I was visiting from California. My daughter got carsick and threw up on her clothes and in the car. In panic, I was searching for a laundromat and took a chance on coming to the waterfront. This place is very clean nice the lady is very nice in the front. They also have self-serve options and they have drop your load before 2 PM and they will wash it for you for a very cheap cost. They have supplies here if needed and there's also a CVS within walking distance if you wanted to pick up detergent. This place is great for locals and people who are traveling. read more

Waterfront Laundry is my favorite laundromat I. The North End. It is clean, spacious and usually has a machine open, even during peak hours. A big plus is that you can exchange coins there- they even have an atm inside if you need cash! Also if you don't have time to do your laundry yourself, they also have a wash and fold service with a super quick turn around time. One thing that would make it even better would be if they had wifi to get a little work done while waiting for your laundry, but nothing a hotspot can't fix. This place is THE WORST. As someone who has used this laundromat multiple times, I can guarantee you will get harassed by the woman who works here. Here are her favorite things to yell at customers for: - "DON'T PUT COMFORTERS IN THE MACHINE!" She yells this one at me every time I walk in, even though I've literally never brought a comforter. Chill. Out. - "DON'T SLAM THE DOOR!" If you close a machine door too loudly in her presence, it seems to trigger her. Last, but not least, you can be sure she'll give you attitude if you want to convert any bill above a $10 into quarters. She will physically go check to see if you're doing laundry before giving you the quarters. She's asked me why I need $20 of quarters before multiple times. Some quick math for you: this place is currently $9 to wash and dry 1 load. 2 loads of laundry is therefore $18, which is awfully close to $20. If she's so worried about people asking for quarters they don't intend to use at the laundromat, here are the options: (1) lower the prices, (2) install credit card machines, or (3) stop giving customers shade for asking for $20 worth of quarters. Simple. In summary, avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth the mental trauma of this woman. read more

Unfortunately, the washing machine I chose to use must have been used for dying black clothing previously. I washed my white duvet comforter and white sheet with pillow case and a few light clothing items. The duvet cover and sheet were special ordered from Caspar bedding from the U.K. I had had them for a few years . They are my favourite sheets. Everything in this load came back stained with black streaks and black smudges-everything. I noticed it immediately upon taking the clothing out, but did not know it was so bad, and they were closing for the night. I expect the clothing is cleaned but the entire load was ruined. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. Accidentally got the washer door caught on my pant leg and the machine broke and wouldn't pause. The woman working and the owner were telling me that the machine doesn't pause despite there being a button that said pause on the machine, and the fact that a washing machine that doesn't pause is a safety hazard. Now all my clothes are ruined and to make matters worse, the owner got on the phone and started screaming at me for no reason! I had not even asked to speak to the owner and when I did was met with just swearing and screaming. Left stressed and traumatized. There are plenty of laundromats in the North end. The waterfront laundry is a hidden gem in the historical North end neighborhood. The facility is clean and all units are working for self laundering. The girls who handled the drop off and pick up laundry are the best!! They make the clothes smell great and they fold impeccably. I highly would refer this laundromat to anyone I know. The woman was excellent! She took care of our laundry quickly, promptly and beautifully. She was a lifesaver.

This place is the absolute worst. There is no mask compliance from the woman who works here. The machines are older and don't always work, and the woman is quick to scold the customer for the machines filling with water (isn't it your job to maintain them?!) The machines are ineffective and eat quarters. Don't bother asking for your money back- even when the machine eats your coins. Older men take off their clothes to wash them and then try to chat with you while you're waiting for your clothes. Just awful and unpleasant. There are so many other spots to do laundry around the North End. read more

Owned by my "pal Sal" his name is Sal so that's just what I always say, he's a true gentleman. When something happens, he takes care of it right away and more than makes up to it. Through the years I've talked to numerous of the attendants and they've almost all been really nice. I loved coming in the morning during the week and seeming "chicken" Sam. Super clean store front, with up to dated washers and dryers. Kinda pricy considering it's $3.5 per load for washer and $2 for dryer. And it's quarters only. But they have an ATM inside and you can go to the counter to change for quarters. 25 mins for a washing cycle and 32 mins for drying cycle. You can sit on the couch to read or watch TV while waiting, they have two iPads for customers to use too. read more

This place helped me through a bind! Stayed in North End for a month and the place I was living had no laundry. They could do same day or next day wash and fold vs. me having to sit around and wait for the machines. Less costly than Back Bay places or Brookline for that matter. read more

