I've requested a quote through Costco to install a generator in November 2024 after we were hit with the bomb cyclone. It is now September 2025, and we still haven't finalized on the quote. In fact, they just stopped responding. Jordon was the person who came out to assess where the generator should be placed. He provided the quote to us after a week since the visit. We had to make adjustment to the placement of the generator due to HOA bylaws. I sent him the picture couple weeks after where he stopped responding. I follow up 3 months later, Erin responds to my email in beginning of August. She said she would send me the updated quote, but she was on her way to her vacation. I told her that it was okay for her to get back to me after her vacation, but now she stopped responding. This company may be reliable once you get the installation secured, but until then, it is very difficult to get a hold of someone. read more

My experience with Washington Generators was extremely disappointing. I hired them in June to diagnose a generator that wouldn't start. After three months, multiple visits, and over $750 spent on parts they told me to replace, the generator was still not fixed. Their technicians misdiagnosed the issue three different times (starter motor, control board, starter relay), none of which were actually the problem. Basic testing could have confirmed this before recommending I buy parts. I also had two same-day appointment cancellations, and my calls later went unanswered. I eventually sent a detailed refund request, but the company never responded. I had to dispute the charges through my bank -- Washington Generators tried to block the refund, but I ultimately won. In the end, I did get my refund, but not the $750 wasted on unnecessary parts or the time lost dealing with this company. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Washington Generators. read more

Had a stand-by generator installed. The estimator was knowledgeable, the office did a nice job scheduling as quickly as possible, and the installers were efficient. Pricing was higher than I thought justified, but to be fair, it was in line with other estimates (they all charge too much for the installation!). This company is good when it comes to installing a new generator or performing its maintenance - I have seen both done well. However, when it comes to repair, it doesn't really work out. To begin with, if the problem is already known, they would not quote the work until you pay for diagnosing the problem - even though you know the diagnosis already. They also do not diagnose correctly - I had an interior oil leak, and the maintenance guy who came for maintenance suggested the exterior gasket was leaking, even though the exterior was entirely clean. They also would not service generators that are not installed by them. read more

Recently, we scheduled for a technician to come out to diagnose a problem we were having with our Generac generator. He said it would be $250.00 to replace a faulty breaker. Two weeks later a electrician from WG came out to install the breaker, but it was misdiagnosed. It required a far more expensive part which was installed prior to informing us of the additional cost. We are without electricity very seldom and in the five years we had this generator we used it three times lasting each time less than an hour. Had we known the additional cost which was significant we would not have had it fixed. Talked with WG about how this was handled and they only apologized and would use this as a teaching tool with their people. Fine, but that is not the best way to handle a problem such as this. The electrician is nice. However, they did not tighten the gas pipe!! We have gas leakage for days which scared us!! The responsiveness is really really bad... with urgent thing such as gas leakage, it takes more than 1 day to reach out them and find a person to come and fix it. For god sake we haven't died yet... Also, the gas inspector did not come on scheduled time - twice - which further delay the generator back to working state. Again, it takes more than 1 day (and multiple phone calls) to get the right person to come --- reschedule --- come ... When I'm writing this review, the generator was installed a week ago but it's still not turned into work state yet. It's all raining and stormy last few days and lots of areas already power outage... Washington generator please, take your customer's request seriously, especially such emergencies. read more

Dec 29th to Feb 8th (41 days) In late December of 2022 I contacted Washington Generators to schedule an apt to have someone come onsite and provide an estimate to get a generator installed. I provided all of the information requested by Wa Generator by Dec 29th. In that information I mentioned I live in a manufactured home. Then WA generator scheduled an apt for a person to come onsite and provide an estimate on Feb 8th 2023. On the morning of 2/8 2023 I was contacted by WA Generator saying they don't install generators for manufactured homes. Also 2/8 was the earliest I could get an an onsite apt for the estimate. Therefore the delay is on them. I lost 41 days of my time when WA generator should have known they can't help me when I returned their questionnaire on 12/29. People were nice but they wasted 41 days of my time. read more

After trying several companies to service my generator, Washington Electric came out to inspect but actually did the service on same day.

