If you want to get a platter for a party or just for dinner, I think they recommend ordering at least a day in advance. The amount of sushi you get for the price is great! Doesn't matter which option you get, but only varies by size. We have gotten a platter from here multiple times now. The sushi quality is pretty good and always a crowd pleaser. For a quick dinner, I highly recommend the hweduhpbap (sushi salad). Looks like a big bowl with salad on the bottom and topped with a mix of raw fish. Wasabi Express is a small sushi restaurant in the H-Mart. I like to come here to pick up lunch, but there are lots of tables next to it, so you could easily eat there. The sushi is delicious! They have lots of options - sushi, sashimi, seaweed salad, California roll, sushi set, and other options. I am a huge fan of their salmon sushi. The price is AWESOME! This is my go to for sushi near work - no wait, delicious, fresh, and at a fair price! You can also walk around H-Mart once you're done and see all the cute dishware and tasty snacks. The options here are comparable to some of the more expensive options in Fairfax County and it's WAY better than Whole Foods or Wegmans. The $100 platter I ordered for a Halloween party was not worth it at all. The quality was very poor for a party platter. It was more like a $65 platter. I felt one line of rolls or sushi was missing from the platter. It was not a full plate at all. The rolls were very very cheap stuff took the half space and of the plate. Very little tuna and salmon, but a lot of the cheapest white tilapia frozen sushi and sashimi that sells for $5.99 for the whole fish in H-Mart freezers. I don't normally write reviews, but after my experience there today, I had to write a review. I've been to this place numerous times because they are one of the few places I know of where you can purchase a platter of sushi. The lady who runs the cash register and who I believe is the owner has always been rude, but I chalked it up her being tired or busy. However, when I went today with my daughter to pick up a platter that we had preordered, it was very slow and I was the only customer. I spoke to her and asked if the platter (the only one there) was mine. She looked then said yes and when I reached for it, she stuck out her hand and blocked me and started screaming that I had to pay. I told her that I understood and that I had been there numerous times before, I wanted to just look at it. She then jumped in front of me to prevent me from looking at the platter started screaming at me that I had to pay first. I told her that I understood that I had to pay, but wanted to look at the platter. She kept refusing to allow me to look at the platter until I paid which I did. In hindsight, I should have just left and let her keep the platter. I asked her was there a reason why I could not look at the platter, but her only response was screaming that I had to pay first. The only thing I can think of is that she thought that I was going to steal the platter which is ridiculous as I had my daughter with me and the place is located in the back of H Mart. When I was paying I heard her muttering to herself in korean. When I advised her that I was korean as well and started talking to her in korean, her whole attitude changed and she all of a sudden became very apologetic. You can infer what you may from this as I have my own opinions regarding this that I will not share. Needless to say I will never go back to this place again and if I could rate this place lower than 1 star I would. By the way, she said that the confusion and misunderstanding was because she does not speak english that well, but that is a bunch of BS! read more

Not sure what crack heads gave this place 5 stars... but if I could I would give it 0. I was passing through town starving, and thought I would give this "5 start restaurant" a try. Only it's not a restaurant... it's a counter in a grocery store, which is fine.... but why aren't you advertised as such so that I can find you? (strike 1). So I called, person answered, I asked them where they were located and they hung up on me.... now I assume this was an accident. I call back, ask again and the person doesn't speak English. Somewhat understandable, except for the fact that the employee then hands the phone to a customer and we have an awkward conversation of him trying to help me but also saying "ummm I don't even work here" (strike 2) Don't ask me why I still went there, I really wanted sushi. So then I get there and find the counter, which is "open til 9" and there are 5 packages of sushi sitting there at 6:30pm, and the gentleman tells me that's all I can pick from. At this point I'm pretty pissed, but to top it all off I got 4 little rolls for an astounding $5 and to be honest, it tasted like it had been sitting there for 2 days. I am only giving 1 star because I can't give 0. This was a terrible experience. From the ridiculously overpriced, bad quality sushi, to the hidden location (inside a maze of a supermarket) through to being chased by the gentleman who served us because we had left our trash on the table because we couldn't see a trash can. He actually walked further than the distance between our table to the trash can to catch us before we walked out the door to tell us to come back and move our empty box round to the back restrooms where there was a trash can hidden under a water cooler.