Waterfront Laundry was quick (ready a few hours later), reasonably priced, and did a great job (put my shirts on hangers, and nicely folded all the other clothes). They price general laundry by the pound - far cheaper than any hotel's laundry service. Would definitely use them again if I need laundry the next time I'm in Boston. I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Waterfront! My boyfriend and I have been using their drop off service for about six months now and couldn't be happier. The price is SO FAIR, and they are FAST. They take great care in folding our clothes, towels and sheets so nicely. They even match socks (which seems like a small thing, but we go through a lot of socks!). Icing on the cake: my boyfriend and I drop our laundry off maybe once a month (sometimes more), so sometimes we're dropping off 50+ pounds of laundry. One particular day, I was at work so my boyfriend picked up our entire load once it was done. We live about a 2-minute walk away from Waterfront, and the owner offered to help my boyfriend carry our laundry back to our apartment. My boyfriend politely declined, but he was insistent. Seriously - how nice is that? I can't say enough good things about this business. Thank you, Waterfront!! We'll be loyal customers as long as we live in the North End! read more

Want to get your laundry done while grooving to the best of the 70's and 80's? The Waterfront is where it is at. Do your wash while hearing that Elton John song you forgot even existed. They seem to have a disproportionate number of washers to dryers, so during busy times there is some back up and a line for the dryers. There are perks to this place though. Free soap is given out on Mondays (haven't cashed in on this yet), there is a new flat screen tv to watch and newly installed free wifi (although no one was using it) I am still waiting for the bar though. read more

Since then we have made a dozen or so trips back to the Boston area. We have stayed in numerous areas and tried other cleaners. NO ONE can touch this place. Now, whether we are in Brookline, Jamaica Plain or even Dorchester, we make the drive to the North End to have our laundry worth it. $2.25 for a load of laundry. 25 cents for 6 minutes of the dryer. Be careful not to overload the washing machines because things will end up with soap stains. This place is more expensive than Virgilio's but so much more pleasant. Also, Virgilio's gets very crowded (probably because of it being cheaper). Like I said on my review of Virgilio's, the very mean/rude woman makes it unappealing to go there. So really, it is up to you to choose between the cheaper laundromat and the more pleasant atmosphere. Ack. read more

I like the dollar a pound they offer here. Gets my laundry done with very little fuss. There is a ten dollar minimum though. (Not a problem for me I have a lot of clothes). I tried to do my laundry here on my own once but it was kind of uncomfortable. The guy who, I assume owns the place, kept yelling at the people outside. The only reason this place is getting 3 stars is two things: they never turn on the AC during the hot weather. It is so hot in there due to many dryers running, and they should be aware of this. The drop off service seems great and a lot of people use it, but since I only live 3 doors down I have no problem doing my own laundry. It costs 3.50 to use the washer and 2.00 for the dryer. I'm on Unity and used to go to Virgilio's all the time, but have since switched to Waterfront (which seems closer). First, Virgilio's can get CROWDED!!! Like, i've nearly had fights over dryers. Plus once you do get a dryer, I'm pooring a gazillion quarters in & sometimes it's not even dry. I've had to hang dry things after an hour in the "dryer". Staff can be trying. There's a young girl who is almost always yelling to or about someone. She was always nice to me though. There's an older (dyed?) black haired women who is MEAN. Anyhooo, even tho Waterfront is more expensive, even tho there are fewer dryers (made up for by the fact they are jumbos), I find I am in and out when doing my laundry. And the dryers always work - 4 quarters ALWAYS dries my shirts; 5 ALWAYS dries my heavy cottons (and i can put tons in). They play ridiculous, old music - each song makes my laugh (think Anita Baker and Taylor Dayne). Hilarious. The caveat is the limited number of dryers. That said, if you're there when your wash is done and stake your claim on a dryer, you are good. read more

After paying for my clothes to be washed, dried, and folded, every single piece of clothing came back incredibly wrinkled. This sounds like a bougie thing to complain about, but when you pay for the service, the last thing you expect would be to iron literally everything. Great service at a great price. Stayed in North End Boston for business which unexpectedly lasted longer than the planned 6 days. This business offers dry cleaning, self serve laundry, and same day drop-off wash and fold. Utilized the drop-off service and could not be happier. They charge $1.25 per pound (8lb minimum charge) for wash and fold. Dropped off two standard hotel laundry bags at 9AM and picked-up one plastic bag filled with my clothes neatly folded at 4PM. It is super hot in there, so if you are going to do your laundry, the morning time is the best, and later in the day as they don't seem to have their air conditioner working.
