Found this gem a few months ago! I get my fancy clothes dry cleaned and altered here. There prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. I tried a few other places in the area but they were more expensive and not as professional. I've had other places that told me my alterations would be done by a certain time but ended up being ready 3 days later than expected. I haven't had any issues like that here. read more

Incredible service, never had any issues with the dry cleaning or alterations after 2 years of going to them, and Rebecca and Michael are always super friendly and accommodating. I've also gone to them for alteration advice for my Burberry trench coat, wanting to shorten it, and they gave me a very honest overview of why it would be difficult, and might not look quite right if they made the adjustment. They were very forthcoming and honest with the expectations and under their advisement, I didn't modify the coat. I appreciate that expertise, instead of just saying 'yes', taking my money, but then leaving me with a coat that I wouldn't be happy with. I get the Platinum Service package, such a good deal! Very good quality of work, very efficient service, location and delivery option is extremely convenient. Despite the large amount of traffic they get they always seem to have the bandwidth to give you a personal touch more typical of a mom and pop joint. Michael in particular is very knowledgeable and never hesitates to offer his advice when it will help achieve better results. He is also committed to keeping his promises, staying late on more than one occasion to make sure I got my suit back in time for an important event or flight. VERY Impressed with Axess Cleaners. I have been using them for a while now and other than their quality, which to most ppl is key when choosing a dry cleaner, what I was most impressed with was their customer service level and ease of using their service. I definitely suggest being part of their so-called "VIP service" as it will get you additional discounts. On top of which, qualifies you for pick up and drop off service that makes the whole thing a lot easier and more convenient. All of their employees who I have met are extremely nice and helpful and knowledgeable, but as some of the other yelpers had mentioned, Michael [I believe the manager] is the guy to go to for anything special that requires attention and detail work. Some of the prices that they have at this place. Don't forget, with the VIP service they have, you get the same stuff even cheaper. Brought in two wedding gowns to be cleaned. One had not been cleaned since my wedding 35 years ago. The other had a big stain on the front from 18 months ago. They warned me that they didn't think they would be able to get the stains out on the dress but agreed to try it and not charge me anything if the stain did not come out. In the end they were able to remove the stain, did not damage the dress and it turned out beautifully! Prices were quite reasonable. The other dress which had not been cleaned since my wedding night over 30 years ago also turned out beautifully. Would highly recommend Axcess Cleaners for both price and quality. read more

Ok, get this. Going on a trip with just my wife and I and she has one particular dress that she wants to wear, we put it in Axxess during the week with a Saturday pick up. Saturday goes by, very busy day, and at 7pm we realize we have not picked up the dress! Huge bummer. I then realize that MIchael and I have exchanged texts in the past (Michael is the owner). I give him a call and he agrees to meet, no questions asked, Sunday morning. He lives quite far but doesn't hesitate. I just can get over this customer service! I offer a coffee, breakfast, gas money but he just won't have it. This is what I call going the extra mile. Prior to this experience our dealings with Axxess have always been superb. I absolutely love this place. There are endless Dry Cleaners in the area where I live and work, but I choose to go to Axess for few reasons that are quite important to me. Before I get into why I like these guys so much, I must say, YELP helped me a lot with finding these guy's as their location isn't the best. To be honest here, that's one thing that I had mentioned to the manager working at Axess that only if they had a better (more visible) location that they'd better with business. They are located in the back of the building with 650 Castro St, so it's quite frustrating as the address brings you to the front of the building and parking is limited here so then you have to wonder around with your clothes and find the store, before walking a mile (lol joking). This said, I still think its worth every penny and hassle. Plus, when you find them the first time, of course you'll be set thereafter. 1) They are well priced. I love their price model as I've used cheaper cleaners and received horrible service and quality and I've also used more expensive cleaners (a lot more expensive) and their service is like that of Axess if anything may be worse (specially when it comes to Customer service). 2) They offer pick up and drop off service. Although I don't use it much as I enjoy running my own errands, they are however willing to do so on that one rainy day that I just rather sit in front of the TV with a cup of tea in hand. So that's a plus and knowing its available to me, really is a good thing. 3) CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've mentioned this many times and doing so again. In this age and time, many service sectors offer good service and ok pricing. But to receive EXCELLENT service all around (the actual job and customer relation) is definitely rare. You're either paying a hefty price to get that amazing service, or if you're paying the norm, the service is JUST good enough.... And sometimes, JUST good enough won't work. 4) I specially like that Michael is always available. He's like my contact and to-go-to person when it comes to tasks I can't handle. I even called this dude once to help me with my relationship problems hahah. Ok that last part was a joke. But, yeah he's amazing and always available to answer questions or take over of a job that others may turn down. Overall, I am pretty sure I'll be with Axess Cleaners for a very LOOOONG time. Axess Cleaners lost my very expensive suit jacket (for me - we're not talking a $4000 suit here or anything), which was completely new and had been worn once for two days before giving it to them. After a month of calling them repeatedly, they finally agreed to reimburse me for the cost of the suit. I'm not willing to give them 5 stars because they did lose my suit jacket, but at least they finally compensated me for it. The pants seem to have been cleaned OK. read more

