These stores are rapidly becoming obsolete, archaic, to the point that visiting one makes me feel more like an archaeologist than a customer. They still sell correction fluid for Ganesh's sake, who on this Earth would still need "White Out?" A pencil sharpener? A big desk top calculator (look if you're under 35 you're not picturing this right, I'm talking about on top of an actual desk...never mind), actual filing cabinets and file folders (again, if you're under 35 I am pretty sure you're not picturing what I'm talking about). Well still, it's fun to shop here because sometimes you want some obsolete office supply thing you once used to have to use at work, like a little dry erase board or a bouncy rubber pencil eraser. Because they are facing that inevitable descent into history, they've got some very low prices on stuff they don't make any more. Functional large outdated desk top computer printers, bigger in size smaller in storage capacity USB drives, last year's portable Bluetooth speakers.... And this Office Depot is staffed by very friendly, eager, somewhat lonely and underutilized young workers. Three of them asked me very sincerely "can I help you find something?" and all three pretended it was funny when I asked for my wife. Well two did, the third actually looked for her. We were the only two customers in the store, well the one customer and her archaeologist Yelper comedian husband. In hindsight, I feel kind of sorry that they all had to endure me. read more

I end up here way more than I wish because it is convenient to my worksite and they often have things I need on a last minute basis. I came here for printer ink and found it higher than elsewhere, then when one of the sales associates saw me pause by it he asked if I needed help and I just mentioned the price was kind of high. "Well, where did you see it cheaper? Maybe we can price match." After consulting with a manager, they were able to honor prices of elsewhere, but it was a waste of 10 minutes as they made the decision and figured out how to enter it in the computer. Also, while it is nice that they have a print center and shipping area... they are really slow, and I think part of it is that they have employees on headsets talking to one another and interrupting each other, and when a job is looking long they will pause to help a customer with a smaller one. Also, I work for a tax exempt organization and this place has totally screwed up tax exempt purchases... not the most careful employees. All that said, you can find what you need, they have a large selection of office goods, but it can take time to get through. read more

Office supply stores are becoming obsolete due to online options but they have hung in there and they do provide services that you can't get online with face-to-face customer service. To survive, Office Depot had to become price competitive so going on line shopping isn't always the most economical. More recently, I have used their Print & Copy, Marketing document and large format printing of a banner services and love how convenient and fast they are. for my marketing document, I will bring in a document saved as a PDF on a jump drive, tell them how I want it printed, on what stock of paper, how I want it bound, cover and back page and within a few minutes they will have a draft for me to look at. Small orders isn't an issue. I've come in there and ordered two for example, for a project the next day. Yes, I pay for that service, but some times I need it tomorrow and this is the place I go to. The service is wonderful and helpful. I am not here on a monthly basis, perhaps a few times a year, but when I come here, I am usually not disappointed. read more

When it comes to office supplies, I just want to get in and get out. The up-selling and promotions really slow things down. I just wanted to buy a piece of paper and some markers with cash, and I wind up playing 20 questions at the register. As another reviewer remarked, I too have observed the headsets that the employees wear to be a distraction. Also, be prepared to be followed. They will follow and question you frequently. I've probably been here a half-dozen times, but after this last barrage of up-selling, I think I'm just going to make an effort to go elsewhere. read more

Went to get some random items and I'm not a very tech-savvy guy. Jake helped me out with everything I needed, gave me some good advice on tech stuff and even made some good small talk when waiting for credit card machine to go through.
