Amazing service. Super transparent and helpful. Would highly recommend this company. We had to have an outlet fixed and we will need more work done in the future and will totally use Kanon Electric read more

I called to have an outlet added. The electrician who came out was actually a salesman/electrician- he did not plan on doing the work, even though I had made it clear what I wanted. Then he wanted to do a "safety walk-through" and said my entire electrical panel needed replacement. Funny, as I sent thorough photos to another electrical firm last week in relation to a major project (full-house generator) and there was no such issue. I reread their reviews and noticed many people said they were "happy with their new panels and all of the new outlets which needed replacement throughout the house." Talk about taking advantage of the consumer. read more

I have an old house that needed some electrical work done, bathroom ceiling fan replaced, venting for the fan, 2 outlets in the bathroom, but who do you call with so many electricians available? I took a leap of faith and went with Kanon Electric - I'm glad I did. The installers, Jon and Cole were polite and professional, keeping me informed on how the work was going. After the job was done, they cleaned up everything, leaving the bathroom just like they found it. Electrical work isn't cheap, but I believe and old adage applies here: "Sometimes you get what you pay for." I certainly did. Highly recommend Kanon Electric to anyone reading this review... Had some flickering lights. Called them out to inspect and give a quote. My wife was the only one home when they arrived. The messages she sent me during the estimate made it seem like the house was going to catch on fire and everything was wrong. Didn't like the feel of it right there. Then she told me the estimate....are you ready, $24,000!!!. That included a lot of bells and whistles that just weren't necessary. WE CALLED FOR FLICKERING LIGHTS! You could completely wire a brand new house for less than that! Mind you, we're a middle class family and nothing about the appearance of our property indicates that we have that kind of money at our disposal. Had another licensed and bonded electrician come out the next day, gave a much more reasonable quote that addressed our issues and turns out our house isn't going to explode. Just got bad vibes from that all around like they were trying to take advantage of the situation. read more

A team from the company came out and troubleshooted our inoperative combination fan and light in the master bathroom. Found the issue with wiring and replaced the unit with a new one purchased from a local hardware store. All functions properly and works great! Additionally, had two dimmer switches installed on the same visit. Just what we requested for two bedrooms. Professional team and good service! read more

My husband said "The minute I saw that fancy truck I knew we were in trouble. These people are an institution, not an electrician" They charged me $110 dispatch fee to come out & give a $1500 Quote. For 3 new outlets. And he said he was giving me one of those for free. Wow. Just wow. The outlets weren't on a new circuit or anything fancy - just to be added a couple of feet away from existing outlets, with the drywall damage hidden behind new backsplash, so no special patching or texturing or anything. Very straightforward job. I was hoping to get a quote for them to replace my panel and install a generator, but that quote would probably have cost more than my house. Update: Another certified electrician is coming tomorrow am at 9:30 and is charging me $568 read more

Kanon Electric has a smooth operation going and I will gladly recommend them! I had an ongoing issue with my light fixtures and they were helpful in investigating, diagnosing, & fixing the issue. The team at Kanon were wonderful to work with from the back-end folks on the phone to the electricians at my house. To the folks on the phone (Anne, Jessica, Paulina)- they were consistently friendly, responsive, & attentive to helping me get scheduled quickly, and were able to easily relay messages to the techs & talk with the manager (Jimmy) as needed. To the techs (Justin, Kyle, Solomon, Cody) - they were knowledgeable, clean/respectful of my home, explained their work in easy to understand terms, & offered recommendations along the way. Having electrical issues & work done can be stressful due to costs & the unknown but Kanon seems to be reasonable in their pricing and offered various pricing packages that I could choose from. They stand by their service by offering warranty and being thorough in the inspection & home safety evaluation. All in all, Kanon runs a collaborative and cohesive operation and it made the entire process easy for me. Once I hired them, I knew I was in good hands. I will gladly hire them again when I need additional electrical work. Thank you!! read more

Had an outlet in kitchen that sparked and smoked. Kanon came to replace and found a couple other outlets that needed updated. I was informed then that I could purchase their "plan" for thousands or just pay $1000 for that day's services. Wow! Literally, three outlets in kitchen is all that was done. Then I was informed we would need purchase state permit too. Kanon dropped the ball and didn't contact the permit contractor soon enough and then sent us certified letter stating the contractor has been trying to contact us to set up inspection. We received no call from anyone before the certified letter from Kanon. Kanon, you were at fault and we feel you tried to cover your butts with state and blame your customer. We should receive a refund for part of the permit cost due to your mishandling. I will not use this company again, as that was very unprofessional. read more

