I used this place 10 years ago due to a Groupon promotion they had. Service was just so so, not very good communication and they seemed to do the minimum possible. However beginning that appointment and forever since they have been trying to HARD SELL me on more services. I ended up selling the property they did the service at the year afterward. Yet 9 years later they continue hounding me via calls, texts and emails for more business, to refer people etc etc and I don't even live in the area and haven't for about a decade. Each time I unsubscribe and ask them to stop marketing to me but they are relentless. I would not use this company even if it were through a burner phone. They'd still figure out your contact info and will spam you to no end. If they spent half that effort just providing timely and good service then the service itself would be the best marketing. I rarely write reviews on a company. When we first started looking into replacing our 18-year-old Heating and AC unit, we reached out in 2024 for a quote from AllRed, which was much less than some of the others we received. In 2025 we reached again; to hire them, they increased the original cost (within 9 months) up $5k, the salesman told us, "Tariff price increases". We had them out last year in May of 2025 for a complete new heating, ac and unit install; all went well for the most part; paid the bill full; in August 2025 the actual AC unit started making loud noises, we reached out, heard nothing. Left the unit off all winter. Went to turn it on this year at the beginning of April, terrible loud screeching noise, also was not cooling down the house at all. Contacted them, they sent out technician #1, who ran a diagnostic on the unit, said that he has never seen something like this, the entire unit failed, new compressor needed, ordered parts, and said he would be back. I had to follow up and call to get another appt scheduled, we took the afternoon off, to be at home, the Tech #2 never showed up. They stated they left us a voicemail in the morning stating they needed to reschedule the appointment due to an emergency. Neither one of us got the message. Finally called the following morning; this would be technician #3, who arrived and was at the house for 6+ hours, replacing all types of parts, could not get the unit working. He said that someone would be in contact with us. Never heard from AllRed. I had to call last Friday 4/24; the receptionist (after getting through the AI Bot system, super annoying); scheduled for Tech #4 to come out on Saturday morning, she told me this tech was more experienced. He ran the same testing, could not get the system to work at all, said he was sending out an electrician (tech #5) to make sure all electrical was working; he said it was fine; shouldn't be affecting the system. He did try to get me to pay him for his time; I told him no, this should be covered under year 1, and warranty. He said that the company would be in contact with me Monday 4/27. I have left messages, sent emails, I have not heard back. They have not resolved the issue; I am asking for a brand-new unit and for them to come back and fix this issue that we paid just under $20,000 for last year. We are waiting for someone to call us for a resolution, which should had been a top priority for them just like it was when they sold me the unit. I will say that the techs have been really nice and apologetic when they have arrived; however, there is a huge disconnect with sending several people out to the house trying to run all types of scenarios when the system clearly does not work to cool the house. They have the worst customer service when it comes to trying to fix a problem. As of today, we still do not have a working system. Very unhappy customer. I would for sure do your research. We have had more problems with this "so called new unit" then we ever did with our 18-19 yr old system that died due to age. read more

I very rarely write reviews, but I was honestly just astonished by the level of grift going on here. Firstly, I initially called Greenwood Heating, whose service vehicles I see in my neighborhood often. Except, they said they were currently closed, but could give me a recommendation for a different company, which I took, assuming that would be more reliable than continuing to look online. They suggested Allred, and I called them to book someone to come out and look at our mini split A/C, which had been pretty ineffective recently. They'd quoted $120 for the visit and while I assumed that would go up as it often does (especially if the A/C needed a new part), the tech came out, took a look at it, said it needed to be cleaned (a correct diagnosis - he was great and this is not his fault) and then we were charged $217 for that. Just for that!! He didn't even fix it! Instead, he gave us a bunch of quotes for services, with the lowest one being for just a basic clean. $900. They wanted to charge NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS to clean the mold and dust out of an A/C. We cleaned it ourselves in 90 minutes using our garden hose for exactly zero dollars. What's more, it's very clear from recent reviews (I should have checked Yelp more thoroughly) that they're paying for or soliciting fake reviews. The dead giveaway is a review from March from "Jesse M." that begins: "Here's a 5-star Yelp review for Allred with some additional high-quality sentences:" - clearly something spit out by Chat GPT. Stay far far away from Allred! And, I guess, stay far away from Greenwood Heating!! He was friendly and professional, and went well out of his way to describe what he thought was going on and how to fix the problem. Past customer, posted a review May 12 2023 singing the praises of Allred's subscription service for maintenance checkups. Realized that I hadn't heard from Allred in a while on this, despite