Then he came up with some options to address our issues of extremely high winter power bills and why we might be able to change this with some insulation in the crawl space UNDER the house where a great portion of our heat ducting is. What he said makes complete sense since our summertime AC usage does not cause our power bill to go through the stratosphere. Honest and on time! Actually, called because he could come a bit earlier and that was just perfect for us. He spent a lot of time investigating issues. Echo Energy appears to be a keeper.

They also replaced our water heater (15 year old dev quality) and fixed the water step down from the street. They are very professional and bonded. They also do extra stuff like take the old generator to a neighbor down the road when they put in the new one. Their permits line our fuse box and they installed a whole house surge protector while they were doing another job, so $50 my cost. And when I call to check, I've been told he's having issues or having a problem. Is there only one technician? I cannot believe. I get the same song-and-dance/ lie every year. Don't use this business, they will cause you hours of stress of not knowing and a waste of time off work as well.

He came to inspect and gave his expert and non-biased opinion without trying to sell me any kind of repairs or services which I appreciated. A lot of times guys will come inspect and then tell you they can also repair things which to me is a conflict of interest. None of that here with From The Ground up. He even took the time to take a look at some issues in the house that were not part of the crawl and attic inspection at no extra charge. That is something you don't get a lot these days. It was pretty clear he was about taking care of the customer. And as for the crawl and attic, he went all the way in and didn't just look from the entry point. Very important factor if you want an accurate inspection in these tough to get into areas. All in all I will definitely be using From The Ground Up for any of my home inspection needs. I obtained estimates from three different companies to perform a couple of insulation jobs that…read morerequired accessing some very tight areas to perform the work. This included improving the insulation around a skylight well located in the narrow space at the the edge of our attic. Rory provided a competitive price quote with some additional work such as properly terminating our kitchen range hood duct through the roof, replacing a cheesy flexible dryer duct in the attic which was accumulating lint and becoming a fire hazard, and improving the insulation on our attic access cover. The job was quickly scheduled and accomplished. Rafael and Louis were extremely courteous and completed high-quality installations under difficult conditions. Among other things, they really improved the insulation around the skylight well. This has significantly cut down on the heat which had been blasting though from the attic space during the summer due to a lousy installation years back when the house was built. Bottom line, these are the type of jobs, companies and people that I enjoy posting reviews about. I only wish we had done it sooner.

Initially I was impressed with how quick Phy came out and gave a reasonably priced quote with quick…read morecommunication about insulating my crawl space. I received quotes from three other companies and decided to go with Phy. We set an appointment, which I apologetically missed due to family being in town. He understood and another appointment was made. This time I made sure we were home. His crew (no Phy this time) showed up on the appointment date a little early and was ready to get to work! Phy told me the project should only take about a day to a day and a half. My first clue that things would not go well should have started when the two gentlemen that showed up were done by midday. As I didn't have time to watch or enter the crawl space I asked them if they had done all the things that were written on the contract. The man who said he was Phy's brother said that they did remove all old moisture barrier and that he rewrapped the ducting as it was starting to fall off. He then denied that any of the other services needed to be done. I should have inspected myself I know. A little while later I was able to go into the crawl space and was not pleased with what I saw. The old moisture barrier including debris and trash was just covered with a new layer of moisture barrier. Insulation was falling down already less than a month after install. The water line was not wrapped as per the contract. The strips of wood they used to secure the insulation were already starting to fall off. There was no wall treatment but to my fault as i did not state so in my communication with Phy or have it put into the contract. Then as I crawled further into the crawl space I find that they did not even finish. The pictures of the nice neat jobs on yelp were not what I received. Phy also told me that he found a rat carcass but the crew that showed said they didn't see one... so who is telling the truth? I tend to believe Phy at this point because all else that was wrong with the install, which means somewhere I have a dead rat in my crawl space. I promptly email Phy and to his credit he quickly replied, apologized, stated he was out of town, and would resolve the issue as soon as he came back. I received no reply in the timeframe he gave. A few more emails with no reply. I then stated I would be leaving a negative review and got a reply. Phy told me he was out of the country with a family emergency and apologized. I get it. When you own your own small business, family things come up and prevent you from being able to do business. (See above that I missed our initial appointment due to family.). Phy replies that he needed to check his schedule and would get back to me. No response. I waited. No response. I tried emailing again. No response. I have tried phone calls with no response. Not sure how else to get a hold of him. Granted my house is better than it was when we had no insulation but I had hoped for better service and quick replies as I started with. Phy does offer a one year warranty but so far that isn't helping me.

They…read morehad the best estimate out of all that we received and came out on the day they said they would. The TPU crew arrived a bit ahead of them and disconnected the power. Russ and his crew arrived shortly after. We had a quick review of the scope of work, finalized locations, discussed routing of wiring. Russ immediately set work and got the new panel in place. His two helpers arrived a little later and worked all day. They were courteous and hard working. They finished up everything and by 5pm were finished. The inspector arrived late afternoon and passed the work. Everything was tidied up and fully operational by 6 pm. I would highly recommend them. We are looking forward to hiring them again to continue re-wiring the house. They answered all of our questions and concerns, along with being neat, tidy, courteous and quick.
