Wonderful service! Very good quality work. I was traveling for work was delayed picking up the gentleman was very understanding and helpful.

Great little local full service laundry/dry cleaning/folding etc located in the heart of the North End. You can wash your own for short money or have the girls wash and fold for you. They also do dry cleaning. Parking on the street is residents only so with double park to pick up drop off or live in the neighborhood. Ideas??? Drop off a load and eat and enjoy the speeder of Little Italy and go home with your clean laundry. The location is super clean. FYI no bathroom. Do drop off and pick up is encouraged. read more

It's so wonderful when your neighborhood cleaners also turns out to be great. We take our clothes over every 2 weeks for the wash and fold service. The husband & wife team are very nice. Everything always comes back perfect - clean and folded, smelling fresh. We've had a few blankets cleaned there and I've also had a couple pair of pants hemmed there as well. So thankful to have Lan's at our disposal when we don't have our own washer & dryers. read more

I have been using Lan's Laundry for the past 3 years. I had switched mostly due to the great service of pick-up and drop-off. They do a great job with my professional attire which allows me to look my best and professional as I work as a Hospice Chaplain. As I Clergy I have entrusted Lan's to dry clean my Liturgical Vestments and they do a superb job at a great price on pieces such as these. What can I say, it is a laundromat in the busy North End. They have dry cleaning service, $1 a pound wash/dry/fold (both of which I have not used), washers, small and large dryers. They are a little cheaper than others in the area, but not enough to hike it too much farther than you have to. I guess what makes this stand apart from the others, is that it has the bigun washer: it fits 4 loads. Great place to get carpets, blankets, comforters, laundry for a month, and other big stuff done without getting yelled at from trying to stuff it into the regular washers. Only have had to wait for a washer once and when the dryer didn't work, the owner was quick to give me the time that I had lost, without questions. I have been living across the street from Lan's for 11 years. Now that I am moving I have reflected on the service they have provided over the last decade and I can't believe I never wrote them a review. They are consistently fantastic! - They are extremely clean, never had a problem using their washers or dryers. - The dry cleaning is so convenient, affordable, and reliable. Never lost a thing! - They recycle! - Their tailoring is fabulous. I've had a number of different items taken care of there, including a bridesmaid (actually best lady but whatever) dress and it came out fantastic! All this plus great customer service. I'm going to miss them and will pretend Lan is with me when I am in my new house with my new washer dryer. read more

Just getting back from Lan's now with a bridesmaid dress that needed major tailoring. She did an AMAZING job- the dress and seams look better than when I got it from the bridal salon. First time I have used her to tailor and will definitely do it again. Having lived in the North End for over two years we go here weekly to do our laundry. About $5 to get a full load through the washer and dryer. If you have her do it (and we started taking all our towels and sheets for laundry service) it's $1/lb and well worth it- I never learned how to fold a fitted sheet!! My husband has used the dry-cleaning service for work a few times and they have been on time and clean and fairly priced. As to the people reviewing them as mean??? I'm not sure which laundromat you were at but you definitely weren't at Lan's. She is the sweetest woman and her husband has always been polite as well. She says hi to us in the street and always has a smile. If you're like the 99% of us that don't have laundry in your building this is a clean, easy place to do it. This is my first review, although I'm a big fan of yelp in general. Anyhow, I felt compelled to write this and share my experience. I live nearby in the north end, so this was a relatively convenient option for me. The service has always been bad, even by undemanding dry cleaning standards. I only write this note to alert others - do not take your laundry here. In short - the husband is extremely rude, the clothing is sometimes delayed, and they frequently look to overcharge. I brought some wash and fold laundry, which was dropped off on a Sunday along with my laundry bag. They lost a key piece of the laundry bag, which hooks into the laundry cart. When I mentioned this, I was told that I must have lost this piece. After a bit of discussion, they admitted that it must have been lost during the wash. After a subsequent discussion, they agreed to look for the missing piece. Nothing was found, and no explanation or remedy was offered (e.g. replace piece, refund money, even a simple apology). Go to Fleet Dry Cleaners instead - the work is more reliable and the people are pleasant. I would never go back to Lan's - this place is awful. read more

