When I arrived 10 minutes later, he then told me that they couldn't do it and that I would have to leave it and they would call me later today. If he knew he had a lot to do, why couldn't he have told me that over the phone. Short on help, not my problem. I wont be doing business with them again. read more

Stopped at Office Max to make 24 sets of double-sided copies. Set up the copy machine to make 24 sets of double-sided copies that were STAPLED. Received 24 sets of double-sided copies with a dark line on both sides that were NOT STAPLED. Asked the clerk at the copy area about this and she said, "Oh Yeah, we've been asking to have that fixed but they haven't fixed it yet". Asked her to help me staple the copies and she said - the stapler is over there. Fail. This is why I no longer go to Office Max. read more

Sweet mother of God did I deal with a COMPLETE nitwit. This kid is better off asking 'paper or plastic?' or 'do you want fries with that?' than asking if he can help you at this store. I went in for a universal figure 8 power cord as I accidentally discarded mine during a recent move. After a 15 minute farce looking on the shelves he proceeds to tell me that the cord I am requesting is NOT a common item, rather a 'very expensive special order item'. When I inquired about ordering one thru the store this clerk directs me to go to the Epson website (my printer manufacturer) and warned me ti 'be prepared to pay $30-40 for it'. I politely thanked him and left the store. While in the parking lot using my phone I went on the office max/office depot website, they in fact do have it AND it's $7.99. I went over to Best Buy & got it there. read more

I was ultra pissed, but they more than made up for it!: I sent an order in online last weekend and got a confirmation email. Yet somehow the order never got printed and the girl working had no knowledge of it. Despite being busy that evening she made it priority to get it printed and cut ASAP!! On 12/14/2015 I bought A Canon MB2320 printer from OfficeDepot which merged with Officemax. I bought what I thought was a two year extended warranty plan when I bought their performance plan. On o8/21/2018 the printer stopped working so I called Officemax performance plan department to file a claim to have my printer fixed and was told that my performance plan had already expired. A man named mike told me that the plan started on the day I bought the printer and to send it to Canon to have it repaired. This is what I found on their website, (When does the coverage of my protection plan begin? The term of the plan begins on the date of purchase and continues for the period indicated on your sales receipt. Except for the enhanced coverage which begins on the day of your purchase, all other coverage begins upon the expiration of the shortest portion of the manufactures warranty expired. It sounds like they are saying one thing and doing another. It is 99.9% unlikely that OfficeMax would have to do any kind of warranty work the first year because Canon would be fixing it. I assumed that a two year extended warranty started after a year but I found out the hard way not to assume anything. All extended warranties that I was told by other retailers starts the day the one year warranty expires. Officemax screwed me out of one year of warranty! I went into the office max to buy a laptop. I had a specific one I wanted to look at and a gentleman named Marcus help me. It was a touchscreen laptop so I wanted to see how the screen looked, the way it was laid out, and the appearance of the screen. Marcus would not show it to me because he did not have the password. I left the store extremely frustrated and angry that I couldn't buy the device I was looking to buy. I would not recommend this particular OfficeMax and maybe any OfficeMax to anybody else based on this experience. read more
