They came to service the furnace and ended up cleaning the blower wheel for around $700. When I checked the air filter, it looked pretty dirty. So I told them and the guy came back. He asked me if the furnace wasn't heating up. I said since he left. He tried to find out what's wrong and insisted that it was working when he left. He also said that he did clean the air filter. You can check out my pictures. Anyway, he talked to the more experienced tech on the phone and wanted to do a stage 2 diagnosis for why the furnace not heating up which cost $270. I said no thanks. Mountain Heating & Cooling came and figured out what was wrong within 5 minutes. PS: They came to service the furnace before. That's why I called them back. read more

Have used Hunts services for hvac installment, estimate for installing a power generator, and emergency water heater replacement! Overall happy with their service and the fact that our water heater was replaced within hours of calling in the sos is amazing!! Some things can wait but a leaking water heater and flooding basement is not one of them. Scheduling can be tricky for some other types of appointments though with need for repeated confirmations sometimes sent to the wrong number and sometimes delays in technician arrival due to traffic which can affect my ability to work from home but overall happy with their services thus far. read more

If I were rating solely on customer service, I would gladly give five stars. Unfortunately, due to the extraordinarily high cost--$3,100 (with tax) for a four-hour job involving one breaker replacement and approximately four feet of wiring--I can't separate my rating between service and pricing. I did agree to the pricing up front, but only after the work was completed and I had the chance to do further research did I realize how disproportionate the cost was for the scope of the job. Because of this, I feel compelled to give an overall rating of two stars. I had a very disappointing experience with Hunt's. I scheduled an appointment for my business and received confirmation, including a text the day of confirming they would be coming. A few hours later, after originally quoting me $49, I received a call saying the price was now $199 just for a technician to come out. This was already frustrating and felt misleading. I was given a service window of 8-12, so I arranged my schedule and even closed my business to accommodate the appointment. At 2:00 PM -- well after the scheduled window -- they contacted me and said they could no longer come out that day and asked to reschedule. This was extremely unprofessional. I lost business revenue and rearranged my entire day based on their confirmed appointment, only for them to not show and cancel hours after the agreed-upon time. Poor communication, changing pricing, and failure to honor scheduled appointments is not acceptable -- especially when it impacts a small business. I would not recommend Hunt's based on this experience. read more

I hired Hunt's Services in 2025 to repair a leak on my main water line. The written estimate included significant heavy machinery use, removal and reinstatement of part of my retaining wall, and removal of the large root that was impacting the line. None of that work was performed. Instead, the crew removed my sprinkler maintenance valve -- which was listed in the estimate I signed because Hunt's presented it as necessary, but which I later learned did not need to be removed -- and cut only a small root, not the one causing the issue. The entire job was done with shovels. They also did not follow their own protocol or standard plumbing best practices, which raised concerns about the knowledge and experience of the person who performed the work. After the work was completed, I reviewed the invoice and realized not only had I been charged for items that were not performed, but the effective rate for the shovel work came out to over $2,000 per hour. I contacted Hunt's and provided photos. Only then did they acknowledge the job was inappropriate and that there were issues with the initial work, and they returned under "warranty" to redo the connection. Hunt's did not pull the WA REQUIRED permit for this job, and because of that, the work was never inspected as LEGALLY required. When I asked Hunt's to adjust the invoice to reflect the actual work performed -- especially since the work done did not match the estimate, was not done correctly, and had to be redone (something I would not have known had I not brought the issues to their attention) -- they were unwilling to make an equitable adjustment. At that point, I had no choice but to take the matter to small claims court, and I won. I am now left needing to have the job potentially fully redone, have my sprinkler valve reinstalled, and bring the work into full WA legal compliance. The entire experience -- from the unprofessional work to the prolonged back and forth -- has been extremely frustrating. Homeowners deserve to pay a fair amount for the actual work performed and to receive work that meets industry and code standards without having to fight for it. A company that has been in business for many years and advertises a wide range of services should be a trusted resource for homeowners who rely on their knowledge and expertise. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. read more

