They are the electrical division of a larger company and I thought my job would be too small (replace two ceiling fixtures and install two can lights in a plaster living room ceiling. They were professional and timely and I'm glad I went with them. I had the estimator come over, talked about options, made a deposit and then it was seamless. Roger the scheduler was fantastic and provided even more details. We share photos and thoughts and the we scheduled it for the next week. I hired Rock Electric in April 2026 for a residential electrical job after being provided an estimate that included $350/hour for two technicians, plus $125 travel time with a 2-hour minimum, and an additional hour billed at $350. Only one technician, Don, actually performed work onsite. According to office manager Jacob, the second technician, Ace, was "running errands" and picking up supplies. The materials list consisted of 24 feet of #2 THHN, 12 feet of #4 THHN, and two switches. I was billed a flat $250 for materials with no breakdown whatsoever of what any of the items actually cost. What makes this even more frustrating is that the job had been scheduled three weeks in advance, yet Rock Electric still claimed they needed a technician running around at $150/hour to retrieve these basic materials. The scope of work included replacing conductors from strike to meter line side, troubleshooting the front porch light, replacing a bathroom outlet, troubleshooting an office light fixture/switch, and installing Ring doorbell transformer wiring. Not all of the work was even completed. The bathroom outlet replacement was never done, and although the Ring doorbell was connected to existing wiring, it still does not function properly and required further investigation. The job also required a disconnect/reconnect from Puget Sound Energy. Rock Electric charged me $890.63 including tax for this service, while the actual charge from Puget Sound Energy to Rock Electric was $595.95 including tax. When questioned about the difference, Rock Electric claimed that Puget Sound Energy rates "change daily," so they charge a set rate. This was never disclosed in the estimate. I requested a refund for the cost of the second technician who never actually worked onsite, as well as for the difference between what Rock Electric charged me for the disconnect/reconnect and what Puget Sound Energy actually charged them. Instead of addressing the concerns directly, Rock Electric responded with a mock invoice attempting to justify the charges and argue that using one technician supposedly would have cost even more than the two-technician rate. Their general manager Ben also left a voicemail trying to re-explain everything, but there is no reasonable explanation for charging $350/hour for two technicians while only providing one onsite, or for heavily marking up a third-party utility service they didn't even perform. read more

Just got some work done from them to get security cameras set up. We needed the wiring done. Along with an electric car charger, and two outlets installed. They were great! Interacted with them a little and they explained the things they were doing. Most of the time though, I was able to go about my work while they worked. There was no interruption in the power so I was able to get work done efficiently. There was a lot of noise, but that was to be expected as they needed to cut some wall to get things through. They did a great job with the setup. Glad my home is now set up with our security cameras. A little peace of mind. read more

The most frustrating part of trying to hire electrician is just getting them to pick up the phone and schedule us. So let me say this: Rock Electric has someone who picks up the phone. That was the number one reason we hired them, but I'll add - they were also prompt, affordable, and did a great job. I called around and did the whole Yelp request thing and I would get a lot of responses from other electricians in spurts and then no response for a day. I called Rock Electric - and they had a representative ready to take my information down. I did have to put down a deposit before scheduling which was a little sketchy for me, but turned out to be a minor quibble. By the time other electricians reached back out to me, it turned out to be about the same price. Within a few days, they had two technicians come out to diagnose a lighting and electrical problem that spanned a few rooms and outside, and they were able to get the job done within a couple hours, explained exactly what was going on, and had the system fixed with no unexpected costs. All in all, I would highly recommend Rock Electric, and will definitely go to them next time I have an electrical project. read more

