Ate here for the first time yesterday, service was good, selection was better than most, ambiance nice but food, like most restaurants here in Florida, tasteless. We ordered the ahi appetizer and it was very rare on one side and over cooked on the other. Hubby ordered the clam chowder as an appetizer and was disappointed. For dinner I ordered the ribs and they were accommodating but the ribs, although supposedly blackened with seasoning, were very gamy. Hubby ordered the salmon with bourbon sauce and he said it was gross. I ordered a skinny margarita and they put lemon juice, orange juice and tequila but no agave so it was also tasteless. First, the reason I chose to go here, was the owners comments to some of the yelp reviews, they made me laugh. As for my review, can not say anything bad about this place. Tina was our waitress and she was wonderful. to start the meal, a nice cold crisp salad, along with the beer muffins and a shrimp cocktail. all 3 were great, the muffins I could eat 10 off them and still smile. our meals were salmon and prime rib with baked potatoes. to our surprise the potato was cooked and hot, do not get this a lot. the prime rib and salmon were delicious, the right size for an early dinner. prime rib was very tender served with a nice au jus. Terrible experience. My steak was ordered MR but came MW and the server didn't come back to check in a timely manner so we were standing around waiting for my to re-cook to go. My mom had the Mahi Mahi and it was terribly dry. Again couldn't complain in time. My dad complained to the owner on the way out and she just stood there with her arms crossed with an unexplainable and rude sorry!!!! My dad's ribs weren't great but edible and our friend had the escargot which also was fair!!!! read more

Wonderful food and very accommodating staff. Our waiter was AMAZING. 16 people on Friday, 7/5. He allowed us to move tables around and add a table at the end. Allowed for 5 separate checks and all were correct. I wish I remembered his name because I would love to give him a shoutout. The owner was also very accommodating and super sweet. I was visiting sarasota florida and decided to venture out a little and found this spot in nokomis about 20 mins from siesta key, it was absolutely amazing! My mom moved to Nokomis 6 years ago and we drove past this restaurant many times, but never stopped in. Her friends recommended it and we went with them (they are regulars) and had a great meal. We liked it so much we came back 3 days later on our own. I had the tuna app and shish-kabobs. My mom had the burger both nights. They have a nice wine list and it is reasonable. Overall a nice place- we'll definitely be back. The people working here are very friendly too :) I have to mention the bathroom also- very clean and awesome lighting/mirror - LOL! read more

I thought this place was very good. I ordered the swordfish and it was very well done. My wife ordered a steak and it was ok. Some of this is because she likes it well to medium well. The place was packed. Had reservations and seated immediately. Waitress approached our table after 5 minutes, and took drink orders. 10 minutes later returned with drinks took our food order. H The manager is only upset about the review not being perfect, does not take into account that I could have been very sick or worse if I had not been overly cautious. Takes no responsibility for his or his staffs disregard for their customers welll being. The manager is offering to bribe you with cheesecake instead of fixing the problem. The problem being that they DO NOT value their customers and will bribe you to better his reviews. He is saying that items I am allergic to were not on my plate. But yet they were served to me. Before coming to Waterfrontoo, I called asking if I would have a problem eating there with my food allergy. I was assured they were very careful about food allergies, and yes, come. When I ordered I mention numerous times to the server of my allergy and asked to check with her chef to make sure I could eat the items served to me. When I got my meal and side dishes, I again asked to check if I could eat them. She came back saying both sides contained ingredients I am allergic to. In many restaurants the staff takes very good care of allergy issues. Waterfrontoo does not worry that you could end up in the emergency room or worse. The manager's response was upsetting to me. He thought the waitress made a mistake? How many mistakes? The Chef made a mistake? If I ate their mistakes I could have been extremely sick. Yes, I can forgive the tartar sauce but my side dish, No. All I'm saying is that many of us have food allergies. We like to eat out. Please don't make it impossible and dangerous for us. She brought me olive oil for my salad but no vinegar. When my meal came there was Tartar sauce on my plate. That has soy. I ordered mushrooms and onions on the side which is extra. When it arrived I asked if she checked for soy. She did not and later found out it was made with soy oil. Good thing I did not eat it. I asked her to take it back and she offered it to our table. When I got my bill I found she charged me for it. When I asked her to please take it off my bill she got short with me and said she will speak to her manager. She took it off my bill but was not nice about it. I don't know if she ever asked the chef to be careful with my meal but it was a good thing I was careful. Very disappointed. We had a most enjoyable dinner last Wednesday night. Although they don't accept reservations for party of 2 the wait was well worth it . First time here. 1. Food -- Quality was excellent and preparation was fine. Overall I'd give the food a solid "B." Seems like the kind of place where you're sure to get a good meal, and depending on what you order, maybe a great meal. We'll definitely go back. 2. Service -- Friendly and attentive. 3. Prices -- Reasonable. 4. Portions -- Filling, but not ridiculously large. 5. Atmosphere -- Cozy. A lot of wood. Reminded me of a supper club you'd find in Wisconsin. Not overly loud. 6. I'm from out of town but was brought here after hearing good things about the steaks. Sadly, I was not a fan of any of the food I had. The rolls were spongy and flavorless. The salad was mediocre at best. My prime rib felt very chewy and had almost a raw texture about it even though it was ordered medium. The broccoli with my entree was definitely over cooked. Had to take some home plus a piece of key lime pie. The beer rolls were somewhat unique and enjoyable. Great ambiance. Our server was friendly, attentive and efficient. No missteps for anyone.