The tech got the job done. However, we discovered that Hunts doesn't charge by the hour. Yesterday, we paid $179 to Hunts for cleaning our outside & inside LG HVAC. When he was done, the tech recommended we have the inside unit "deep cleaned". He stated it would take 3-4 hours to complete the cleaning and we wouldn't have to "deep clean" it again for five years. We would be charged $733, which we felt was a good investment in having clean air. We were prepared to have the tech here for most of the day. He was done with our "deep cleaning" in one hour. When we asked him why he quoted 3-4 hours the previous day, he denied telling us that (my husband & I both heard him), and then added that he cleans faster than other techs because he purchased a deep cleaning machine which other techs won't do. I have been with Hunts for many years and enjoy working with a company who is an all in one. They have done plumbing, electrical, replaced my water heater and installed a mini split. I can call them and they are able to come out the same day to assess and then explain what needs to be completed. They will not press you into something that you do not need at the time. I had them come out one day to show them the problem and they were able to come back to the next day to complete it. Hunts is a fantastic service company and will use them for many years to come. My condensation pump for mysystem went out so I called them for a replacement. The pump in question I looked up after it was installed because I thought that the price they charged me was extremely high. around $560. The pump price when I looked up was only $80. So they charged me around $480 for labor. the instalation took about 15 minutes as I had already removed the old pump as It was only attached with 2 metal sheet screws. All the installer had to do was cut a 1/2" plastic tube and slip it onto the new pump and plug the pump into the existing electric outlet. nothing else was done. When I called them about it they eventually refunded $150 and said that they would still be charging me $410 which meant that they still charged me $330 for 15 minutes work. In no would that I live in would I charge someone $1320 an hour to Install something that simple. In My opion NO ONE should Ever work with a company that would take advantage of anyone like this and say there is alot of other things to take into account when it comes to OVERCHARGING a desperate customer. Picture 1 is of the istalled pump, where you can see the 120v plug and the 1/2" plastic hose they connected to the pump, also note there is no camp on the connected hose. It is important to note that the tech assigned to our service call (Marc) did a fantastic job in diagnosing and solving the electrical issue we had. He was courteous and very friendly. I must add that he was also doing his best to be a positive filter for his company's deceptive and misleading rules and policies. When we first looked up options on Thumbtack for our electrical repair need, we came across many service providers, most of whom had highly positive reviews. The only reason we chose to work with Hunt's Services was their lower service call fee of $49! As the landlord of a rental property, we felt that such initial price point was reasonable for inspection of an unknown problem. As soon as the tech arrived at the property we received a call to inform us that the all electrical problems require a quick test of the electrical system at the location and that such a test will cost an additional $300+ to perform!! So much for the low service call cost of $49....The company not once gave us the slightest hint that additional charges would be required before the issue is even identified! According to our tenant, the tech was able to diagnose and fix the problem within a very short time after his arrival. A few disconnected jammed wires behind one of the wall AC outlets caused a other outlets not to function. The repair literally took minutes to finish and required no parts or special tools, let alone any wiring or new installations, yet we ended up with a bill for over $440! I even found out in the course of conversation with the tech, that just changing a single AC outlet (generally costing $10 + a few minutes of screwing the cover) would cost over $300 if done through Hunt's Services....WOW!! Lesson learned and I have no one else to blame but myself, but I'm writing this review for the benefit of other potential costumers who, like me, may get drawn to Hunt's attractive lower initial service fee: DON'T BE FOOLED! read more

Labor Charged by the Job, Not the Hour If you are thinking about using Hunt's Services for plumbing, please be very careful. Hunt's Services charges labor by the job, not by the hour. With my experience it was very costly. My mother's hot water shut off valve under her kitchen sink needed replacing. Hunt's Services replaced both shutoff valves and supply lines, charged $473.26. I thought this was a fair price, considering parts on the high side would run $50 and the rest in labor, $423.26. Then when we tested the new connections, we noticed that the water pressure was considerably less than before. The plumber suggested that the existing faucet should be replaced to restore the water pressure, I agreed. Now the catch is this is a new job. The cost to replace a basic, chrome, single-handle kitchen faucet with an auxiliary sprayer was $742.26. The part costs $57.70, leaving $684.56 in labor costs. So, in conclusion, after approximately 1 hour of service Hunt's Services walked away with $1,107.82 minus $120 for a senior discount equaling a total of $987.82 in labor charges. Again, please be careful and do not get burned like I did. read more

When I discovered I had a major water leak, it was a Saturday and Hunt's was able to send someone out first thing Monday morning to assess the situation and provide a cost estimate (for a job that might be really expensive, I wanted estimates from at least 3 companies). I received a biographical sketch of my service technician, Justin, before his arrival. He arrived right on time, was very professional and knowledgeable, and was able to quickly determine the location and extent of the problem. When you call them to service your furnace, they'll try to convince you that you have numerous issues, suggesting you either need a full system replacement or costly, extensive repairs. Came out to quote an external hose bib that kept leaking. At first told me it was functional-then upon further inspection the whole unit needed to be replaced and would be over 600 dollars. Turned out the vacuum seal was incorrectly placed. Which was a three dollar part and five minute fix that my dad helped me figure out when he was floored at the quote for a Simple replacement. Initially, the price was a bit high but Hunt's had been recommended by a friend so I figured it was worth the extra money. Overall, I am happy with my actual install and install experience, but that doesn't outweigh the general dismissiveness and lack of communication, so I wouldn't work with Hunt's again. Our outdoor spigot was also broken during the install--it was old, so probably not all their fault, however there seemed to be no real concern that it was at least partially a result of their installation and we paid top dollar to get it fixed by them quickly without a discount. I regret not calling another company. Our install also failed inspection on a minor issue. They came out, fixed the problem, then said they may be able to do the reinspection with photos and that "no news was good news" ...then 3 months later I started getting notification from the city that our permit wasn't closed out due to a failed inspection. Called Hunt and they didn't seem at all concerned about the miscommunication, take responsibility, or acknowledge the fact that I'd have to take a day off work for this. Finally, I had a problem with being unwittingly enrolled in their Hunt's Club. I noticed I was being charged and when I asked about it and said I didn't sign up for it, they said "you agreed, it was on the invoice, nothing we can do" despite insisting that it was unclear and I didn't sign up for it (while sitting on hold listening to their "no hidden fees" message). I eventually found the PDF in my email box that showed that it was NOT on the quote and the answer was "oh, but when you click in our portal to sign electronically it's listed differently." The charges were reversed, but again, no accountability for the issue. If I could just work with those installers through a different company, I would, but I wouldn't work with Hunt's again. read more