Dependable, efficient and somewhat affordable. Basically like having your Mom do your Laundry, but with a funds due. I do think they should have a frequent visitor card like every 10 drop offs of 10 lbs or more get one free or 1/2 price... I have not checked out their competitors in the hood cus if it works and is convienent why fuss. Ive been going to Lan's Laundry for 4 years now and its always been excellent. I do my laundry there myself sometimes but many times I drop it off which I prefer. It comes out a lot better when they do it rather then myself. Clean and perfectly folded. They are very nice too! Especially Lan which is usually always there. Also, i have to mention that when i leave money in my pockets and they wash it, it is always returned to me. Very nice! Im sure most places would not return it. On vacation and I had to get a BIG bag of clothes done, ~21 lbs! I took them in around 10am, and they had them washed and folded in a convenient plastic bag by 4pm that same day. Wow! They needed until 12pm the next day for the dry cleaning of two additional shirts. Cost was a dollar per pound, much better than my hotel. Lan's got me out of a jam! Friendly, fast, and cheap! I've been coming to Lan's Laundry for all my wardrobe needs for almost 7 years now. I used to live a few buildings from Lan's when I was in the North End so it was extremely convenient. They closed at 9, which is great cause I don't get home from work til at least 8pm most nights. Their pricing is better than most local cleaners and quality is always on point. The family that owns this place are some of the nicest people you'll ever come across. Broke my leg in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago and the husband picks up my laundry and drop it off for me after he closes up the shop at night. He helped me out for almost 6 weeks! Wrote this review only after I moved to Scituate a few months ago and was fed up with Dependable Cleaners, they're the only one in Scituate. Gave Dependable a brand new shirt to dryclean and it came back with a tag saying they tried to remove the stains a few times but couldn't! What stains? This is a brand new shirt with no stains, just creases since it was folded at the shop. They didnt even reimburse me for the ruined shirt, ridiculous! No more Undependable Cleaners for me. My wife takes our drycleaning to Lan's every couple of weeks after that incident, even though it's a 35 minute drive. Lan, the nice lady that's usually there during the day, felt bad for my wife having to drive that far with a 4 year old so she had her son come by the house every other week to pick up and drop off. I knew these folks were good when I lived in the North End, but now I would vote them as the best business around. Every cleaners great until something unfortunate happens, that's when you can tell who the real great business is. On a side note, these folks will give you all the money that you accidentally left in your pockets back to you! Try leaving a few bucks in your pocket with your current cleaners and see what happens. Ok so I gave this place THREE chances to get it right....and they won't be getting a 4th. I used them for wash/dry/fold 3 times - clothes came back clean but not bright and fresh and I'm pretty sure they washed my whites & darks together because all my whites/light colors now are 'dingy' looking. I could understand if they mentioned that you have to request to have them washed separately, but it's not noted anywhere and they certainly don't tell you. But seriously, what self-respecting cleaner washes whites & colors together?? My grandmother would have a fit lol. Anyway, definitely NOT impressed with wash/dry/fold. So as for dry cleaning, I've brought things here 2x, the 1st was a stark white CK suit jacket (this was on my 1st visit or I never would've dropped it off!) so when I got the jacket back it looked like it hadn't been cleaned...I mean AT ALL. There weren't any noticeable marks when I turned it in so no way to be sure but really if I had to bet.... So then I needed to have my bf's suit cleaned for a wedding, and we were under the gun and the place is right on my way to work so I thought, F it, its a black suit it'll be fine..... Wrong again! Thank you for playing! When I picked up his suit, again it didn't seem to have been washed AND it wasn't ironed. I'm not shitting you, BLATANTLY wrinkled! I wish you could post pics with reviews because I'd put some up. Bottom line, if you read this post and still go there it's your own fault. I've been the guinea pig and I can assure you there MUST be a better place in the NE! I'm going to try Fleet next..... read more
