. If you are going to post signs about wearing a mask, enforce it! No one was at the paint department, so the woman at the check-out register announced on the P.A. for assistance at the paint department. After waiting 10 minutes, I left. And the store was not busy at all! I had planned to buy the items on my long list while the paint was being mixed. I doubt if I'll go back. This used to be one of my favorite stores. It seemed like there were always friendly, usually older, men ready to assist or answer any questions. It's changed. And not for the better.
