AVOID AAA! I had AAA installed a central AC unit back in July 2023 and my bill was almost $14k. My overall experience along with the quality of work as well as the AC size installed were DEFINITELY NOT AAA grade!!! Shortly after installation, I expressed concerns that the AC is not cool/cold for my house and my bedroom upstairs reach's 80F+ even with AC on. AAA came back and said nothing was wrong and even said oh maybe your builder should have installed 2 HVAC systems. I actually questioned their experience as the crew came out for an assessment based on my house sq footage and recommended this unit for my house and I was later told by another tech that the is AC unit is a bit small for my house.. unsure whether they were trying to sell some other unpopular units to their clients. Fast fwd, I hired another company for maintenance today and was told and shown that there were rust and water in my unit and the Inducer has a crack due to POOR gas pipe installation by AAA. Also, the tech told me AAA should have put in a bigger AC unit for my house instead of blaming I need another HVAC. Had them out to investigate why my furnace wasn't working. They came within the windows they quoted and were able to diagnose my problem. Unfortunately my old furnace had so many issues it needed replacing. They showed me all the components that needed replacing and gave me options to fix it. They were able to get a manager there within a hour to go over the cost of a new system so we could make a decision to fix or replace. In the end we chose to replace. They were able to get us scheduled for replacement in less than a week. The install went according to plan and they presented options on the installation. I was puzzled why I was being called back by the SouthWest Plumbing staff, but the technician explained that Southwest Plumbing and AAA Heating are the same company now. I've had AAA service my A/C unit and furnace three times now, and every time, something has gone wrong shortly after. 1. A/C Maintenance - They told me my unit was getting old and might start having issues. Not long after, when I needed to turn on the A/C, it wouldn't work. Turns out, they had unplugged something and forgot to plug it back in. 2. Furnace Maintenance - They recommended replacing some parts or even the whole furnace. They also claimed they detected carbon monoxide. I had another HVAC company check it out, and they couldn't find any carbon monoxide or anything wrong with my furnace. 3. Furnace Maintenance Again - Most recently, they said everything looked fine. Then, shortly after, the furnace stopped working. I'm not claiming they are intentionally causing these issues, but having problems arise immediately after each service seems like more than just a coincidence. read more

Do not purchase a new furnace / AC system from this company! Once you do, they will stop answering your phone calls and never return messages, regardless of how many times you follow up. They also do not guarantee their work, contrary to what they tell you before purchase. My unit from AAA is 3 years old and already needs $2K worth of maintenance on it, and we don't run ours hard at all. They will instead consistently blame you, your home, or living conditions for their shawty products. I've also had nonstop issues with the quality of technicians that service our unit and there is a terrible lack of communication from management. The customer service staff will lie to you and tell you someone isn't in office when indeed they are, just because they don't want to deal with you. Once you purchase a new unit from them, you will be on your own. It's been 3 weeks since I spoke with the Dispatch manager, McKenzie, regarding an issue that she had a solution for. While time will tell how my AC does, I have to say that Bryce and Efer have exceeded the performance of every AC repair people I have dealt with over the past 21 years. No excuses, no missing parts, no showing up late & leaving early. They arrived at 8:30 am as promised and worked extremely hard almost non-stop in historic 111 degrees heat to finish the installation of a new furnace and AC in one day as promised. They were polite & trustworthy. I had to run a couple errands but left the door open so they could get to the thermostat. My security cameras showed they worked diligently and never went where they didn't belong in my absence. My house was a blazing 93 degrees from the record heat so the AC had an impossible task with temps in the upper 90's at 9pm but I enjoyed cool air blasting to make the house tolerable by bedtime. Prior to this I rated AC companies worse than pimps and lawyers and had a well earned hatred towards them, but AAA's high quality service from the first visit through the completion give me hope that there actually one honest company in King County! -1 star for the outrageous price for the worst efficiency rated furnace and AC read more