This is a follow up rating. Previously I had given them a 1 star, I will not reiterate the problems, but Covid was raging, and these are not diesel generators, but more like gas given that they run on natural gas. Any how, Cory and Washington generators replaced my previous generator, a 11 kw Honeywell with a 10 kw Generac. the install went great and the new unit is quieter and works great. We are glad to have back up power since our power goes out at least 3 times a year for hours to days. read more

The whole crew was great and especially the electrician, Mitch, who I had the most opportunity to know. The crew did wear masks for COVID, although some merely had gators which are known to be ineffective. Washington Electric also does business as Washington Generators. They specialize in generator installation, and have a good relationship with at least Generac. A challenge were inspections for gas and electrical which were delayed in order to finish the project. This is largely out of control by the contractor, however communication about this to the contractor via telephone was problematic about getting a follow-up gas inspection from the county. Queries are frequently referred to an answering service and then no one responds to answer a question. So, I learned as recommended, that text messages work best especially directly to the owner, Eric. The installation was performed neatly and it looks to be a quality job. Only trouble was with two of the new Siemens arc-fault breakers in the new sub-panel that caused nuisance tripping. Eric responded nicely by replacing them at no additional cost and I've learned this to be a common problem. Overall, I've had a happy experience! read more

Their business model is to keep charging full trip charges at $210 a visit with nothing working. I am now at $1,000 in parts and trip fees with nothing working. We had a minor electrical problem that I as a DIY'er was unable to resolve. I contacted Washington Electric and they sent out a qualified, licensed electrician the next day. I directed him to the problem & had the issue resolved within 30min and was in/out of our home within 45min. The electrician was respectful of our concerns over the fake COVID 19 mayhem. This company is dishonest. I payed them $210 for the first hour of a service call, to repair my generator. After a 5 minute check they said we needed a new circuit board on the garage panel. I asked them if they would install the board when it came in. They said no, even though they were only there for ten minutes. I then asked for a service check on my generator since I had paid for an hour of service. They refused. I asked what was the part I needed to replace. They said call the office. The office said NO, we won't tell you what part you need, but we will replace it for another $1,018.00 After doing my own research, I ordered the part online for $350, and replaced it in five minutes. These guys are dishonest, overcharge, and will not complete the service you request. read more

We are in the process of selling our home and just had a home inspection done. We had to fix one thing which was an electrical issue. We wanted to get this fixed right away. It was Friday night about 7pm that we received the report and figured nobody would be open at this hour. So we looked on yelp and found Washington Electric. They had good ratings & feedback so we went to check out their website. We decided to go with them because on their website, they have a "book online instantly" feature and figured we would try it out. We got a confirmation that they will come Saturday morning at 8am. But the next morning, we got an email saying that there was a glitch in the system and won't be able to make it. But if something comes up, he will let us know, but most likely he can come on Monday. At around 1:00pm, we got a call from Eric and he said that he is available to come to our home in 30 minutes. AWESOME! He arrived and quickly fixed the problem. He is very nice and took the time to see us without taking a lunch break. =( We felt bad so we gave him some lunch money after he completed the job. He was happy. Let me start by saying the work done was top notch. Josh is a professional. He showed up on time, did skillful work to address my electrical needs (dedicated circuit, dimmer switches, and adding a new light on a porch), and did well to clean up afterwards to remove all the dust and other debris left behind from the work. However I must say I left the experience with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth when it come to cost and setting the right expectations. I was quoted a certain price the morning before work began, but when the bill came it was slightly higher. And couple that with a lack of clarity/misleading advertising on the website what services coupons could be applied to, I was denied a discount I thought I was entitled to based on where the coupon was placed on the website (in the dedicated circuit section). These misunderstandings could have been avoided by providing me a written estimate before the work began instead of leaving it to a verbal agreement where he said/she said comes into play and not placing vague coupons next to certain services of the site. Eric (the owner) and Josh (my technician) met me part of the way to address my concerns about the price misunderstandings, but because they didn't make 100% right, I walk away only partially satisfied customer. read more

