First visit and overall I was impressed. Sat at the bar for dinner and it was a busy place. I ordered the Filet & Lobster and sides of green beans and mushrooms & onions. Lobster was perfect. Filet was cooked to perfect temp of medium-rare but the outside was a bit burnt. Green beans had garlic and were awesome. Mushrooms & onions were excellent. The dinner rolls were beer bread which was unique but next time I'll pot for the garlic bread. Wonderful food and very accommodating staff. Our waiter was AMAZING. 16 people on Friday, 7/5. He allowed us to move tables around and add a table at the end. The place was packed. Had reservations and seated immediately. Waitress approached our table after 5 minutes, and took drink orders. 10 minutes later returned with drinks took our food order. My mom moved to Nokomis 6 years ago and we drove past this restaurant many times, but never stopped in. Her friends recommended it and we went with them (they are regulars) and had a great meal. We liked it so much we came back 3 days later on our own. I had the tuna app and shish-kabobs. My mom had the burger both nights. They have a nice wine list and it is reasonable. I thought this place was very good. I ordered the swordfish and it was very well done. My wife ordered a steak and it was ok. Some of this is because she likes it well to medium well. H The manager is only upset about the review not being perfect, does not take into account that I could have been very sick or worse if I had not been overly cautious. Takes no responsibility for his or his staffs disregard for their customers welll being. The manager is offering to bribe you with cheesecake instead of fixing the problem. The problem being that they DO NOT value their customers and will bribe you to better his reviews. He is saying that items I am allergic to were not on my plate. But yet they were served to me. Before coming to Waterfrontoo, I called asking if I would have a problem eating there with my food allergy. I was assured they were very careful about food allergies, and yes, come. When I ordered I mention numerous times to the server of my allergy and asked to check with her chef to make sure I could eat the items served to me. When I got my meal and side dishes, I again asked to check if I could eat them. She came back saying both sides contained ingredients I am allergic to. In many restaurants the staff takes very good care of allergy issues. Waterfrontoo does not worry that you could end up in the emergency room or worse. The manager's response was upsetting to me. He thought the waitress made a mistake? How many mistakes? The Chef made a mistake? If I ate their mistakes I could have been extremely sick. Yes, I can forgive the tartar sauce but my side dish, No. All I'm saying is that many of us have food allergies. We like to eat out. Please don't make it impossible and dangerous for us. Earlier Review Very disappointed in the service. The fish I had was good. Before ordering I told the waitress I had a soy allergy. She said no problem. She brought me olive oil for my salad but no vinegar. When my meal came there was Tartar sauce on my plate. That has soy. I ordered mushrooms and onions on the side which is extra. When it arrived I asked if she checked for soy. She did not and later found out it was made with soy oil. Good thing I did not eat it. I asked her to take it back and she offered it to our table. When I got my bill I found she charged me for it. When I asked her to please take it off my bill she got short with me and said she will speak to her manager. She took it off my bill but was not nice about it. I don't know if she ever asked the chef to be careful with my meal but it was a good thing I was careful. Very disappointed. I'm from out of town but was brought here after hearing good things about the steaks. Sadly, I was not a fan of any of the food I had. The rolls were spongy and flavorless. The salad was mediocre at best. My prime rib felt very chewy and had almost a raw texture about it even though it was ordered medium. The broccoli with my entree was definitely over cooked.