charges of $27.50 per month for the subscription so called. I was told that they had "lost" my subscription and that is why I hadn't received a service call, despite frequent spammy texts and emails about their great services. So I agreed to reinstate the subscription because I had had a good initial experience, and they gave me a four hour window for the service appointment. I called once to reschedule since we would be out of town, made another appointment. On the day of the appointment I received a text message informing me that their tech was "out sick" and that I could pick another date for service. Understandable, things happen. But when you give me a four to five hour window of required availability and I move my schedule to accommodate, a one hour notice of non-fulfillment is not acceptable. I told them to take me off of their subscription service and that I would find another provider, closer to Seattle, with better business practices. No problem...right? Today my bank notified me that Allred had deducted $27.50 out of my account again. Called at 8:30 to get this resolved and spent literally 30 minutes fighting with their automated system, alternatively leaving messages and at one point waiting on hold for 15 minutes listening to the worst hold music in the world (a custom little tune of a customer singing about how they don't know where their call went, and that they hope this hold doesn't last all day, etc..) Truly horrifying. So moral of the story? At some point between my positive experience with Allred in May of 2023 and now something has profoundly changed in their operations. Use at your own risk, but I will be finding another provider with more ethical business practices and polished operational strategies. And I didn't appreciate their worthless AI sending me an automated text asking what my issue was, then basically saying that it would send my inquiry to a "member of our team best equipped to assist with price-specific questions." I had not had it done for a few years as the previous company started jacking up the price with NO real added value. Over $400. Included a look see, pull off a couple panels, put in a new filter. The cost for AllRed was around $210... but not sure there was significant value in this service. Pull off a couple panels, look-see inside. Made recommendations to add new things to my furnace for an additional $450. The unit has worked fine for 8 years without a special surge protector and condensation collection overflow alarm. We have had Allred provide annual service for our gas furnace and our heat pump for probably at least five years. They have done a great job in that regard. However, during the spring maintenance visit in June 2025, they tried to charge what I thought was an exorbitant amount of money for replacing two very simple parts: a capacitor and the contactor for the heat pump. To replace the capacitor, they quoted a price of about $369; for the contactor, it was about $313. (It was very interesting that the price for the work was not broken out into parts and labor - there was just the price.) Doing a bit of elementary research, I found that the capacitor (the OEM version from Lennox) could be purchased for about $66 and the contactor for about $55. That made the total for parts about $121. Furthermore, it did not look like it would be too difficult to install these parts. I estimated it would take me - an amateur - about 30 minutes. I was wrong - it only took TWENTY-SEVEN MINUTES. That means that Allred essentially was going to charge me more than $1230 per hour for their labor. Does that not seem to be insanely unfair, unreasonable, and dishonest? But I am guessing that most people would simply have Allred replace the parts because they do not know any better. My opinion is that Allred is knowingly and blatantly taking advantage of their customers who have unwisely placed their trust in Allred's work and alleged integrity. After replacing the parts, I emailed Allred to express my disappointment. Their representative pretty much did the blah blah blah justification but did not specifically address why they were going to change me about $1230 per hour for their labor. Needless to say, I will be looking for an ethical, honest, reasonable company to do our maintenance in the future. read more

I recommended Allred to my mother. They told her that they would give her a 10% discount on the phone when she called. They only gave her a 5% discount, they also didn't provide any information about the system? No information was provided also about health of system or checkpoint system used; (PSI of freon, lubrication, filters, drain lines, etc) When I called up Allred and asked for them to provide the 10% discount like they promised they said they would, and she would see it on her Credit Card. A couple of weeks went by and nothing. I called again, they apologized and said they would follow up ensure that the service team sent the information to us and provided the discount and called me back directly. After another week, NOTHING! While the work was completed successfully. The communication and follow up of this company are terrible to say the least. $9K Garbage heat pump sold and disappeared. I wish I could give this company 0 stars, and I hope no one else has to endure the same horrible experience I did. I installed a new "Trane" heat pump in March 2022. Starting in November 2022, the heat pump began experiencing defrost issues and was unable to provide heat, even when the outside temperature was well above freezing. Since then, the heat pump has consistently had the same problem, and Allred has come out to my house 7 times. By April 2023, they claimed to have fixed the issue. Of course, during the summer months, the heat pump isn't needed, and in winter, I rely on my furnace as a backup when the temperature drops below 37 degrees. Now, in February 2024, under similar conditions with temperatures above 37 degrees and relying mostly on the heat pump, it's icing up like crazy for no apparent reason. During the 7 repair visits, the technicians diagnosed various "causes": 1. They blamed a recent power outage in my region, saying it had reset the furnace motherboard and prevented it from defrosting the heat pump properly. They reset the furnace, but the issue persisted. I paid $90 out of pocket. 