AAA merged with Southwest Heating (umbrella company in Renton). They have the WORST customer service. When we first had our A/C installed they weregreat (naturally), but in the two years since it's gone downhill (to put it mildly). When our maintenance schedule came up recently, the woman we spoke w/was SOOOOO freaking RUDE. I asked for a supervisor to contact me and - you guessed it - crickets. My girlfriend recently let them go too and reviews on our community socials follows a similar pattern. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They will be accommodating and professional in the beginning but apparently as soon as your equipment is installed they will cancel your maintenance times at the last minute, when THEY cancel your next appointment will be pushed WAY out, they will try to up-charge you for cleaning services you don't need yet, and their 'customer service' people will treat you like garbage. Told us a tech would be dispatched to us today and quoted their price for a diagnostic fee. Was very reasonable and professional. Recieved two text updates saying a tech was assigned and when he was available he would call. At 4:30pm was concerned that the tech hasn't reached out so I called AAA. They said no problem you're on the schedule for today. Well 4:45 they called sorry we can't make it. Next availability it 4 days away. No option for next day or after hours service. I contacted AAA to schedule a furnace tune up for my natural gas furnace in December 2023. The good: I was given a discount as a new customer for the furnace tune-up. The technician arrived on the day scheduled and informed me that although the furnace was marked 20x20, the proper size of filter was actually 20x25. He also replaced the filter. The bad: lots of scare tactics were used to suggest that we replace our furnace. Claims were made that it was "running at 40% efficiency", along with other jargon-laden explanations of parts that were supposedly wearing out. When I tried to ask follow-up questions to better understand, I was given more jargon and unclear explanations. Eventually, I gave up and asked for a written report of any concerning findings so I could do my own online research. I got verbal confirmation from the technician that he would send me a report. I was a regular customer of this firm for years with no problems. Then a few days ago our heater quit. So I called them first to get it fixed. Their employee came and "diagnosed" the problem- he said we needed two things. A pressure switch and a new circuit board to fix our furnace. The total cost to fix our American Standard furnace that was 12 years old would be around 3,000.00. Then he advised we buy a new furnace or heat exchanger, with the cheapest option $18,000.00 He never even looked at the thermostat or had any diagnostic tools. We got the next opinion from GreenTop Heating and Cooling. Their diagnosis was a we needed a pressure switch, cost $275.00. They promptly fixed the furnace and it is working perfectly. Had a wall heater go crazy, and I mean crazy like there was a monkey in there beating drums. I opened up the wall heater and scratched my head. Previous home owners went wild with the wiring. We have at least a 5-year history with AAA; but, they couldn't find us in their system. Our Heat Pump failed on the hottest day of the year. AAA just couldn't work us in - we weren't members paying into some particular plan. Anyway, we called another company who came out and got us up and running again. We did have a recommendation from a AAA Service Tech from 3-year earlier service, to get a 3-year system checkup and we wanted to get it done. AAA Service Tech came out. He upgraded the repair to our Heat Pump made by the other company but during the system checkup found we needed a new Electronic Air Cleaner. I researched around - that part is outmoded - not available. I called AAA and spoke to their Service Manager who reassured me that if it is available he could get it. And he did. A few weeks later, we got our system up and running. They did a good job - as good as their word. My repair was expensive, but what plumbing/heating/electrical job isn't? We didn't signup for any Service Plan; so, if we experience another problem, we may not be found in their system and if we get work done, we won't have a Service Plan schedule or discount. They weren't available when we actually needed them; but, they did good work when they did show up. read more

Didn't actually buy a service but had a tech come out to give us a quote for a heat pump install. While the tech was very friendly and seemingly knowledgeable, there were multiple attempts at making me purchase a $20k on the spot. They tried using the new EPA refrigerant laws to have us purchase and install a system before Jan 1, 2025, which, at the time of the quote, was about 10 days away. Multiple attempts were made to have me call my fiancee to talk with her about scheduling. He even tried to get me to sign a contract and schedule an install on the spot and then come back later if we got lower bids (which doesn't make sense if we already signed a contract). After researching and talking with multiple other techs, systems have to be manufactured with the new refrigerant BUT the systems using the old refrigerant can still be installed. To me this comes off as scare tactics to buy a system from them. The quote also didn't include the brand or model number of the system they were going to install. We talked to other vendors who are higher rated, came in at a lower price, and were going to install systems that were more efficient. After all this, I have no trust in AAA because of their tactics for getting us to buy their services. I do not appreciate being pressured to make a $20,000 decision on the spot without being able to do my own due diligence and getting other opinions. read more

