Chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. The service started out okay and we received our food. Immediately when I received the plate there was a hair on my fries. Right after another plate was brought out there was another hair on the plate that was very long. I asked for a different dish to replace the original meal and I was given a short rib sandwich that was basically all fat. Smaller plates were handed out for the dessert and while the plates were clean indicated by the fact that they were still wet one of the plates had another hair on it. Absolutely ridiculous I've had my fair share of findings of a hair or some lint on my food at other establishments but not 3 different hairs in a row on multiple items. The manager never came out to address us until after the checks had been given and the waiter was asked if the manager was aware of the situation. The manager while addressing the issue seemed to be confused of how the hairs came about and said everyone on the staff had short hair which I found interesting rather than just leaving it at an apology for the inconvenience. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant due to the instances that occurred and the food not being that great overall which was a bummer since I was looking forward to trying the food. read more

With all the mixed reviews I wasn't sure if I should have high expectations but it did not disappoint. I ordered the chorizo chilaquiles with mole and it was an excellent brunch decision. Hit all my senses with the sweet and savory. My husband enjoyed his Cuban sandwich but he will likely order something different next time because of flavor preferences, not a bad a sandwich. We did the bottomless mimosas for $19. Pricey for what ended up being 2 glasses, but they adjusted the mimosa like I asked so I can't complain too much. Our server was very sweet and accommodating and the music was very chill and easy on the ears. Side note: this was the perfect dining experience for my toddler who got to dance to the live music while we waited for food. I felt like I could actually relax as a parent and eat while enjoying myself. I still have a smile on my face an hour after leaving. Good happy hour and live music I believe the live music is only on the weekends. The service is on point and the manager seems present every time I have been there. I would love to take some of the items at Sea fresh and put them on Waterside's menu. I would love to add some great items to happy hour menu. A group of us recently visited the Waterside Restaurant for the first time and our minds were absolutely blown! It is located beautifully with an amazing ocean view, wonderful music playing in an elegant atmosphere. The service was friendly and spot on. Our drinks were always filled and they checked on us just the right amount of times to see how we were doing without it feeling like they were on top of us. With all of that said I am delighted to say I am saving the best for last and that is the amazing food that was served! As a group we decided to order a variety of different dishes and share. We started with the Szechuan pork ribs, chicken wings and calamari. The ribs were outstanding and the special sauce was truly divine, the chicken wings were cooked to perfection with 3 different sauces on the side and the calamari was by far the best calamari we have ever had! Our mains were the slow braised short ribs, the Waterside cloppino and a fish special with pasta that were all to die for!!! Last but not least we ordered one of every dessert on the menu and each one was spectacular in its own right with the bread pudding being my personal favorite! We don't live close by but we will definitely be making the drive on a regular basis to continue to have the pleasure of this delicious and uplifting dining experience. read more

I don't know how this place stays in business. The bands are loud and they are terrible. They play so loudly outside that they ruin the atmosphere for their diners and for the diners at the other nearby restaurants. I was staying at a hotel acRoss the marina from this restaurant and could hear the "singer" wailing away while I was inside my room. Our server, drinks and food were terrible. We had a young man as our server. There was a woman server that seemed to be giving great service. We wished we had her. Our drinks sat empty many times. I want to say that I do not live in California. I am just visiting. Maybe my expectations are too high but i wanted to leave a review to see if the owners care. The restaurant was dead when I came in at 7:15 on an OpenTable reservation. I could see 6 employees at the time and only 5 customers. Including me. The employees were more concerned about closing procedures than serving the customers. Very disappointed. I hope this in not the new normal or normal here because I am looking to move here in the close future and this is the only "decent" restaurant in the area besides the "Shores". We held a private dinner after our wedding on the beach on one of the patios here at waterside. From start to finish it was amazing. Working with the owner to schedule the event was so easy and he was accommodating and helpful. We are from out of state and booked waterside although we had never been there. Our wedding meal was amazing the staff were helpful and fun and the food was delicious. Everything was ten times more then I could of ever imagined. And exactly the intimate easy going evening we wanted with our family. Thank you for a unforgettable dinner. I noticed a few reviews claiming the owner is racist towards Hispanic individuals. I do not believe this is true. Nearly my entire party of 25 were Hispanic besides about 5 individuals and the owner treated us amazing. Even provided us with a large Bluetooth speaker to play our own music which was all Spanish music. To make it even worse my drink tasted awful and the 2 others I was sitting with got drinks other than what they had ordered. Where did this person come from? She definitely brings the whole place down. My bill wasn't even correct and for $72.00 I would think it should be, plus I paid for drinks that I did not get.
