Pristine waterfront location overlooking beautiful Camden harbor- of course it's a tourist place. But if I were a local, I'd also eat here. From the friendly service, to the scrumptious fresh food, to the wonderful ambiance this turned out to be really nice. You will experience the harbor and the wonderful display of sailboats from any of the outside tables. My mussels were the best I've ever had. They were huge and fresh and came in a savory broth with fresh sourdough bread for dipping. Listed as an appetizer this was all I needed with a glass of white wine. The crab-cakes were all crab and delicious. Portions were generous and the pricing was reasonable. Yes there are some higher end places in the area worth checking out but the coast of central Maine is first and foremost about fresh seafood and this place has it with a spectacular view. read more

First, just know they don't take reservations. Second, while not a gourmet experience you will remember for a lifetime, the Waterfront is exactly what purports to be! Food: - Fried Clams we're done perfectly and arrived at the table just out of the fryer - Lobster Roll was more generous here and priced lower than some takeout places - Steamed Lobster - perfect - NY Strip - ordered medium rare and served a bit more cooked than medium but still flavorful and juicy - Side salads - way better than expected Drinks - made properly (and strong). Try the old fashioned Service - a well trained staff happy to be working there. What a pleasure!!! We are at the Waterfront twice during our stay. Both times we experienced great service. They don't take reservations, expect a wait and it may be a few minutes longer than they say. You can get a cocktail or a glass of wine while you wait. Enjoy! read more

Great location on the waterfront with inside and outside seating. We were a large party and arrived an hour early, they were still able to accommodate us. See ice is quick and friendly. Food came fairly quickly and was delicious. Everyone in our party loved their food which ranged from burgers to fish to lobster. Parking area is tiny, and street parking is hard to find especially in tourist season. read more

The atmosphere on the patio... overlooking the marina? Delightful. The food? Atrocious. I couldn't believe how bad everything was that we ate. The burgers were disgusting. The haddock tacos and fried haddock sandwiches were so bad. read more

The crab cakes were so delicious! The salmon burger was also great. Nice seating outdoors. Spot to park strollers.

This place is great for ambiance and location. It feels very cozy (working woodstove in the alcove near the bar) in winter and has a great view of the water. For food and service, it's typical seafood tourist fare. We had the mussels as an appetizer and the mussels were local but they were huge. I find that any large shellfish doesn't have any flavor and this was the case. The broth was good when dipped by bread but wasn't remarkable. I got the crab, bacon and avocado sandwich. Again, not much flavor, even with bacon! I got the three bean salad as a side and loved how many kinds of beans were in it. Service was slow (it was busy) and when the mussels came out, the bowl that was perched on top for the shells was very hot (too hot to touch) making it obvious that the dish had sat under the heat lamp. They have a limited parking lot but it's amazing they have something considering it's location! read more

Amazing. The atmosphere, the food, the service- A+++. Came to Camden for my 50th birthday and had a super disappointing experience at the Hartstone inn but it was redeemed at the waterfront. The food was amazing but even more importantly the service was 12/10. Do not miss this place!! read more

It gets two stars for location.. we got there early before they opened waited to be seated. Our order was taken waitress was pleasant enough. We didn't get our food for one hour ..we had to ask. She claimed it was the food we order ( mine was a lobster roll) .the rest of the table was crab cakes , steak and chicken. When I did get my lobster roll it's was probably the worst one I ever had . Way to much mayo and lobster tastes either overcooked or old .When I told the waitress because I wouldn't finish it ..she was snappy with its very fresh here ..I said maybe it is but this one isn't .They didn't take it off the bill and no manager didn't come over . read more

This spot is always fun to watch the harbor and all the boat activity. We were lucky to get a table right on the edge outside. We were a party of two and ordered the mussels and a wedge salad. Both were delicious, but I highly recommend the muscles they are so soft and juicy sweet/ tender! Just enough garlic and spices to dip your bread in and enjoy to the end Service was Attentive, and we definitely will go back to enjoy! read more

Ordered the pear Bellini which was excellent with extra dry Prosecco. Crab and artichoke fondue was a good starter with bread, carrots and celery. Lots of cheesy goodness! For entree I had the blackened haddock tacos which came with fries and coleslaw. The fish was very tender and seasoned well. We had a table next to the window that overlooked the pier. Great dinner and great service! read more