Not terrible but wouldn't recommend. We had an annual HVAC inspection where Alexi found $8k worth of repairs needing done. It's an older unit so they recommended replacing it. The next day Jerome talked us through our options and answered all our questions about replacement. He said he noticed a lot of dryer lint accumulating outside our dryer vent and then talked about recommending adding an $800 duct cleaning as part of the HVAC install. He said we wouldn't want a bunch of old gunk being sucked into the new system. Fair point so we added on the duct cleaning service. After taxes and rebates the total cost was about $24k with a 12 year parts warranty. The duct cleaning was done 5 days after the HVAC install. When he was done, the worker left without saying anything and I went to look and saw that the dryer vent had not been cleaned. I called their office and they confirmed that dryer vent cleaning is not part of duct cleaning. This was surprising since Jerome made it seem like that was what I was signing up for. Oh well, miscommunication I guess. Jerome was very nice but made a lot of empty promises. He had said he would come to the house the morning of the install and go over everything and make sure everything was done correctly. He also said he'd have the electricians look at our broken mini-split in our ADU and see if they had a quick fix for it, just to be nice. Well, none of that happened. He didn't even show up the next morning. It's fine that he wasn't there; the install went fine. It was just weird to say all those things and not follow through. Overall, the install seems to have gone fine. Time will tell though. read more

The technician Kennady came out promptly and went through all the maintenance with me and answered any questions I had. Fortunately, there were no major issues with my system, but I could still tell that he took the proper time in checking everything for me. We bought a $12k heat pump and furnace system from them, March 2021 with a 10 year labor and parts warranty. Everything seemed to be working fine until now. It stopped working suddenly this weekend and the home is freezing. We have a house full of people and babies. We called them Saturday and they said they would call us back and did not. We called again on Sunday. After a few different calls and time spent holding, they told us we were on the schedule for Monday. We even received a confirmation text. Then on Monday, we waited and waited and never got an arrival window. We called a few times throughout the day and they kept telling us we were a priority and would get seen. After 6pm, we got a text message saying the wouldn't come until the week of the 24th!! When we called, they said that was a mistake and could put us on the schedule for Thursday (1/18). Now it's Tuesday and I can't get them to respond to anything. I want to give high marks to technician Justyn. I had been dealing with another company for approximately 3 years and the bad experience with the other company got to the point where they stopped returning my contact attempts and still owe for a failed rebate which the failed to file. I was nervous about having to call another company to check on my heating/cooling system which the thermostat kept shutting off. Justyn arrived, listened to what I had to tell him, started problem solving immediately. He was unable to determine why the thermostat would randomly shut off so he contacted the manufacturer's technician who advised the manufacture had discontinued the model thermostat I had due to the continued issue of it shutting off and the thermostat was still under warranty so Justyn recommended I have it replaced with the new replacement model immediately under the warranty. Justyn was able to put the request into his office for a replacement thermostat and I was able to pay for his initial trouble shooting visit as well as pre-pay for the future visit to rewire and replace the new product. Justyn was very good at communicating to me what he was doing and didn't mind that I watched over his shoulder as he worked. I recommend AAA heating and cooling, and particularly Justyn as the technician to call. I felt the overall cost was a good value compared to the 3 years I had been dealing with the initial installing company that would only tell me to turn off the breaker and turn it back on (which was only a temporary fix). read more

