    Crazy roll (4.5/5)
    Katherine S.

5 stars: this is a repeat spot TL;DR: consistent quality/timing every time we go. Great variety of options and good value. We have been here several times now and have always left very satisfied. The service is nice and fast. Is it the best quality sushi I have ever had? No. But it is solid, meets my expectations for this area, and is the same every visit. FOOD: All the sushi/sashimi combos give a great variety of fish and generous portions. ~Sashimi regular (5/5) ~Sashimi "omaskase" (5/5) - not really omakase, just a chef's choice of assortment ~Sushi "omaskase" (4.5/5) - same as above - docked some points as it comes with a cali roll ~Lion king roll (4.5/5) ~Kenny roll (4.5/5) ~Tsunami roll (4.5/5) ~Spicy samurai roll (3/5) ~Crazy roll (4.5/5) ~Soft shell crab tempura (3.5/5): Just okay ~Mussels (3.8/5): more korean style/gochujang flavor ~Calamari (3.5/5): uses a different type of squid than I was expecting from typical calamari This has been our go-to sushi place lately if we know what we're getting and don't want to be disappointed.

Ordered dinner from here on Uber eats on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I felt like the pricing was pretty fair and I really like how they packaged the sushi for delivery. The hot soup was packaged separately so it didn't affect the actual sushi. I'm not one that usually loves loaded rolls, but these were honestly so good.

Really enjoyed this place for sushi! The rolls were fun and playful--lots of variety without feeling gimmicky--and they had a nice balance of flavors so nothing felt too heavy. The sashimi was impressively fresh, with a clean taste and good texture that makes you feel like they take care with their fish. Portion sizes were fair, and everything came out plated in a way that looked appetizing without being overly fussy. Service was friendly and the vibe of the restaurant felt casual but still nice enough for a dinner date or small group outing. Overall, a solid spot when you're craving sushi--fresh fish, creative rolls, and a good value for what you get. I'd definitely come back to try a few more of their specialty rolls!

What a wonderful place. My son and I stopped in for lunch and greeted warmly and seated quickly. The shrimp tempura was delicious. We had four different rolls of sushi. The smoked cream cheese was fantastic and the salmon and tuna were fresh.

Delicious! Came on a rainy day and had some warm and comforting food. Their curry was served HOT and flavorful. The dream boat roll was literally a dream and the salmon nigiri was huge! The staff was super nice. This place is really authentic and friendly.

A good place to try if you're in the Fair Lakes Shopping Center. The ramen was just ok. The chicken teriyaki sauce seems a bit watered down. But the rolls were decent. I'd recommend going just for the sushi/rolls. Service was friendly. Small cozy spot for a nice dinner outing.

We already ate a couple before taking pic...yummy tender chicken

Came here tonight with my family and we tried various type of dishes. We enjoyed them all! They were well prepared, looked appetizing, and tasted good. The service was pleasant, courteous and prompt. They came by to refill our tea and water before they were completely empty. We appreciated the better quality chopsticks to eat our sushi with. It's also located in a convenient location too. Can get my shopping done then go for a meal or the other way around. Will be coming back! We had started eating off the plate before taking some of the pics, so sorry some of the dishes show less than how it was served.

    Volcano Roll and Dynamite Roll

Upon hearing there were managerial changes, I gave Tsunami another shot and I was not impressed. Food wise, 2.5/5. There was still a bit of skin on my salmon, the tuna on top of the volcano was just not good, the crunch tasted stale, and my nigiri was simply sub par. Nothing tasted fresh, even the miso soup felt off. What keeps my rating at a 1 star is not food related. I ordered through their website, checked out, and then was charged an additional 2 times for $0.50 and $3. I had already agreed to $71.43, that is the price I agreed to, it is scummy to try to pull one over on me and charge me extra money after I've paid. I understand that add ons are extra, but that should be included on the checkout price. When I called to address this, I ended up getting the refund but the tone I received was very condescending. I will not be returning again.

I watched it change from "still working" to "ready for pickup" right in front of me as she said "you just put the order in, you need to be more patient." So I hung up because I couldn't believe what just happened, and walked over to get it. The flavor is decent, but the wrappers are cold and gummy, probably from sitting. Who knows when I would've been notified if I hadn't called? I wasted my hard earned money, and I am very disappointed. Will not be returning, and telling all my coworkers and friends to stay away. Cute take out bag though.

The sushi was actually pretty affordable and decent in size--so refreshing to see since most places charge $18 & up for specialty roles. Witnessing her water the plants from the distance we could really tell she cared about the restaurant (could be the owner tbh). I've been visiting the Nova area to find a good Japanese restaurant, but this one is lower than average to be honest. Sushi rice was undercooked and hard, which kills good quality sushi. In my opinion, this is the most crucial aspect for Japanese restaurants. The arrangement was okay, but they knew how to prepare the fish, but the quality was not good. We all experience inflation and shrinkage, but you should choose quality seafood. For about $30 per dish and fish, I'd rather go to a sushi buffet near me that costs $27 per person. I might give it another shot and see how it goes.

There's plenty of free parking in the lot in the complex near the restaurant. You can make reservations if you'd like, but the place was relatively empty when we went. There's not much seating inside, so I wouldn't recommend going in a group larger than 4 people. The service was okay, it took a while for the dishes to come out and for us to get water. We also let the waiter know that we have a vegetarian in the group and he let us know he was pescatarian and gave us his recommendations. We ordered the miso mushroom udon pasta, which came with fish flakes on top. We asked for it to be re-made without fish flakes and he apologized. In terms of the food overall, the portions were small for the price. The tofu curry came with 4 pieces of fried tofu and a small portion of rice and curry. It was also kinda bland, but was fixed with sauces on the side. There was a good amount of vegetables in the curry though. The pork tonkatsu appetizer and cucumber salad did taste flavorful and were crispy, would recommend. They paired well with the sauces that came on the side as well. The mushroom miso udon was different. The sauce was creamy and umami but needed some spice. Overall, the food isn't really conducive to vegetarians, but the ambiance and vibe are nice for a happy hour.