Probably the worse lobster stew I've ever had! More like cheese soup with lobster. Too salty also. My wife had the halibut which was very good ...she also had a cup of clam chowder which was OK read more

Waterfront has an excellent patio, which indeed was the star of the show. Food was decent, best dish was the fried shrimp..which indeed isn't saying alot, but hey the dish was great. Service was great, and waitress took good care of us. read more

This place has the best view of the water, especially if you get a table outside. They don't take reservations, you need to give your name and wait. If you come after 5 in the summer you will have to wait for a while. We didn't get a table outside which was a bit disappointing, I wanted to eat and enjoy the view. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. Food is ok but not amazing. The halibut was good, the mussels were good, and so was the salmon. The crab roll was not great at all.. overall ok place but don't expect amazing food. read more

Beautiful restaurant. Did not eat there. The host would not "seat us" without our entire party present. We were there at 4pm on a Saturday. The place was half empty. Staff was unfriendly and rude. They wouldn't even let us sit outside and have drinks. So we left and went to Peter Otts. I suggest you do the same. read more

This place looks lovely, and is located on the harbor in a summer tourist town. So my expectations were low. I was referred by a local, and very glad I was. The food was amazing. Maybe we hit it at a good time? It was about 1230/1 PM on a Wednesday I believe. We sat near the water and I enjoyed the best burger I have ever had. It involved barbecue sauce and bacon as well. Even the fries were good. my companion had a lunch size portion of fish and chips, which was perfect. It was light and she also commented that the fries were good. And, three bean salad, also fantastic. And the staff were truly good too! How can this be? In a tourist town, no less! Despite being from Portland, I'm not big on pretention. This place fit the bill in every way! read more

I opted for the clam chowder over the lobster stew although my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised and the two ladies working at the front when I ordered were a pleasant enough that I'll leave a nice review as a thanks for their service! read more

If you've arrived in Camden looking for that certain "lobster roll in Maine" experience, Waterfront is your spot. I'm sure the food is as good as other "best of" restaurants, but this place hits all the right notes on ambience. Umbrellas with the Red Sox/Sam Adams logos, the best Maine beers on tap, sweet views into the picturesque harbor, a cozy indoor area to complement the beautiful deck. The New England clam chowder was a hit; I loved my tuna BLT; didn't even have the lobster roll, but the one I saw at my table made my mouth water. Stop thinking about it and go for it!! read more

Waterfront was great for some cocktails! If you want to be seated on the deck you'll normally have to out your name in with the waiter/waitress or make reservations. If you have a small party you can see if there are seats at the bar. Very good cocktails and the inside remind me of being inside a boat with all the handcrafted woodwork. Such a neat place! Definitely recommend it! read more

What a great spot. Went last night, about 6:30 so it was dark and we couldn't see the view, but the restaurant was very nice inside and well decorated. Our meals were great, haddock, salad, and chowder. Server was great and we'd absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. read more

Outstanding fish and chips in a scenic setting overlooking the harbor. Our server, Mara was truly delightful with a warm attitude and prompt service. My partner is very fussy about her fish and chips coming from NZ where it is prepared English style in a crispy beer batter, and she was not disappointed. We will definitely return for another meal. Large servings will satisfy everyone. read more

Rude, entitled. Stopped by to inquire on availability and told to come back in an hour and a half for another hour wait. Skip it and hit one of the breweries instead and you'll have better food, more fun, at a much more reasonable price. read more

Waterfront, Camden 48 Bayview street. Love love love the location, the food , the waitresses, would definitely return; however, the manager "Ellie", was unfriendly and totally overwhelmed. We were waiting for our table and sat in the " waiting area ", when we asked Ellie how we could order a drink, she snipped, you're in the waiting area, the cocktail area is over there. My husband just had surgery and is currently walking with one of those hospital canes, clearing not moving too well, I felt enraged, and decided to post this . Need I say more? read more

Hostess very rude. After 2 they close the main room so no decent water views even though they have a. Large room empty. We left without ordering. Too many nicer places without the attitude read more

Everyone in Camden recommends this place, but it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The young host was friendly and the ambience and lighting in the dining room by the water was good. Aside from that, there was an older gentleman helping host who was rude. The waitress was too busy, I think, because we barely got waited on. The food took forever, and, even though it looked appetizing, it was not appetizing at all. I am not a picky eater, but bad seafood is about the worst. I guess we just had bad luck. read more

Excellent food and service! The lazy lobster was awesome as well as the phyllo crusted brie. The beef dip was fantastic and so was the clam chowder. We hope to be back soon. read more

The lobster bisque speaks for itself. I dream of it and it was LOADED with lobster and had the best sherry cream broth I've ever had.