2. They claimed the furnace wasn't maintained properly, so I paid an extra $200 for maintenance, but the issue persisted. 3. They suggested my furnace was too old and recommended replacing it. (LOL) 4. They identified an issue with the heat pump's motherboard and replaced it, but the problem persisted. 5. They replaced the heat pump sensor, which worked for a while but then started malfunctioning again. After the last repair, I told them I was done with this garbage and wanted it gone if the issue recurred. The service manager, Ken (or a similar name), promised me they would take care of it. They also promised to reimburse me all the expenses I paid, that did not happen as well. In February, when the issue resurfaced, I called, only to be told that Ken was no longer with the company. They said they would email the relevant department and get back to me. Two weeks later, I've heard nothing from Allred. A $9K heat pump, repaired 7 times within a year of installation, and now Allred is completely ignoring me, likely waiting for their "1 year warranty" to expire in March. How convenient! TLDR: Inaccurate diagnosis, misleading and questionable timing for "discovering additional issue". All these costed me significant time and money. The positive side is each individual appears polite. Detail: Furnace not heating. Allred has immediate availability for a diagnosis so I hired them. They came and told me my furnace is 17 years old so I should join their annual maintenance plan. I said no. They told me that "no maintenance has been done in 2 years " was the cause (I later found out my last maintenance was done 1yr and 3 days ago, so I guess deceiving but not wrong). So they asked for $355.62 for "Furnace maintenance" service and assured this will resolved the problem. I hesitated but went ahead. After about 2 hours, I was told they realized the inducer motor is the real issue, and to replace that it cost $538.82. I asked them whether the inducer motor or the "lack of maintenance" was the really cause. They told me it was the inducer motor. The unfortunate thing is they said to finish the repair they need to charge me for both the maintenance and repair of motor. I told them to stop immediately on all maintenance related work so I don't have to pay anything unnecessary anymore, but they said they've done everything so I have to pay fully for that. It wasn't a good experience for sure. I cannot help but wonder if I had been lead to pay for something non-essential to the issue I requested help for. Extra notes: Beware diagnosis fee will NOT be waived even if you move ahead with their service! read more

They called me around 4:20pm to tell me they have to cancel again. I'd advise you go elsewhere. Chris Castro with Allred Heating and Cooling is fantastic! The company was great initially when we had our really old furnace go out in 2018. They were really quick to come out and see us (next day service), tried to help us repair it initially without gouging us in pricing for labor or parts, then we're really fair with pricing for a new furnace and install the following week when the initial repair didn't work as well as we'd hoped. Fast forward 5 years and imagine my frustration when our furnace again wouldn't turn on. Total bummer. Allred sent Chris out the next day and he was fantastic. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing the whole way through and quickly figured out the issue was loose wires (which apparently happens over time). Quick fix and a very reasonably priced service call, awesome appointment time as well since we didn't have to wait forever for an appointment. Had a Tune Up service from Allred (1020 S 344th St #205 Federal Way, WA 98003) in 4/2020. Since then, our fireplaces have had problem 3 times. My gut feeling was to try a different company when our fireplace stopped working again. Glad I did. I also stood near by to watch while the technician was servicing my fireplace this time. Turned out, the Thermopile assembly was very rusty. The TPTH screw was very loose, had to be tighten (3 full turns). Needless to say, the "Tune-up" by Allred was questionable, only god knows how much their guy really "serviced" our fireplaces. On a side note, Allred charges $743 to replace a gas valve, two other well reviewed companies charge $300~$500. read more

We've used Allred twice in the past with great results. However, today we woke up to a non functioning furnace. We called Allred and they said they'd call back shortly with a timeframe of when they'd be out. Several hours later we call again, with no update. I called again a few hours after that, finally get a hold of the only person in the dispatch department and she tells me the earliest they can send someone out is tomorrow, after hours. They also had a wrong address despite confirming with them the new one. It's awfully misleading to say they'll call back with a time when it's not even going to be same day. Probably let people know that so they can call other businesses so they can get the problem fixed, especially with an infant in the home. read more

