Went today for the first time and got a 90 minute Wat signature massage with Ratchanee. She was very good. Asked how much pressure I preferred, worked the areas I had indicated (shoulders, back and calves) and completed the full body massage in the 90 minutes. I came out feeling so relaxed. I would definitely recommend it. The ambiance of the spa is great and the room's too. There was a small water fountain so you listen to the sound of water and relaxing music during the massage. The only thing I would improve was that towards the end, another client arrived and had a loud voice so heard him talking as he walked to his room through the the hall outside the door and then heard him coughing. It had been perfectly quiet up until that point. I went on a Tuesday morning, so not sure what the activity would be on a weekend or later in the day. I would return to Wat Massage. While they book up, they usually have availability and their automated system is convenient in that it allows you to see availability and set reminders. My wife has come here for pre-natal massages and they were able to adapt, help her get comfortable, and relax. We also came for a couples massage and they offered a nice quiet room with light, relaxing music playing. One possible drawback is that it is an older building and while they have massage rooms on the first and second floors, you may have to climb stairs up to the third floor. It was the best X'mas gift( 10 times certificate) from my partner. From the minute I walk in the door, I feel transported to a very peaceful place away from the stress of everyday life. The decor is really zen, the place is very clean, and the music sets the right tone for relaxing. They think of every detail to make it a great experience. There is a little waterfall in the room to help you relax. In winter, the massage table is heated. The best part is the combination of techniques they use for the Wat Signatures massage. It is some Swedish, some pressure point release, and other techniques. I've seen many of their therapists and they are all quite good at what they do. Came here for 90-minute​ couple massages and left feeling brand new! My masseuse was Sergey and he gave me one of the best massages of my life. I like strong pressure and his was one of the few massages where I was satisfied with the level of pressure from the beginning to the end. There was no waning of pressure or focus after the first hour - he was present and committed to getting the knots out of my shoulders until the very end. I really​ felt like I got my money's​ worth. Wat Massage offers a variety of massage types (Thai, Swedish, Deep Tissue) for reasonable prices. A 90-min massage costs $125pp (you would be hard-pressed​ to find that price anywhere else in the city). The atmosphere is dark, peaceful, and minimalistic with little bits of Indonesian flair, evoking memories of my many massages in Bali. Space is tight in the waiting room; we weren't able to sit down and enjoy our cup of tea after our massages because other people were waiting (although this can't really be helped). My only suggestion would be to have music playing in the lobby and turn up the music in the massage room itself - this would've helped create a more relaxing environment and personally allowed me to relax more during my massage. My wife and I had a wonderful couples massage at Wat the other day. We had never been before, but it seemed worth checking out. The atmosphere is a welcoming departure from the hustle of DC outside. We were taken up the row house stairs to our room, which all the interior of this Wat parlor is decked out in Thai art and sculptures with warm lighting which sets the tone just right. Our massage therapists asked us about our level of pressure for our swedish / deep tissue massage and they followed our preference to the letter. Nice calming water-flow and nature music with soft pan-flute really relaxed us, while the other oils and aromatics really get you in a carefree state. I just had the most heavenly massage here over the weekend. My appointment for a 60 min massage was at 10:30 but due to laziness and issues with Metro, I was 15 minutes late. I had fully accepted to lose those 15 minutes and just proceed with a 45 min massage since it was my own fault that I was late. The staff were extremely kind though and ended up giving me the full hour anyway. The massage itself was great and really relaxing. The room also smelled very good. I asked for medium pressure but then ended up asking for more and at some points, the pressure was really intense, but I wanted to push through it because I was really stiff and tense. The therapist kept checking in with me to make sure that I was okay, but she wasn't chatty, which was great because I came there to relax, not talk. The space is pretty small, located in a renovated row house, but it very nice, serene and zen-like. There are buddhas and water features everywhere, along with incense burning throughout. I believe there are about two floors of rooms. When I checked in, I was immediately offered water and tea, which was much appreciated. The best part about this place is that a 60 min massage is only $90, whereas most places in the area charge over $100. It's been a rough pandemic, right? After some stressful weeks at work and difficulty sleeping, I decided to spontaneously book a massage this weekend for the first time in 2 years. Based off of Yelp, timing, location, and availability, I found Wat Massage and booked an hour of the Wat Signature Massage (Combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue) for $105. Booking was fast, easy, and I was able to easily find parking on Wyoming (I recommend getting there 20 mins in advance just in case). The building itself is easy to find, a little bit like a maze once inside, but very quiet and peaceful. As for my massage, I worked with Ms. Mikela Moore (MT#2498), and she was INCREDIBLE! She wore a mask without my even having to ask, and she made me feel very comfortable even though I was a tad nervous about my first massage during covid. Her pressure was spot on (get it?!) with the deep pressure I needed, and her communication was great. She found my trigger points without me even needing to say anything - she's that good! Thanks Mikela!!!!! Checking out was so easy - added the tip to my card and they even provided me with a detailed receipt so I can see if my FSA will reimburse me. Nyreshia fixed a problem I had for months!!! I'm a dance coach and also work a lot on the computer. I had this knot in my upper shoulder/neck for months and I tried everything under the sun. Jackson has sincerely been a blessing to my body. As someone with scoliosis and a herniated disc, my back pain has been significant since my teens. After ONE appointment with Jackson, I felt better than I've felt in years. He is very knowledgeable about the body and employs unorthodox methods that aren't based in Western culture. Sitting at a desk all week, as well as normal life stress, keeps my shoulders hunched around my ears, causing ALOT of stiffness and discomfort in my back and neck.