My husband and I have gone to Axess for almost a year now and generally have not had too many issues. They are generally reasonable in their turn around time. However, the last time we dropped off a suit after a wedding and accidentally left a photo booth souvenir in the suit jacket. At first they stapled the top of the photo to the hanger to keep them together and make sure they weren't lost, which wasn't an issue and didn't damage the actual photo portion. But, then they stapled the receipt for the dry cleaning three more times directly on to the photo significantly damaging the photos! When we let the lady know how upsetting this was she took the photos back and ripped out the staples further damaging the photo. Lesson learned to empty out the pockets, but also how could they be so careless with someone else's memories. After reading some other cleaners putting a 20$ in an envelop and returning it to their customer...we'll be trying another shop. read more

Sad to say goodbye... I've moved to Monterey a few weeks ago and will miss Axess! I used these guys for a couple of years, and highly recommend them. They do shirts, suits, leather jackets, even cleaned a persian rug for me. I used the prepaid VIP plan, where you pay $250 in advance. It's hassle free and you get a discounted rate on everything. If you are shy go ahead and pay regular prices for one service then next time go and upgrade to VIP when you see how well they do. I'm in my 60's and have used many cleaners over the years, and these guys are best I've done business with. I think they also do home delivery/pickup but I never used that as my office was nearby so I found it easy to just drop off and pick up when I was there. read more

Door-to-door deliveries free of charge and a reasonable price on mens shirts (~$1.60 when you pay for the platinum package) has kept me coming. I also want to give them a shout-out because I recently had a laundry mishap with 5 pairs of slacks, and discovered after drying them that they all had gum stuck to them. Faced with having to throw away $250 worth of business attire, I consulted Michael about the likelihood of them being able to clean the pants. He told me 50-50, and I decided to go for it since even if he could salvage a couple pair it would be worth it. Well, two days later, lo and behold, all five pants are spotless and I just avoided spending $200+ on new work slacks. Here is an example: My wife forgot to pick up a douvet that we really needed back for some weekend guests. She called and reached Michael who was headed home for the evening. I got a dress altered here and the work Axess's seamstress did is flawless. The dress needed to be taken up at the bottom about three inches and taken in just an inch or half or so at the waist - I was concerned about the hemming in particular because it's a chiffon dress, but it looks excellent, and the tapering at the waist is completely undetectable. Really, if it didn't fit so snugly I'd think they'd forgotten to alter the waist. I'm really pleased with the results. Service was good, too. read more

Why is it so hard to find a good cleaners?? I've taken several items to Axess over the last 6 months and EVERY time there's been a problem. Either my laundered shirts weren't pressed properly, or most recently problems with dry cleaned slacks. While Axess was able to get the original stains out, on one of the slacks there was a NEW stain! Also, the pressing was pretty poor, which I showed to the employee and she agreed. So, she sent it back for a re-do. I went to pick them up and they looked exactly the same, so I left them to be re-done again. I have no faith that they will be any better. But, at least through this re-do re-do process the employee has been friendly. Speaking of stains, when I originally pointed out the stains on the slacks, and asked the employee to put some tape on the area, so the cleaners would see it, she said they don't have any tape and that she'd make a note on the order, which she did. Every other cleaners I've ever been to has used tape to identify the stains, so this didn't instill confidence at all. The sports coat I just picked up was OK, but again, the pressing was not great and there were minor wrinkles in various places. Given that they can't seem to press anything properly, I didn't want a re-do on the coat given its value, since every time an item is cleaned it breaks down a little. In addition, you know that rule that says that a business has to charge the prices it has posted? Well, they don't seem to care about that. When I dropped off my sports coat I asked the employee to confirm the price (something I learned a long time ago), and she said $9.75. When I pointed to their big pricing board, where it showed $8.95, the employee said the prices had changed. I pointed out that a business can't charge more than its posted prices, and she said she'd mention it to the manager. To their credit, they ultimately charged me $8.95, but that's beside the point. Anyone who's in business should know this rule, so if they're going to change their prices they need to change their "posted" prices. One of the reasons I tried Axess was because they were "supposedly" environmentally friendly. When I asked the employee what that meant, all she could say was they were green-certified, but beyond that she had no idea. To be fair, she was a new employee, but anymore employees should be able to answer basic questions like this. Green-certified could mean the building itself, or the cleaning process, or both. That's what I wanted to understand, particularly the process, since I'd much prefer to not be subjecting myself to the traditional caustic chemicals that are used in dry cleaning...which I know, because I worked in a dry cleaners many years ago. I won't be using Axess again. The search for a decent cleaners continues... :-( ---------------- UPDATE (Oct 2016) After reading my review here, Michael (the manager, not owner) contacted me to discuss my situation. Over a few phone conversations we discussed my complaints and he made every effort to resolve them. Although the end result is that I have a pair of slacks with a NEW stain on them (that was introduced "during" the cleaning process) that Axess cannot get out, I have upgraded this review from 1 to 4 stars given Michael's sincere efforts to address my complaints. It is very rare these days for companies to make a genuine effort to make things right, so I give Michael high marks for his efforts. NOTE: because Axess uses some kind of more environmentally-friendly cleaning process, which I very much appreciate, Michael explained that their cleaning process does have its limitations and cannot get out all stains. He said that if I can find a cleaner that still uses "perc" they may very well be able to get the stain out. I asked Michael if he knew of such a cleaner in this area, but he was not able to point me to one. read more