I was adequately informed about what to expect, how things were progressing and was provided with a concise summary of the completed work. I contracted Rock Electric to install an EV charger. Don (the journeyman) and Ace (the apprentice) were excellent. Both were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently. They were just really easy to talk to. They had to move a couple breakers in the breaker box to fit the 50 amp circuit. Ace ran the PVC conduit and did a really nice looking job. COVID-19 impressed on my wife and I, the need for a covered and heated outdoor space to host people without taking undue risk of sitting inside. For the awnings we got, I refer you to my review of Awnings By Design NW. This review is focused on the heating part of the project. After doing extensive research, we picked Rock Electric to work our project. Cary was the customer account SME we worked with initially and he was great. The actual install was lead by Teegan and I can't say enough good things about him. Teegan was very communicative, knew his stuff and was just an overall nice person to work with. The project took 2 days because we had additional work we wanted them to do which was installation of a new wall mounted heater in our guest bathroom and installing string lights for our patio. We had an idea for how we wanted the string lights to be installed but Teegan shared some advice with us that had us reconsider our ideas and chose his instead and the outcome was fantastic. The heaters themselves are two 6800 watt infratech electric heaters. They warm up our patio space incredibly well. A few days ago, we hosted a dinner for our extended family in the evening in 40 degree weather and let me tell you, those Infratech heaters did their thing. Overall, I am so happy with the work done. It was a full days job but these two were great. Very friendly and courteous. Not to mention the work was on point. I hired Rock Electric to complete a large list of items in an older condo I recently purchased. Replacement of all electrical heaters, installation of an EV 240v outlet In garage, replace 2 bathroom exhaust fans with efficient, quiet models, swap out several switches, install new thermostats and swap out / install 4 new light fixtures. The entire process from the initial estimate / consultation visit from Patrick, review / approval of project to the actual work was a very good experience. The actual work took 2 days to complete. The guys were very detail orientated. The exhaust fans were not that easy to install (they never are despite the Youtube videos out there). They had to install new framing and ducting so each took a few hours to complete but so worth it, the new units are super quiet and efficient. Finding companies that show up on time, have dedicated, talented employees that actually care about what they do are increasingly rare these days. I would highly recommend Rock Electric. read more

In many cases I just do the job myself because it is so difficult to find a good electrician that will perform the job in a reasonable amount of time for a fair price. We purchased a Bullfrog hot tub from Aqua Rec in November of 2020, however, due to Covid 19 and at no fault of Aqua Rec, Bullfrog tubs were in extremely high demand and we did not receive the tub until June of 2021. We selected Rock electric due to their incredible customer service. We had three bids and all were within 5% of another. Patrick who came out for the bidding, to Keven our project manager who kept us scheduled every month in case our tub was delivered. We finally received the tub and Kevin was able to schedule ASAP. We were referred to Rock Electric through another company to have electrical work done on our sewer grinder pump. So far, the work we had done appears to have been done well and I might have forgiven the issues we had in getting it done had the company been more responsive. As it turned out, a new employee was setting appointments and having been left unattended, made errors resulting in our not finding out until the night before via a "cancellation" notice, that our appointment would not happen the next day. In contacting the office, I was offered the Field Supervisor to speak with concerning the issue however, she never made contact with me or responded to her office with a resolve. It took two weeks to get the appointment and almost another two weeks to finally have the work done. Apparently, the company uses an independent Quality Survey company who persisted to make contact and after providing them with the issues and that I left less than favorable reviews, including a BBB Complaint, within 48 hours, I received a call from the Sales Manager who expressed what I feel was a genuine interest in what happened and sought to make amends for all the problems. For this reason, I am revising my reviews to reflect a neutral rating. Would I use them again? From a quality of work standpoint, its a high probability I would however, I would feel the need to work closely with their office to ensure that the same issues don't repeat. read more

Both of the team members were courteous, professional, and took the time to answer any questions I had. There were some complicating issues with the install, but they took the time to make sure the job was within spec, safe, and that I was happy with it. Just recently I began to have problems with the lights in my basement, we thought that it was probably something with the outlets. I contacted Rock electric again, and Anthony came out for the service call. He was very thorough and was able to troubleshoot the problem efficiently.