This is the BEST electrical company that I've ever worked with. Kanon replaced our 30 year old electrical panel, installed a 40amp electric car charger and 50amp hookup for a new AC unit along with other multiple smaller jobs. Louis initially came out and provided the estimate. He was thorough and his estimate reflected that. The office staff that I interacted with were courteous and organized . Over the course of 2 1/2 days of work, the entire team was professional and efficient. Lucas, Cody, Louis and Sam were a pleasure to work with and we will be calling Kanon again for our future electrical needs. read more

Kanon Electric came out to our house to do some work on a mysteries electrical issue in our kitchen. They did a great job! Grant and Bryan arrived on time, they were very professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I sincerely appreciated the way they explained everything to me in an easy-to-understand manner. From the time I made the appointment on the phone to the end result, the experience with Kanon Electric was wonderful. Great communication and easy to work with. I had Kanon Electric out to fix an outlet in my house that kept shutting off the power when I used it. Not only did they fix that with no issue they also identified a MAJOR issue with an outside outlet (installed incorrectly by the same guy who did the funky interior outlet) that was not only put in incorrectly it was an interior outlet installed outside. Basically it was just a matter of time before I electrocuted myself using it. They found the issue and fixed it quickly and correctly. Part of their call fee includes a whole house inspection and I felt much better when they were done knowing my whole home is safe. The guys were polite, they cleaned up after themselves and they explained things very clearly. I would totally use them again! read more

I have used Kanon Electric several times at my home, and they are always excellent. They provide quality service. But even more than that, they people this company hires are just great human beings who are a pleasure to interact with. They always bring a younger employee that they are training, and it's great to see that they care about passing along skills. This time, I was helped by Danny, Ethan, and Justin. They installed new wiring for a light and rewired connections for my cable. Ethan even crawled into my attic and into my crawl space. My dog was obsessed with Ethan and whined every time he walked out to the work truck. You just can't ask for better help if you need electric work. read more

We had to have our panel replaced and all of the outlets and switches replaced. Grant & AJ (the slayer) were professional, friendly & extremely helpful. I needed a simple NEMA 14-50 plug installed in my garage. Most electricians quoted $250-350 for the install, which takes about an hour, but these guys were booked weeks out, and I needed it done sooner. Kanon Electric agreed to come out and do the work, with my agreement to pay a $99 dispatch fee. Nick showed up on time, with a helper, and both were courteous and thorough. After an hour of looking around, they presented me with an estimate of $1200! Not because it was complicated or hard (it was going right next to the breaker box... $15 worth of parts, 30 mins or less of labor), but because it was their "Pricing Menu." I told them in no uncertain terms that i wouldn't be paying that for this install, and that their price was almost twice what the down-town Seattle Electricians were asking ($700) and that local electricians were quoting $350 or less. The only response was that Kanon's work is licensed, guaranteed and insured. Just like everyone else's work. At the end of it I was incredulous that I had just waited a week for the appointment, that a hard sell (like a used car salesman) and up-sell technique (for some monthly-fee electrical system insurance program ) was the big push... and that if I signed up for one of these "plans," I'd get a small discount on my NEMA 14-50 install. In the end, they waived the $99 dispatch fee, which I appreciated. But I can not recommend this outfit... they might do excellent work, but they aren't trustworthy when it comes to pricing, or to sales of service. They tried very hard to sell me what I needed at an abusive price, and what I didn't need at all, at thousands of dollars more. Avoid Kanon Electric, or at the very least, BE AWARE of their business tactics. read more

We woke up one morning with 2 rooms of our home without power. Josh & Justin from Kanon made it out very soon. Our work was not easy to diagnose & it took them a bit over 2 hours but they remained positive & upbeat about it and never seemed concerned that they could find the source. They eventually did and it was in a mighty odd spot, so no wonder it took a bit to locate. They also identified some safety issues with our system so we know we'll be having them back! read more

Had a circuit die on me this week. Kanon's technicians were there when they said they would be, diagnosed the problem and then took the time to explain to me what happened and what caused the failure. They gave me several options for solving the problem and proceeded with the work I authorized. They were efficient, skillful, careful and friendly. Kanon will be my go-to electricians any time I have another problem. Can't recommend them too highly! read more

The work they did was top quality, but they got my signature on the contract with what I would characterize as deceptive representations. They also start out with a reasonable estimate, and then the end is very expensive. Get another estimate! Don't do what I did and book the job because you want it done. *Too expensive* read more