Purchased and had installed by Washington Electric a 16 KW standby generator for our new house. Very professionally installed and - get this - power actually went out three days after install. Generator came on and took the load within 10 seconds and we were happy campers. The time between placing the order and installation was quite lengthy at over a month - but given it is winter (and a stormy one at that) I believe that their scheduling is probably the best that can be achieved for a company this size. All work performed to standards, neat, tidy and professional. Done when they said it would be done and for the price that Eric quoted. Eric showed up on time for his estimate appointment. His van with his company logo on it was clean. I received the estimate to add an additional outlet in the guest bathroom and the master bathroom a few days later. I found him very easy to work with. We scheduled the appointment. He came and did the work on time and within the estimate he had prepared. He came prepared with all the GFIs we had discussed. I noted that the holes he had to make for the new outlets were well inside the boundaries for the new switch plates or covers. The outlets and covers he brought matched both the color and the style of the others in the bathrooms. I was afraid that a gap might show or the colors would not match. He vacuumed up all the debris that he created. If I hadn't heard the vacuum, I wouldn't have known he was there. While up in the attic to run some wiring, he noted to me that I should get more insulation (and a possible tax credit). He said that it would be easy to rent a blower and loose fill insulation. That was an added bonus. How many service pros do I know who do that? Not many. He did mention that I might want to considered getting a whole house surge protector if I had a large number of delicate electronic items. I would use him again. read more

One of the worst companies in customer service. Did the install, severall issues. 1. never did full walk through. 2.They mentioned they will come and close the trench after inspection in 2 days. We called countless times to get trench which was a safety hazard closed aftee 3 weeks. 3. They made a big mistake and not connecting one of the critical rooms which we found out due to power outage. We identified in 2 weeks and i asked in final handoff the person mentioned there is warranty. The person Michelle was asking additional service charge. We finally got it scheduled for today after escalating to her manager. No one showed today at 730am. When we called a person is saying they rescheduled since there was no payment. We prepaid entire amount of around $11000 . 4. They didnt even get all paperwork organized for signatures and kept sending us docusign 4-5 times. They were asking us to sign a document stating everything was complete when the job wad not complete and the manager Michelle said she can only schedule appointment for correcting the mistake they made only if we sign the document that everything was completed satisfactorily which was unethical Unable to reach customer service multiple times. Quite a disorganized company and no sense of customer satisfaction or even respect at that point. We have wasted around 6-7 hours due to mistake this company made , not willing to take ownership of their mistake. I never write negative reviews but at a $11,000 price point their work is completely unacceptable. I would suggest to avoid this company and save yourself a lot of headache. I truly regret my decision in choosing this company. If they can't stand by their work within 3 weeks of installation i think all their guarantee and warranty is worth nothing . However when I called to schedule, I was told their priority is generator related work, and they only perform smoke and Carbon Monoxide detector work in their "off season". Just had a 22KW home generator installed today. Absolutely amazing service - professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Couldn't ask for anything more. On time, on budget, everything works as described. For our home in Texas with another installer, the installation for the same exact generator took 3 weeks. Washington Electric installed my standby Generac generator (running propane) in the spring of 2015. I also signed up for an annual maintenance with them. They did an excellent job in both the installation and annual services. No issue with the generator auto-starting up and running during quite a few power outages during past few years. The annual services were done thoroughly (even in pouring rain but under a canopy set up). As part of the services like oil change, spark plug and filter replacements, etc. the technician also spent time cleaning up the dirt, moss and debris inside and outside of the generator. I received a report on what was done after each annual service in my email. Great company.... In fact I like them so much that I recommended them to my neighbor who also had them installed a Generac. read more

We contacted Washington Electric through a "Deal of the Day" on Angie's List. Eric at Washington Electric was very responsive through Angie's List message system and other emails. We exchanged a rough description of the job, and he asked for photos, which we uploaded on Angie's List. The job was scheduled for one week later. Two electricians were here - they even called from the freeway saying that traffic was bad. They assessed the job, and offered to start right away, saying they would finish in 6 hours. However, they finished in ahead of time. In addition to installing the new circuit panel and did extensive grounding. They placed two 8' grounding rods outside the garage wall. The next day a City of Seattle electrical inspector was here, reviewed their work and quickly passed it with no reservations. We are very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family, or to use them again. We paid $395 for the Angie's List deal, knowing our job would require more work and additional cost. Washington Electric gave us a $500 credit toward the overall price. read more