Asked to get someone to come for a diagnostic. Guy came and just complained about how dusty furnace is and just did work. I'm in the kitchen next to the furnace and heard everything. NOT ONCE was there a a question asked to see if we want to get a service done and how much it costs. We didn't know how much anything was or what he's doing except complaining. Then all of a sudden he is done and there's invoice for prices that we never even approved. My bf can easily switch a fuse and would never approve if we were given an option to accept or refuse. We had to sign to avoid confrontation because the guy literally complained the whole time and was irritable since he walked in. This is a new 6 month old furnace from ALLRED. Warranty doesn't actually do anything except dust your furnace once a year. Maybe it's cheap initially but seems like they're going to get you to pay it back through these type of situations through out the years. We've been looking to install A/C for three years, and had several companies give us their estimates. Then we heard of Allred Heating and Cooling. Estelle Walker was our sales rep. She is the most professional, knowledgeable and attentive listener. She was very detailed and clear in explaining different types/options of the A/C systems, paid attention to our needs and without pressuring us helped us chose the best option for our home. All Allred employees, I was in contact with, were professional and helpful, each step of the way. They worked with us to accommodate our schedule, promptly provided copies of all licenses and permits; and dealt with final inspection. Cassidy Willborg and Brendon were technicians installing the system at our house. They were professional, respectful, knowledgeable and hard working. They were mindful of our property and protected it from damage. The placement of the unit was in the attic, which made the installation trickier. They discussed with us what needed to be done, what our expectations were and made sure that the install was perfect, and our expectations met. Once the install was completed, they cleaned up the attic, stairs, floors... They left the work area spotless. Cassidy explained how the system works and showed us how to use the thermostat. Two electricians, one of them was Joshua Timmerman, came to hook up A/C system to our panel. They were also very polite and professional. So, the heaters out, before calling for the repair, I open up the unit to check for something obvious. nothing I could see seems to be broke. we had this heater for about 7 years the company that installed it is out of business. check around found Allred with a $97. diagnosis special that seemed reasonable. made the appointment for the someday between 2-5 pm Sean the repair tect called and was able to arrive at 1 pm Showen him the heater and hung around to hold the light. he checked out the heater checking this and that after about 20 min in he remover the one screw and pulled the igniter, it was broken. he had a replacement part I asked him how much the part would cost he said, "he didn't know." (after he left, I looked it up it $39.10) he installed the igniter the heater sprang to life (yea) so, after the repair comes the paperwork. $97 diagnosis sale and a $39.10 replacement part and the time to replace it. the final bill was $579.23. suggested repair for a new blower motor and a cleaning they want $1926.43. I heard of Allred heating only because of John Carlson on KVI. I checked on them several months ago because I knew we had to upgrade our old gas furnace. About a week ago our furnace died and we contacted Allred for a fix. They were able to get us in and the service person, Sean, was professional and informed me verbally and visually of why my furnace was dead and why it was a danger. I then scheduled an estimate with Chris and he explained my options. I decided for a gas furnace, heat pump, and air scrubber. On 12/21/23, Zac and Timothy arrived as scheduled and started to remove and install the system. They were both polite and professional. They also were polite in wearing protective booties or taking their shoes off when entering our living space. The electricians, Matt and Jason were able to find a way to get the wire through a messy garage and keep us from looking at conduit on the exterior of our house. They were polite and professional. It's now January 2023 AND WERE STILL HAVING TO RUN IT ON EMERGENCY HEAT because it's STILL not working the way it should! I am a stay at home mom of two premature twin baby girls...they have to have heat and now our electric bill went from $150 a month to $557! Because emergency heat is really expensive as everyone knows....but what am I supposed to do?! My babies need heat, and even though we paid $18,000 it still aint working! This is after they have come over to "fix" the problem THREE additional times..... I've cried my eyes out about this more than I like to admit. Our furnace decided to bite the dust New Years Day morning (not a good way to ring in the New Year, but whatever...) after a few different companies came in to quote repair/replacement Allred was recommended to me and I am so glad they were! Prompt, courteous, professional, thorough, reactive and amazingly nice. Absolutely every person in this company from sales to permitting, dispatch and install was amazing! Steve C. gave us the quote with a very thorough explanation of the scope of work which was greatly appreciated for a complete system replacement. Although not the cheapest bid we received we went with Allred due to the feeling that Steve's integrity gave us and we were not disappointed! The install team that consisted of Travis, Ryan and Griffin were punctual, professional and made magic happen! Tidy and clean work as well as making the old system go away and making the new system look like it has belonged there all along. I can honestly say that the new system feels sooo much more comforting and is much more quiet. I'm excited to see our power and gas bills moving forward too! I truly wish every company ran like Allred, an absolute joy to work with. I will recommend to anyone that is looking for HVAC repair/replacement.
