*Response to Scott's posting: Well I guess by "trouble" he meant that I was asking him specific questions that other plumbing contractors were bringing up regarding what the law requires when installing a water heater. For example a device that is required by law to filter out impurities in the natural gas supply that cause a water heater to develop problems and fail earlier than normal. Let's just say that his responses were not adequate to assure me that I wouldn't have problems in the future with his work performance. I again personally would not recommend him. Scott is arrogant IMO. Gave me a good quote but then couldn't get the unit he pitched and didn't want to install it per code. Do HWHs ever NOT break during the holidays? 41yr old Solahart part finally broke that I couldn't replace. Got a new HWH 12/30 and requested Yelp install services that afternoon. Today I needed to get a new water heater. It started to leak. Scott's response was so fast. He was nice and polite. He gave me the best deal. I checked with 3 other companies and I'm so glad I picked him. He also was the only one to suggest a certain type of brand name, water heater because we have a water softener. He told me about the coils rusting faster inside of the water heater with salt water softeners. It was still the same price. He just wanted to make sure he got a certain brand because the "state" brand was great for water softeners. He was very professional, the job was done quick and efficient. We heard about Water Heaters Plus through Angi, and Scott called me. He gave me a good quote and told me exactly what he would do and what he would do the job for without seeing it first. I called him back after getting another quote, and he was definitely better priced and had a 4.9 rating on Angi, so I felt comfortable going with him. He didn't know it, but another bigger company called him to check him out while they had me on speakerphone, and he even said I should probably go with him because of the value. I called Scott on Saturday, and he had it installed a few hours later. He did the job to my satisfaction, and he did over 200 last year, mostly by himself. He had a long drive too. Every time I called, he answered, and he was able to answer all of my questions including maintenance on the new water heater which was most important. The new RUUD water heater was manufactured this month, so the inventory isn't stale by any means, and he didn't give me a cheap unit. The business is definitely legitimate, so if you want to support a small business, and you don't want to take any chances, this is who I'd recommend. read more

I would never use this company again! He installed a Lochinvar water heater at my wife's house and it stopped working after ten months. When he was contacted by her, he asked my wife to troubleshoot the problem and even asked me to check the ohms someplace on the unit. He said his son was going to show up the next day after I talked to him then later texted my wife that he wasn't going to show up and that she needed to look up the number for the company and have them fix it under warranty. This back and forth took three days. She had no hot water during this time. He apparently has no relation with the manufacturers for the units he installs and said he was interested to see how they handled the warranty. He said his policy is like buying a fridge, once it's installed you have to go thru the manufacturer. I don't know where he buys refrigerators but Home Depot, Costco and Spencer's will follow up with the manufacturer and the install is usually free or of minimal cost. FYI: Home Depot warranties 3 years labor Water Heater. ATS Plumbing and Electric came out and fixed the problem the day after I contacted them. Five Stars for ATS Plumbing! Water Heater Plus may save you a couple hundred but is worthless after the install and is probably not installing a great water heater. read more

This company installed a new water heater, claiming the work would take 5 hrs. It took 2. I offered $1,200 instead of the $1,250 initially quoted, and this amount, in cash, was accepted. When I called to explain the water heater wasn't operating properly, I was told by the owner that I had "gypped" him out of $50 and that "You're on your own.". Whereupon he hung up and refused to answer my attempts to reconnect. I will be filing a complaint with the Arizona Board of Contractors! read more

I wish I could give zero Stars. Upon initial contact, Scott was great to deal with. We discussed over the phone the repair I required and agreed upon a price. The next day, Scott sent his son out to complete the work. Within the minutes of his arrival he proceeded to drag a broken dolly cart across my newly epoxy finished garage floor, Leaving a 15 foot scrape. When questioned about the damage to my floor his response was, "I'm not responsible for that and I am not fixing it". I requested the work be halted until his equipment could either be repaired or replaced. After discussion with Scott about the damage to my floor and the possibility of continuing the job, Scott indicated he would not be willing to continue. I guess he doesn't feel responsible for their actions? At the end of the day, I am left with the job incomplete, and a damaged garage floor. Just days before Christmas I noticed our 10 year old water heater was leaking. It was in a seldom visited corner of a large garage and a very slow leak, so I don't even know when it started. But I wanted to fix it ASAP. I researched enough to know I needed a new heater and called and got quotes from numerous companies, most of which could sell and install. Ultimately, I researched and bought a Rheem gas water heater from Home Depot and had Water Heaters Plus install it the very next day. They even met me at Home Depot to transport the water heater to my home for less than Home Depot would charge for delivery. Scott was early for his appt. The water heater was replaced in 1.5 hours. I felt that Scott didn't follow through with some aspects of the install. He did not install a leak pan under the heater and did not install the brand of heater we had discussed. Also Scott would not reinstall the electrical power on/off switch which had been on the old heater as i requested. Scott said he didn't think it was necessary. I had used it as a comvenient power disconnect rather than having to kill the main breakers outside the house. All in all Scott worked quickly and cleaned up fairly well after the installation. Be aware that you need everything in writing before Scott starts any work. read more

It was random luck that I found him but I am happy I did. He also coached me on how to do maintenance on my new unit to increase the longevity of it.