This company is really bad at scheduling, they told me the time range was from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm and I waited all day and all of sudden I got a text saying they need to reschedule me for service. First of all I took a day off from work just to wait for the service and I also called around 4pm to see if I'm going to get my AC fix and around 15 mins later they send me a text they need to reschedule me. Delays, Delays, Delays. overpriced. This company was quick to come and give me a price for some needed repairs and parts. But once they got paid, became unresponsive to a multitude of phones calls and messages. I would call, they would say: We will look into this and get back to you. I patiently waited, NO RETURN CALLS. I call the next day, same thing. this went on for 2 weeks. finally when they realized that I wasn't going to go away, they were Never giving an exact date for receiving the parts. what should have taken a few days took a month. while the family was freezing i said our home. After 3 weeks of constantly not returning calls they finally say, we will check with our distribution shop . eventually they say, we'll try to have them overnight ship it to us, so we can get this done.!!!!! Why after 3-4 weeks is this an option. why didn't we do that from the beginning?? I would have paid a few extra dollars for faster service..... I would not recommend this company to even my enemies. Firstly, professional service and very friendly by Cameron (AAA Technician), Bailey (HVAC vent cleaning) and the 2 awesome technicians who installed my furnace/thermostat! For the first visit, the evaluation was thorough by Cameron, which he carefully examined my house and gave me the best options of what furnace is best for its value. Secondly, the texting format this company has to pre-introduce your technicians is great because it gives you some detail of who's going to help you out and complete your service. The day of my furnace installation, 2 technicians professionally introduced themselves, letting you know what they are going to do, what needs to be checked out and they started their work from there. The process was harmless as you might think and the installation took no longer than 4-5 hours. 4-5 hours might seems like a long time but when it factors in the removal of my old furnace, removal of old pieces of the furnace from the ceiling/walls, thoroughly cleaning years worth of dust, adding the new furnace, new thermostat (Note: If you have your own thermostat, make sure to ask if it's alright for them to do install it, if you aren't comfortable replacing the thermostat yourself) and lastly, confirming what has been done today. They will provide an inspection paperwork that needs to get filled out by an inspector as soon as possible, to insure that all the work that's been done is safe to use for long-term. Towards the second half of the day, I got my vents cleaned since it has been over a few years since I have gotten it cleaned and I have to say, I couldn't have been satisfied with Bailey. Before starting, he carefully was evaluating to see where the vents were in the house, let me know about some issues that occurred and made sure it was alright to proceed and continued his work from there. After evaluating, he started by simply vacuuming all vents as much as he could, which then he would tape all vents shut so that he could use high pressured vacuum to easily get the remaining dust and other debris from all the vents. At the end of everything, simply cleaned up, reviewed with me what was done and was finished! Overall, I would recommend this company to anybody who needs a new furnace, A/C or just need some HVAC vent cleaning. read more

We installed a new HVAC system in our home a little over two years ago. The system has worked beautifully since then, keeping the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The installation went well, except for one thing. The American Standard system was installed close enough to the house to allow condensation from the unit to pool around the home's foundation. When I complained to the estimator about this, he said not to worry, and that standing water this close to the foundation couldn't hurt anything. Um, no. Hard no. To this day, it still amazes me that a trained HVAC professional would say something like this. (The City employee who later came by to inspect the work and sign off on the permit was also very surprised to hear this, and said he would not have approved the work or signed the permit if things had been left this way.) To AAA's credit, they took me seriously when I voiced my displeasure. They sent someone to install a PVC pipe to carry water away from the house, and then someone to place gravel in the drain field. Since that time, the AAA employees who have been by to inspect the system have been great. I particularly want to give props to technician Alexey, who was personable, prompt, knowledgeable, and helpful. He explained everything thoroughly, and was courteous and respectful. read more

Okay. I discovered this company because Southwest Plumbing sent out a mailer some time ago saying they now offer air conditioning services. So when I called Southwest Plumbing, I understood they merged with or bought AAA heating and air conditioning or something like that. They explained that they could have someone come service and check our air conditioning unit (which is needed because it hasn't been in a few years) and at the end they of the appointment they'd go over their heating and ac maintenance plans. I was literally already decided on signing up. We liked the idea that one company could do both. Anyhow, a month ago or so I scheduled an appointment with these people and they confirmed the appointment for today (Monday) on Friday. However, this morning, I received a text, (not a call) saying they cannot make it, and for me to call them back to reschedule if desired. Going off of a similar experience in the past with a different company who stood us up for a service appointment like 10 years ago when we just had heating, these people will probably try to justify it by saying oh no, we had an emergency service and make themselves look out to be like heroes or something, but the reality is the next company that came/who we called when the first company 10 years ago stood us up WAS SOUTHWEST and at the appointment they said yeah, we never do stuff like that and cancel our regularly scheduled customers same day. It's just a bunch of smoke and mirror reasons and I bet the owner is some person who reads this and fumes because he or she perceives themselves as bleeding integrity and honor in their mind. The reality is it is apparently an understaffed company who doesn't even bother to call their customers and TEXTS saying oh sorry our bad but call us back if you want! Thank you ! 2 days later I had a new furnace and the installation was just 1/2 day and I had heat! Allen explained everything to me through the installation and walked me through things before he left. He and his assistant cleaned up also. Thank you for a great experience.
