On the verge of tears from gratitude for Galen and how much he has literally SAVED me these last few years I've been coming to WASP automotive. After getting my oil changed from a different shop (which he had advised me against more than once) my CRV began leaking oil steadily. He determined the other shop over stripped the threads to my oil pan by over tightening, causing the leak. He fixed their mistake, bypassing having to purchase a new oil pan, and had me back on the road without breaking my budget. I cannot express my appreciation enough for the quality of work Galen does and how much I trust him with my vehicle. I've learned my lesson and will be using WASP exclusively. Thank you, G!

If you didnt bring your laptop or tablet to use with their complimentary free wifi, they have two computers you can use.

We just moved to the area and I am so glad that we ended up doing a little more research and found this place. Pete was amazing to work with and was very accommodating. I originally brought my 2001 Honda CRV to the local dealership to be looked at for a possible leak. They told me that I would need a new radiator and also recommended a bunch of other things totaling a price tag of over $3000. I figured a lot of it was bogus recommendations, seeing as they suggested getting work done, that I had just had done a month ago in Ohio. Needless to say, I brought it to Wasp Auto, they were kind enough to squeeze me in for an evaluation and only recommended the new radiator, without any of the other superfluous services the wallet gauging dealership recommended. Great work, friendly service. Another plus is a big waiting room with free wifi and two newer iMacs to use if you don't bring your laptop or tablet.

I love this place. I used to take my car to brand name oil change, quick stop sort of places and always left with a bad taste in my mouth. Either they would try to talk me into changing out a filter that didn't need it or they would charge me for repairs I didn't approve. Wasp doesn't do any of that! I take my Subaru to see Pablo - he's a great guy! But they work on all Japanese model cars, and I believe there's a specialist for each one. Pete, who runs the place, is always trying to help out. As soon as my contract with the tire place runs out, I'm going to buy my tires from them too! They have a convenient waiting room, with wi-fi Internet and 2 computers. They have free soda and coffee, and lots of magazines to read. If you need to drop your car off and get to work, they'll take you! I work in Hillsborough and they've driven me out there more than once! All of that is complimentary when you bring your car in for anything! What I love most about this place though is how upfront and honest they are about your car. They'll explain things so that they make sense (even to a girl who knows nothing about what's under the hood) and they never try and pressure you into something you don't need! Pablo is great about reminding me about major upcoming services on my car and when they do roll around, I get put on a payment plan - because I need my car running, even if I don't have the cash to pay for it at the time. I really, really can't say too much about this place. These are great guys. Keep it local and bring your Japanese car to Wasp. They're a little difficult to find, but if you go to the intersection of 54/55 and you know where the Dog House is...they're right behind it. It's worth the drive from anywhere in RTP!

It was a busy day so I was in there for about 2 hours. From what I was told in my first visit, they operate on a first come first served basis. The wait wasn't an issue for me because it was semi expected. Although it's an auto shop, dirt & grease spots are expected; It's in need of a gooooood deep clean in the waiting area. The Staff seem kind. I didn't think to check my wipers before I left the lot but the next day when I did, it was still empty. That made me think if they did not top off the fluids did they do the oil change. I lifted the hood and to my surprise the coolant hose was not inside the reservoir. The oil had been changed thankfully but they were moving too fast. This could have went so far left if I did not lift the hood up in time! I surely don't want or need any issues with a car I've had only for a year.

Within one week, I had to go to the shop four separate times due to poor communication and constant changes. On my first visit, I was told over the phone I would need to drive the car for a week after a dye test. When I arrived, I was told something completely different--that I needed to bring it back within a few days. After following their instructions and returning the car, they completed the evaluation and got the work approved. I then tried to schedule a time that worked with my job and confirmed a Wednesday drop-off. However, I was pressured multiple times to bring the car in on Saturday instead. At one point, I was even told I "wasn't supposed to drive off" with my car--only to then be told they couldn't actually do the work that day. Eventually, I agreed to Saturday just to move things forward. I dropped my car off at 9am on Saturday and was told it would take 3-4 hours and that my car was next in line. After sitting there for about 6 hours untouched, my mother received a call (not even me) saying the work could not be completed and I would need to come back again on Wednesday. When I returned Wednesday, the experience got even worse. The staff was noticeably disrespectful, and any sense of customer service that may have existed before was gone. I was again told the work would take 3-4 hours after dropping it off at 9am. By 4pm, I hadn't heard anything, so I called--only to be told they had been trying to reach me. When I asked them to confirm the phone number, it had been written down incorrectly. They also had my name recorded wrong and continued using my middle name. What's most frustrating is that they somehow managed to call my mother previously, yet claimed they didn't have another number on file. This entire process was disorganized, unprofessional, and disrespectful of my time. I would not recommend this shop to anyone and will not be returning.

Reasonable price, great owner, and nice location…read more Came in for an oil change and to track down the cause of a recurring stall issue with my Volkswagen Tiguan. The mechanic listened, asked good follow-up questions, made sure he understood the problem before drawing any conclusions, and then diagnosed it cleanly. The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. That said, I am a big fan of this establishment and will be using them for repairs in the future (apparently sooner than I want :) Bonus: he pointed me to a wonderful Indian place across the street, Biryani, which I'd highly recommend if you have time to kill while your car is being worked on.

The wonderful Lady at the counter, Alicia, was very nice and accommodating. I went in to get my tire serviced because I had a slow leak the night before. I used fix a flat to get home from work but ,the gentleman who looked at my tire, discovered that the fix a flat had literally plugged the hole from inside (it tends to do that sometimes but I had to make sure). He gave me a complementary air pressure check for all four tires and charged me nothing for his service which I thought was very, very nice because he did put in a lot of effort to find any possible leaks and pressurize my tires. I thoroughly recommend this business because of the hospitality, the cleanliness, the obvious improvements and the quality of service.

I know every shop handles things differently, but I know this number too well. So, I drove 30 miles to my favorite country car place and was told my brakes had 15-20k miles left on them(I drive about 6k/yr). That's three oil changes, not an "urgent action item". My shop told me one of the "dirty" fluids was clean without anything in it or being burnt. One other fluid needed changed. So my $3000 bill is looking to be $1100 with all that and some other things. This is a great shop for convenience, but I would suggest a second opinion if they give you a fishy report. Again, each shop is different. One might say " you need to fix one so replace all four" or sometimes a wire and some careful fixing can save you a $300 part replacement. Most of the staff was smoking, I did see a few packs of cigarettes around. I came in with a flat tire, trying to get it patched. I also had a damaged stud after it broke off the wheel while still inside the lug nut, thanks to roadside assistance. I even brought over an extra lug nut and stud from an auto parts store that was recommended to me. But the staff said they couldn't use those. So they had to use their supplier and it took over an hour to get the part. They actually had to go out to get the right parts, which was good of them to do. They also replaced my air cabin and filter I didn't come in asking for them to be fixed, but at least they made me aware of it and I appreciated that. What frustrated me is the tire was patachable and they didn't do it. They simply removed what was left of the stud and them put on the new parts with my spare still on the car. So they then told me to go down the street to Firestone to try to get the tire patched. That turned into another 2 hours over there, but that's for another review. But the worst part is they charged me $145 in labor. And they couldn't even finish the job correctly. I could understand a small charge for the air filter. But $145 just for labor is insulting and inappropriate. My total bill was around $230. To total it up, an hour and 45 minutes is what I spent in that office, and for most of that time there was only one other customer. It's not as if they were backed up with a lot of Sunday afternoon jobs to do. I have had good experiences with other Jiffy Lube locations in the past. I will never visit this one ever again.