I'm sad to say that I wouldn't recommend this company unless money isn't an issue. The first visit, they come for a little over $100 (with tax) and you are paying them to bash your current electrical situation and quote you on what it would cost to do the job you called them to come do. They upsold every aspect of my electrical. My electrical is newer in 90% of my home. They went around my house, quoted me on a job I didn't ask them to, and gave me C grades for everything because the method and things that were done aren't to today's code apparently. If you do go with them, call them and ask them about the monthly club that costs about $12. See if you can sign up for that and minimize your $100 surcharge for them to do nothing but bash your house. Do I doubt their ability to do good work? No. I think they do great work and use the highest quality materials. But,you pay for that. They will guilt you into feeling like your house is subpar and that everything was done wrong. After talking with other electricians, they just were up selling me. My electrical panel that is good for another 10+ years does not need to be replaced right now. But they will tell you to do so. I would have rather than waiting 6 days to come and then have them just walk around my house to bash and quote me thousands of dollars of work, that they had spent that hour opening up the plugs and things that might have a problem and were the reasons I called them. Instead to have them do that - just open stuff and see if there is a problem - it would cost me $400. Sorry, too expensive for the average Joe and I can do better elsewhere. read more

I was bamboozled! I should have known when he recommended a carbon monoxide detector in the basement, which I knew to be useless. My first mistake was letting them charge me $79 for a full inspection of the electrical system. All I wanted was to install a ceiling light fixture. Kevin spun a story about a dangerous fuse box that would not trip for a short. (my friend, the homeowner, assured me they had tripped in the past) He offered to put the rest of my smoke detectors in free of charge. He talked me into GFCI installations in the laundry room and kitchen (not a bad idea). But in the end it cost me over $900. He offered to put in a "safe" breaker box for a minimum of $5251 (plus tax) whereas my friend had had a quote of less than $3000. I may be educated, but I got taken for a ride. Beware Kevin from Kanon Electric, or just skip Kanon Electric altogether. read more

I called Kanon electric because they were in the South King County "best picks reports". I was so disappointed. 2 ceiling fans installation was 600.00. Service fee 109. Truck stock and fuel 24.17, 2ul braces for the 2 ceiling fans was 852.00. Standard residential permit ( still figuring what that is) 312.00. 2 kids came out. 1 was an apprentice. I have no idea how many years experience the other kid had. If they were paid by the hour I want credit for the time they were on their phone. The only positive thing was the kids were polite and respectful. DO NOT CALL THEM. They are too expensive. I guess they have to charge a high amount for their cutesy folder and inserts advertising their club enrollment. read more

As a new homeowner, I searched for an electric company that I could rest rely on for my current and potential future service needs. In addition to Kanan Electric, I contacted two other reputable companies and one independent electrician. Overall, I chose Kanan as this company didn't waste time developing a professional rapport. They were more timely regarding availability and well organized with strong staffing. The initial job I requested was a laundry list of services which I did not expect to be addressed immediately. Craig arrived promptly with an apprentice as scheduled for my assessment. He answered all of my questions (there were many) and he did not rush me. He took the time to make sure I was well informed and provided me with three different service options. Impressive to note that on the same day, most of my service needs were met. In addition to the assessment, they stayed well beyond the estimated time and provided me with electric services. At the end of the day, I was advised to contact Kanon admin and schedule the remainder of the job. Before I had a chance to contact Kanon about this, one of their service workers/leads called me the very next day. I was informed that one of the locations they were scheduled for work was unavailable. They inquired if they could return to complete the work because they had an opening. For me, this initiative on Kanan's behalf was additional evidence of their professionalism and reliability. And more so, very significant because I had already paid for the services up front (the day prior as noted within the service plan of my choosing). A different crew arrived to complete the job and maintained exceptional service. I especially appreciated the hard work of Pa' ana and highly recommend her if you have a choice. Pa'ana went the extra mile and I will be requesting her for future service needs! Kanan is not the cheapest company but you get what you pay for. When addressing water and/or electricity issues in my home, I will not cut corners. More than a company just doing a stand up job, the reassurance that I am dealing with professionals exponentially adds to the value of their services. I also purchased an annual coverage contract with Kanan in the event that I ever need emergency services. read more

Kevin, Derek, and Nate have been working my house for the past several days, rewiring and replacing every outlet and light switch as well as putting in a new panel and meter box. They have all been incredibly professional and timely, friendly, and always picking up after themselves. I trust their judgment and recommendations when it comes to our house, which was very poorly put together by someone who definitely was not an electrician. I feel much safer knowing that all our electrical work is in order thanks to them. I also felt comfortable leaving them in my house while I had to run an errand, and they even fixed my broken laundry door while they were at it! On top of it all, my puppy Moose adored them, and that's a pretty good sign in my book. This is not the first time Kanon Electric has helped us out; a few months ago we had to get a new outlet put in on very short notice, and we've also had recessed lighting installed, among other things. Nick and his team were the ones to put in the new outlet that same day we called and they even put up my new microwave for me, which was a lifesaver! I think I have met almost every person that works at Kanon, and communicated with the administrative staff over the phone, and every employee always goes above and beyond for us. This is a wonderful company and we are so glad we found them! read more