Excellent service and delicious food! My friend and I were on a weekend trip to see fall leaves in Maine when we stopped by here for dinner. Around 7:30pm on a Sunday we were told there was a 40-45 minute wait for a table for 2, but the wait ended up being more around 30 minutes. Although the restaurant was super busy, the staff was very friendly to everyone including those of us who had just arrived. My friend and I went full-on lobster mode since we heard that Maine is known for good lobster. We split a lobster stew that was probably one of the best soups we've ever had the honor of tasting -- creamy and milky, not too thick or salty, generous portion of lobster meat inside. We both wish we got the larger size instead of the small size! I had the lobster risotto which also had generous portions of lobster meat. My friend seemed to enjoy her lazy lobster as well. It felt like a lot of food, yet we didn't feel uncomfortably bloated afterward, only super satisfied! So I suspect the food is made with quality ingredients and not too greasy. The food is a bit pricey, but that's to be expected from three lobster dishes and a good location by the water. They were not stingy about lobster meat at all we had no complaints about the price. Service was excellent throughout our dinner. Our waitress came by regularly to refill our waters and ask how things were going. She also calmly took a nice photo for us despite how busy the restaurant was. Food didn't take too long to come out. Again, excellent service and delicious food, well worth the wait and the money for a positive dining experience! read more

Classic waterfront location with a solid menu. Crab cakes are mom's favorite. Friendly service.

The water front location is the reason to go here. Great views and covered outdoor deck. Clam chowder and oysters were great. The lobster salad was meh. Lettuce was cut in large difficult to eat pieces and the veggies were not super fresh or flavorful. Would not recommend that salad. For the price, it was robbery. Looked pretty but that was it. read more

This was an okay stop in Camden on our way to Islesboro. The view was stunning, and worth a stop to grab some photos of the water. The food was typical for a touristy town - it felt pretty pricey for what you were getting. The food was good - lobster roll was really fresh and tasty, but it was more expensive than I was expecting in a town that get's lobster in their backyard. The service was incredibly slow, we ordered drinks immediately upon sitting and it took close to 20 minutes to receive them. Waters went without being refilled for too long, it just felt like we spent a lot of the time looking around for answers on where everything was. That being said, the wait staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I searched through Yelp and after many disappointments of "Closed until May" found this gem! Beautiful interior, attentive and friendly staff. We were half an hour early for our reservation and they were able to seat us. We were too hungry to think of pictures! The food was very nicely plated and all delicious! I had Fish & Chips with au gratin potatoes instead of fries. The haddock was fresh, sweet, moist and crispy without being greasy. Best I have had in quite some time! The cole slaw was different than traditional with peppers, I was glad the red onion was in large pieces so I could remove most of it (a little goes a long way). My husband had the Herb Seared Salmon with Butternut Squash special. It looked very pretty snd he loved it. We shared a Profiterole for dessert, it was excellent! We can't wait to go back in warm weather to be on the deck! read more

Really enjoyed lunch here! Great outdoor deck right on the marina so you can watch the boats go by as you drink and dine. Friendly and attentive service. Delicious food. If you're near Camden and not eating here, what are you doing??? Delicious food, great service, awesome ambience. Our crew got the crab cakes, fish tacos, haddock, and scallops as entrees. I have been wanting to eat at the Waterfront Restaurant in Camden for a few years. We did tonight. What a disappointment. Although we had a great table overlooking the harbor, the food was terrible. The scallops were under cooked and watery. The lobster chowder was huge but cold. The Brie cheese on a blueberry bread which tastes more like a muffin. Our waiter started off good but then forgot we were there. We though he had left for the night. Don't waste your money. read more

Wow. What rude and ignorant people who work here. Denied us to come into the restaurant bc they claim to "know what a service animal looks like". I have all of my ADA requirements met and they threatened to call the police. Sorry to have experienced this because we are traveling the country and never have had an issue like this in all the places we've been. They blatantly discriminated against me and kicked us out.
